oh im so glad you didn’t get spoiled about grym when searching about the adamantine weapons/armors. what a great episode :D one of the most unique fights in the game honestly and i love it (although unfortunately easily trivialized in subsequent playthroughs)
I did not expect the forge to drop for you when you used it. There's a button at the base of it to control that. Along with the door that you shouldn't have been able to unlock a few episodes back (where the idol was), I'm thinking a mod might be affecting the world.
Just like you i was completely caught offguard by grim. even though we both found the trio off wizards that describe grimforge with a warning of its guardian and how to defeat it, along with another book mentioning the guardian directly. this might be my favorite boss in act 1
It's a bit unfortunate adamantine becomes increasingly less useful as players grow in level and get access to increasingly more powerful equipment in 5e, especially with all the work required to attain it in this game. I feel adamantine was nerfed a bit too much for 5e and thus it often gets homebrewed. Don't feel bad about Grym as there are so many books about notes and lore in BG3 it's easy to miss when the game is telegraphing something that will happen from the books (and you're right that it's very uncommon to see a cleric use a ranged weapon).
