Great video. you've remind me of what someone once said❤The richest people in the world build networks; everyone else is trained to look for work.” “There is a difference between being poor and being broke. I once attended similar and ever since then i been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth
9:06 GG/Mark Alcock isn't helping that long-hair-care sector much with his very smooth head😄👌🏻😅 I must add that this was an awesome interview and I'd love to listen to more of GG Alcock's commercial analysis👏🏻✔👍🏻
The unemployment rate is calculated by StatsSA based on survey data. So it’s not calculated using SARS payslip data. Informally employed individuals are thus also seen as employed - taxi drivers, household cleaners, gardeners, etc.
Very encouraging insight from a seemingly well informed person. Those are big numbers (in the billions for those sectors) where did you get the numbers from? Are these sectors being taxed?
Stay at home , delivers a "breed at the price of a paw paw" syndrome . Where is the money going to come from to feed clothe and educate this future population.
PnP uses container express shops too .. his points are not far from the truth. This has been in existence since the 90s or even earlier. I grew up being fed by informal business... No one worked in my household, no one.we are the first generation to get professional jobs.
@Biznewstv kasi is an abbreviation of 'lokasie', the Afrikaans term for a 'location' as the 'black' townships adjacent to towns in SA were often called.
Well a township started spilling over into my neighborhood, and now it's a shithole, where most houses have illegal communes on them and there are like 40 living on these properties, and I've been in them, they are small, and there are families living In them, apart from criminals and drug dealers. I'm fine with whoever lives around me, but when they start turning everything into a townships, I got a problem. Crime went up, the area got filthy, it's noisy, the lack of consideration for others is none existent, poverty moved in, the area lost value. I will say that is not ok, some of us don't wanna live like this, so you can shove your fondness for this sort of setting. Things used to be neat, orderly, and many of use work our asses of to a achieve a certain standard of living. I don't wanna live in a country that eventually becomes one massive township, I'd rather expect the people to evolve a little and learn to be more civil, and gain better standards. There are different people living in SA, and being so, part of this country has to be for them to, not pander to one particular group. I'll have you know many bled for this country, they have equal share in what goes and what fks off.
GG Alcock is lying and he knows that he's lying. He is all about himself. The man has blood on his hands but he thinks that makes him some sort of version of Christ reborn. I wouldnt trust a word he says.
A recent report by the World Bank says South Africa is the world’s most unequal country, where 10% of the population owns 80% of the wealth. This is saddening to see the whites of this country still reaching into the township to take even the little that is supposed to sustaining us. Where must we trade? If it's not illegal immigrants it's this now. Can white South African have a heart and stay out of the township economy, we will develop it for our own benefit.
Thats an unfair statement to say that whites are reaching out into the townships.. where I stay in the so called white areas, most of the homes are owned by black people, most jobs in the so called white areas are employed by black people. Just look at all the restaurants, supermarkets, shopping malls, banks, hospitals etc. Most of the schools in my area have black school going children and more and more are opting for private schools... your thinking is old school.. there is no such thing as white areas anymore. We have moved on from that mindset. We all enjoy living together where we don't see colour.. there are 50 black people to one white person.. 😳😳
@@gailgrady5638 here are sobering facts for you, 80% of the wealth is in the hands of only 10% of the population, that 10% is white people. You are talking about restaurant jobs, who owns those restaurants? is it not white people? Who owns the mines? Who owns the farms? Those restaurants you talk about so fondly exclusively employs illegal foreigners. Not every black person you meet on the street is a South African. 52% of my people are unemployed. White in this country have made sure of this. From domestic workers to to the tourism industry, black South Africans are being purged.
A lot of young black people are making it in their own business. Cyril Rhamaphosa owns different businesses.. just Google all the business and mining that Motsepi owns.. many just a start.. that is justbtwo people, you can look atvtgeir portfolios.there are plenty of young black farmers emerging who have been given training by white farmers helping them to own their own farm business.. a black businessman started chisanyama which is restaurant chain.. young girls starting hairdressing businesses nail bars fashion design and interior decorating just to name a few.. most of the homes in the estate where I stay are black owned. They all drive the latest cars BMW and Mercs they obviously own all their own companies... things have changed a lot for the local black people... always remember there are 50 black people to one white person in this country and over 43 000 people will be immigrating in the next few years..so it should give the people that stay the opportunity to rise up and start something new.. a lot of management positions are in black hands look at banking. Perhaps Google black owned businesses and you will see there are plenty out there too many to mention.. one has to change ones thinking to see how far things have progressed... most young white people cannot get jobs here and have had to go overseas and leave families behind because of BEE which they now say has not worked... we all pray that the economy will get going again, so that more people can get work and start their own businesses.. corruption unfortunately has not been good for any of us... there must be unity in everything we do... regardless of colour we are all one big family under God's loving hands... ❤️
@@gailgrady5638 you are very right on many fronts. And like I always say to the white people I meet, both you and my enemy is the monopoly on the economy. Look at Kenya for instance, almost the same population as SA but Kenya has 400 plus banks, most of them black owned. Here in SA, it's a different story. Look at every food item in your grocery cupboard and tell me how many of those items are produced by black people. Look at your everyday life and what you spend your money on and tell me how much are you spending on black businesses. The same thing is now happening in the townships, Shoprite, Spar, PnP etc atre now going into the townships, you check on their shelves, how many brands are owned and produced by black people, 0. So it goes beyond just a few rich black people here and there, we must level the playing fields if we want to see real change. If I was a young white person in SA right now, I'd be rich, just by investing in black owned companies and owning 10% in those companies. That's all you need to do as a white person. Most of you have houses passed down from generations, that's cold hard cash to start multiple businesses right there.
I have many products in my home that are made by black people, baskets, blankets and art work including interior decorating crafts, I buy handbags and jewelry from black owned shops in Menlyn, and some of the black hair products because they work so well, if black people were more welcoming and advertised to the white communities we'd come in and shop with pleasure..I have a black lady who does my nails... in dollar terms black people has increased by 145% .. look on the positive side.. 20 years ago all the jobs in banks, stores, restaurants, hospitals government depts etc were whites only today its at 99.9% black, so all those people are employed..there is nothing from stopping a black person in opening a Pick n Pay franchise, or spur.. etc.. I have added a list of black owned banks in South Africa for you.. I hope you start to see things as progress.. things take time to change and there has been big change in South Africa for the better..I have been to Zimbabwe recently and Mozambique and the people are much worse off Zimbabwe being the worst out of all.. very sad indeed.. we need to pray for all people to come together to work side by side in unity.. and above all things in love.. blessings to you..
GG is not well infomerd but his knows everything about black south africans and close to their culture even from talking about kasi than the name oppression of township.
The ANC understand TAKISM and COLLECTIONISM! Find things that work through no help from them and TAKE THEM. Find things that people are talking about and COLLECT them as their own. Useless on every single level.
Untapped and definitely UNTAXED!
I have a lot of respect for GG. For as long as there aren't people from townships in the boardrooms, Corporate SA should keep out of the townships.
Big fan of GG. He should get a lot more airtime.
He is well informed about iKasi's economy 🤝
This is the most exciting and uplifting news of our time.

