Lyza's blue pendant (Theory)

- In this Made in Abyss speculatory short, we hypothesize what Lyza could have been up to throughout the last 10 years. Could it be Lyza has been working in secret to save Riko from an undisclosed peril? And could it be that Reg was Lyza's only way to rescue her only daughter?

Riko truly was "Made in Abyss"
Her, Reg, Nanachi, and Faputa too!
Yes Riko was born in the abyss
always love seeing a made in abyss theory on my homepage
You're welcome! :P Hope you enjoyed!
I got a feeling that “Reg” is a creation of Lyza using the soul of Riko’s Dog using relic or the creator of abaude at the bottom of abyss. Not sure though, if Reg recall his memories the answer will reach us.
Yeah, I thought about that too, but didn't want to make a video on it yet because the timeline didn't make too much sense due to how time dilation works in the abyss. But maybe!!!!
If Reg brought a soul from the Abyss up in the blue crystal…after Lyza died…when the author is from a Buddhist culture about reincarnation and multiple layers of heaven/hell realms…I feel like a reasonable assumption would be it was to transport /Lyza’s/ soul. And in that case, given the Abyss’s seemingly bizarre relationship with time, perhaps Riko’s soul was Lyza’s the whole time, Lyza completing the time loop that would let her daughter/reincarnated self survive. And we can guess Lyza has a chance of experimenting with reincarnation given Reg the boy, and Reg the dog. (For various reasons I think we might actually be seeing the Abyss the ‘wrong way round’ and it’s actually going up, as if we were on the opposite side of the round Earth, and while seven hell realms is instinctive to reach for given what we see, these may be the seven heavens. (Easier to add dimensions to a being than take them away perhaps). If that’s the case, then the idea of reincarnated ‘fallen angel’ souls that instinctively want to crawl their way back to the highest realms of heaven/God would make sense.)
That's an interesting angle! The abyss was certainly inspired by Buddhism so I think you might be in to something by bringing in the reincarnation concept into your theory!
Thanks for your comment!
Good theory but I do think something is still going missed, the most mysterious chapter in the manga is chapter 48 imo, we see 3 bodies, one smoldered still smoking, one in half but still moving and one with organs out but still there, not decomposed, I'd say those have to be the seventh layer's curse "certain death" with a twist like the sixth layer's "loss of humanity", but one them who claimed that he could not see the golden city seemed to have not suffered from the curse, how could? He certainly descended in to the abyss, that is the only way for him to know about the golden city and that it is a "giant man-eating hole", but he somehow "ran away" unscattered with the bodies of his group in a ship, there seems to be an alternative way to descend and ascend in the abyss without getting cursed, the blue pendant might have something to do with it, since its shape is similar to the "faraway nest" which seems to be an alternative way to the sixth and seventh layer
I wondered something similar but about Torka; she was pretty broken up about that one too!
Yeah I get the feeling Torka's backstory might be important/ fleshed out more in the future.
Dude your theory is amazing everyone seems to have this theory that Lyza or someone is luring Riko to the bottom but I never thought that maybe lyza figured out about the souls and wants to recover rikos before the 2000 year cycle
Always love your made in abyss content! Can’t wait for the new chapter to see you Analyze it!
I'm glad you liked the theory!!!!
Thanks for the comment! :D
Also, chapter 68 is rumored to come out near the end of August!
@@tonyfunk what im still trying to figure out is how old is the shrine maiden and i wonder how it got access to delvers since it is in a layer where it cannot advance...
@@XXSTEAKYXX oooof I've been thinking about that exact question quite a bit. I think I wanna wait for a couple more chapters before I speculate on the shrine maiden. I just don't think we have enough information yet to make theories 😩
Like her real soul? Bc the abyss will eat it?
Ok this is the most believable theory I have heard so far
Thanks!!!!
Ten years aka six months in abyss time
Yeah, something like that 🙈
I love this Theory so much, i’m pretty sure you are on point dude

Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Also... My Kingdom Hearts knowledge is zero, so I don't get the reference. :((
@@tonyfunk Long story short the main character has multiple people’s hearts (as in souls) inside of his own heart (soul), some weird story shenanigans there
@@rebecca_rh Ohhhhh... Yes, Kingdom Hearts style indeed 😤😤😤😤
1. Rico's soul was blessed by the abyss, as Ozen mentioned. As soon as Rico pulled out from the artifact, she crawled directly to the abyss. Lyza knew this wasn't a coincidence; it was mentioned in the song of Hariyomari: "A gentle voice is calling you. One glittering gold flake. Tells of awakening. To the faraway nest." Lyza had to make sure what it meant, and if it was going to harm Rico, she needed to know how to stop it. In order to understand the phenomenon, she needed to find the origin of the Hariyomari song directly from 'the Shrine Maiden' herself in the seventh layer.
2. The Shrine Maiden was possibly the ancient delver who was stuck in the 7th layer and couldn't proceed to the next layer(or trying to summoned something). Somehow, she knew that to continue, she needed a soul blessed by the abyss. That's why she wrote the Hariyomori song and the Gold City tale, then sent an aobade to bring it to the surface in order to lure delvers to go down to the abyss, hoping for a miracle to happen. She waited patiently in the deep until one day, pregnant Lyza decided to go delving, and then a miracle happened. "Thus once again, one who was captivated by it. Is lured into the depths of the earth. The path of the maelstrom vastly envelops water and sky. And calls upon the travelers. Here I call you
Dyahode hoode hoo"
3. As Ozen mentioned, if 'they' knew about Rico, they would kidnap her. She referring to 'the nest' associate in the surface, as Carvali and Tepaste. Unfortunately, Lyza wasn't a match for the Shrine Maiden and the 'Nest Group'. She died in the 7th layer. The one who sent the note was the Shrine Maiden, whom Reg mentioned as the 'master'. Reg made a symbolic tomb for Lyza in the 4th layer, Lyza's favorite place. to make it clear that Ozen's statement before that the note wasn't Lyza's handwriting. She did that to lure Rico to go down to the 7th layer. The one waiting for Rico in the 7th layer is the Shrine Maiden an The nest.
First comment. Also amazing theory on the matter of Lyza going back into the abyss. Plus with the reveal of chapter 67 and its main topic on souls and such, this theory of yours seems much more believable.
Keep it up👍👍
🤞 We'll just have to wait and see how accurate it is!
Thanks for your comment!!!!

This makes me wodner what if regs current soul is actually riko's soul that acidentally posessed reg after he got eletrocuted?
Inside Reg there's at least 3, the dog Reg soul's, the girl type aubade and Lyza.
The first one explains why he was already Reg before meeting faputa
The second after eating the idofront power Reg says "I felt there were other me's" and they made him remember how to use his body.
And the third why he stole lyza's (wich in turn came from Ozen) catchphrase.
Or Torka's soul?
Maybe! It's suspicious Torka has been an afterthought throughout the entire story, maybe it means he's being saved for some kind of reveal 🤔
Reg and Faputa comitted Genocide on 3000 Villagers in Iruburu
Maaa is dead
This show has flop it has nothing good to look forward to
They 100% did that, (Reg indirectly) but that's what makes the series so good, everyone has shades of grey, even Bondrewd. I'd rather read/watch a messy and unpredictable series than one that doesn't subvert my expectations and wraps up neatly.
Asking Faputa to not kill the villagers would be like asking fire not to burn. The core villagers started that fire, the rest fanned the flames, unknowingly or otherwise. Also, if you'd paid closer attention you'd have noticed that Wazukyan engineered most of what happened as soon as Riko and company entered the village. He risked everything for the chance to continue their descent.
This isn't Attack on Titan where a sociopathic writer thinks it's okay to paint a genocidal psychopath as the hero of the story.
