I got a feeling that “Reg” is a creation of Lyza using the soul of Riko’s Dog using relic or the creator of abaude at the bottom of abyss. Not sure though, if Reg recall his memories the answer will reach us.
Yeah, I thought about that too, but didn't want to make a video on it yet because the timeline didn't make too much sense due to how time dilation works in the abyss. But maybe!!!!
If Reg brought a soul from the Abyss up in the blue crystal…after Lyza died…when the author is from a Buddhist culture about reincarnation and multiple layers of heaven/hell realms…I feel like a reasonable assumption would be it was to transport /Lyza’s/ soul. And in that case, given the Abyss’s seemingly bizarre relationship with time, perhaps Riko’s soul was Lyza’s the whole time, Lyza completing the time loop that would let her daughter/reincarnated self survive. And we can guess Lyza has a chance of experimenting with reincarnation given Reg the boy, and Reg the dog. (For various reasons I think we might actually be seeing the Abyss the ‘wrong way round’ and it’s actually going up, as if we were on the opposite side of the round Earth, and while seven hell realms is instinctive to reach for given what we see, these may be the seven heavens. (Easier to add dimensions to a being than take them away perhaps). If that’s the case, then the idea of reincarnated ‘fallen angel’ souls that instinctively want to crawl their way back to the highest realms of heaven/God would make sense.)
That's an interesting angle! The abyss was certainly inspired by Buddhism so I think you might be in to something by bringing in the reincarnation concept into your theory! Thanks for your comment!
If Rico came from the depths, where is HER abyssal curl?? MORE IMPORTANTLY why does KILI have one? The little one who survives the birthday death disease? Srajo’s group knows they’ll have to at least AQUIRE a corpse and one that will be either worth burying or sending to the surface in some way. My guess is that the shrine maiden must “die” and a new one must take her place. There’s something that bothers me about that line in the song about only the flawed are allowed to live, only the flawed may take a breath? Does that mean that bodies tenderize souls for the abyssal consumption? The pit doesn’t care about your lame-ass body, it’s the soul; rich in experience and memory that the abyss wants to consume. Also, does this make Rico a juusou since she was born in the abyss? Did lyza know the box didn’t actually lessen the curse but only found that it reanimated Rico, it doesn’t sound like Lyza was there. Ozen didn’t lie though, Lyza IS dead, but due to time dilation from the bottom of the abyss she could have died of old age. Rico was drawn to the pit because of the box because her soul is particularly important
This might be true, i hope it's true Because my theory was Lyza in the layer 8 and can't go any further because kind of gate that can only opened by giving your love ones as sacrifice That's why she need Riko and send Reg to get her and bring her down to the abyss I just preparing for the worst scenario, with thinking that every white whistles riko's met gonna be worse and worse person Srajo is good person, but for "now"
Or maybe she waits down there so Riko can come and sacrifice Lyza gaining access beyond layer 8. From Bondrewds, uh, shenanigans we know that it's necessary for a sacrifice to love the person it is being sacrificed for and Lysa doesn't even know if her daughter loves her or resents for leaving. Also reasoning out of story - author sure tends to be an ass to Riko and I think putting her in a situation when she has to kill her mother when they both love and care for eachother would be much more painful than if she had to fight her mother who lost it and wants to use her Bondrewd style.

@@tonyfunk what im still trying to figure out is how old is the shrine maiden and i wonder how it got access to delvers since it is in a layer where it cannot advance...
@@XXSTEAKYXX oooof I've been thinking about that exact question quite a bit. I think I wanna wait for a couple more chapters before I speculate on the shrine maiden. I just don't think we have enough information yet to make theories 😩
1. Rico's soul was blessed by the abyss, as Ozen mentioned. As soon as Rico pulled out from the artifact, she crawled directly to the abyss. Lyza knew this wasn't a coincidence; it was mentioned in the song of Hariyomari: "A gentle voice is calling you. One glittering gold flake. Tells of awakening. To the faraway nest." Lyza had to make sure what it meant, and if it was going to harm Rico, she needed to know how to stop it. In order to understand the phenomenon, she needed to find the origin of the Hariyomari song directly from 'the Shrine Maiden' herself in the seventh layer. 2. The Shrine Maiden was possibly the ancient delver who was stuck in the 7th layer and couldn't proceed to the next layer(or trying to summoned something). Somehow, she knew that to continue, she needed a soul blessed by the abyss. That's why she wrote the Hariyomori song and the Gold City tale, then sent an aobade to bring it to the surface in order to lure delvers to go down to the abyss, hoping for a miracle to happen. She waited patiently in the deep until one day, pregnant Lyza decided to go delving, and then a miracle happened. "Thus once again, one who was captivated by it. Is lured into the depths of the earth. The path of the maelstrom vastly envelops water and sky. And calls upon the travelers. Here I call you Dyahode hoode hoo" 3. As Ozen mentioned, if 'they' knew about Rico, they would kidnap her. She referring to 'the nest' associate in the surface, as Carvali and Tepaste. Unfortunately, Lyza wasn't a match for the Shrine Maiden and the 'Nest Group'. She died in the 7th layer. The one who sent the note was the Shrine Maiden, whom Reg mentioned as the 'master'. Reg made a symbolic tomb for Lyza in the 4th layer, Lyza's favorite place. to make it clear that Ozen's statement before that the note wasn't Lyza's handwriting. She did that to lure Rico to go down to the 7th layer. The one waiting for Rico in the 7th layer is the Shrine Maiden an The nest.