Really interesting

The informal economy or second economy employs more people than business and guvMUNT combined in formal employment
Wow, I haven't heard aninterview on business matters this interesting in a long time.
Give GG more airtime so interesting
It would be fascinating to have a kasi economy themed stock picks
Wow - this is awesome!
a nation of shopkeepers instead of a nation of engineers - succes story
This is magic

These sectors are not being taxed
Should go read his book it’s super interesting 👏🏼
Stay at home , delivers a "breed at the price of a paw paw" syndrome . Where is the money going to come from to feed clothe and educate this future population.
The government should be lowering personal income tax and raising VAT. The informal economy is huge and definitely not paying its fair share in tax.
The news of the informal economy is great news, but surely such a successful sector should be paying rates and taxes?
They all pay 15% VAT on the goods that they buy and resell.
Fantastic info .. wonder what SARS has to say ??
PnP uses container express shops too .. his points are not far from the truth. This has been in existence since the 90s or even earlier. I grew up being fed by informal business... No one worked in my household, no one.we are the first generation to get professional jobs.
Very interesting podcast.?
@Biznewstv kasi is an abbreviation of 'lokasie', the Afrikaans term for a 'location' as the 'black' townships adjacent to towns in SA were often called.
So it's time to review the tax-base as well and switch more to consumption based taxation. Other than VAT, do these businesses pay tax?
@biznewstv , how do I contribute to this topic, we are Kasi Connect Marketing, specialists in community markets
Question: Why then are paying for 2 people on welfare for every single tax payer????
