Maurice Ravel Bolero Momix dancers: Mia Babalis, Sylvaine Lafortune choreographer Lar Lubovitch director: Barbara Willis Sweete conductor: Charles Dutoit film: 1992
Searched for this for years after seeing it on PBS in the 90s. Unfortunately remembered no names and only basic concepts (long song, two dancers, no props, smallish area, smoke background). Managed to make every friend and person I asked about it think that I was imagining it. Glad to have finally found it. This is amazing!
I'm also thrilled to finally see Fandango here!. I saw it for the first time on PBS (I think) around 1995 and loved it! Is the comment piece by Lars, Mia and Sylvain online too? I searched but didn't see it.
anch'io ho questa meraviglia su vhs!felice di averla trovata qui
Correction! Mia and I were dancing with Lar Lubovitch Dance Co. at the time, not Momix. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for your art. I still have the VHS copy of this recorded off PBS nearly 30 years ago.
I remember first viewing this in my modern dance class at Western Michigan University and being floored at how magical and fantastic it was.

Thank you for posting this. I've been looking for this dance since I first saw it in like 1992. Love it. Bravo!
I saw this performed by dancers from Alvin Ailey January 2020. It was magnificent

This dance is not by Momix. It is choreography by Lar Lubovitch, performed by members of his company.
Extraordinary! I loved this piece! These dancers have such passion and commitment to the movement.
Can you tell me when it was filmed?