Good theory but I do think something is still going missed, the most mysterious chapter in the manga is chapter 48 imo, we see 3 bodies, one smoldered still smoking, one in half but still moving and one with organs out but still there, not decomposed, I'd say those have to be the seventh layer's curse "certain death" with a twist like the sixth layer's "loss of humanity", but one them who claimed that he could not see the golden city seemed to have not suffered from the curse, how could? He certainly descended in to the abyss, that is the only way for him to know about the golden city and that it is a "giant man-eating hole", but he somehow "ran away" unscattered with the bodies of his group in a ship, there seems to be an alternative way to descend and ascend in the abyss without getting cursed, the blue pendant might have something to do with it, since its shape is similar to the "faraway nest" which seems to be an alternative way to the sixth and seventh layer
First comment. Also amazing theory on the matter of Lyza going back into the abyss. Plus with the reveal of chapter 67 and its main topic on souls and such, this theory of yours seems much more believable. Keep it up👍👍
@@tonyfunk Long story short the main character has multiple people’s hearts (as in souls) inside of his own heart (soul), some weird story shenanigans there
Interesting theory about Riko's soul. I've long believed that the pendant actually has Lyza's soul. That would be exactly Tsukushi's form of twisted irony; that Riko goes down with Reg in order to find her mother, but her mother had been with her the whole time, and her mother was BACK at the bottom. Lyza would use the crystal to get back to the surface without being hit with the curse. She'd be the first person to ever return properly.
if circles are the shapes of wishes what is the shape of a square represent? the curse warding box is just a blank square for its first introduction and opens up into and almost egg shape like the wish granting egg, more parallels with the weird all black giant relic shown after the gronze hymn?
I’m gonna be honest this is a senin anime with dark undertones and implications disguised as an anime for bubbly children somethings so cute should ever be put through such a grueling experience But goddamn, thematic themes, the soundtracks the artwork 3rd be set manga and animes I’ve read it is amazing and I’ve seen over 200 anime. I would recommend this to anybody with the stomach and who can ignore the authors, obviously questionable practices. This story is amazing is nanachi is tied for my favorite female character after power well I mean, technically their genderless but Nanachi is feminine so I say she’s a she The story is not political, it’s not about friendship, it’s not pushing some annoying ass agenda of modernity Nope it’s about adventure, compassion, loss, sacrifice blood sweat, tears, carrying burdens, and love. There’s such a heavy emphasis on the psychological aspects in the story. And the fact that nobody is actually a good person and can dive into something terrible The only good people in the story are children and even saying that Faputa slaughtered a village of people.
Inside Reg there's at least 3, the dog Reg soul's, the girl type aubade and Lyza. The first one explains why he was already Reg before meeting faputa The second after eating the idofront power Reg says "I felt there were other me's" and they made him remember how to use his body. And the third why he stole lyza's (wich in turn came from Ozen) catchphrase.
What if i told you I THINK I KNOW what Lyza had been planning. There i fixed it for you since this is a theory video and you are not offering actual facts.Lyza was an explorer. Her having a child was an inconvenience. So she left her at an orphanage so she could keep exploring? I mean we are talking theories here. Just like everyone wants to believe that Nanachi despite being like that whatsits name from Attack on Titan Having an ambiguous SEXUALITY. They want Nanachi to be a girl. However, if this was the case. He wouldn't be repelled by Reg and enjoy being touched by Riko. But nobody thinks about that part.
They 100% did that, (Reg indirectly) but that's what makes the series so good, everyone has shades of grey, even Bondrewd. I'd rather read/watch a messy and unpredictable series than one that doesn't subvert my expectations and wraps up neatly.
Asking Faputa to not kill the villagers would be like asking fire not to burn. The core villagers started that fire, the rest fanned the flames, unknowingly or otherwise. Also, if you'd paid closer attention you'd have noticed that Wazukyan engineered most of what happened as soon as Riko and company entered the village. He risked everything for the chance to continue their descent. This isn't Attack on Titan where a sociopathic writer thinks it's okay to paint a genocidal psychopath as the hero of the story.
Riko truly was "Made in Abyss"
Her, Reg, Nanachi, and Faputa too!
Yes Riko was born in the abyss
Is that supposed to be a deep vagina pun?
it's insane how even the title of this anime has a deep meaning you'll get to know if you pay attention to it
