Definitely can relate and feel your pain - 6 years ago, just one month shy of our 40th anniversary, my wife told me she didn't love me anymore and divorced me.
She was and still is, the love of my life and for me I'm not sure that I'll ever get over it.
This song resonates w/me more n more every time I listen to it.

The first time I heard this I didn’t know he had gone through divorce. The second time I heard it was right after I listened to a radio station interview with Kelsea talking about how she was doing after the divorce and how it played into her songwriting. I flipped the station and this was playing. The raw emotion is so evident in every word.

Kelsea kept quite for a long time over her divorce…than he came out with this song. So she let everyone know her side as well! People grow apart and that’s okay…no blame in that. If you’re not happy it’s okay to leave. We don’t know what these two went through…but I do know one thing. In her song “blindsided” she basically cries her heart out and in “Mountain with a view” she was hurting too. It’s sad! I hope they both find their happiness.

It’s called projection. Human behaviour is incredibly predictable. She clearly wasn’t invested…never really leaned in. Look at any photo of these two…means to an end. I don’t know their situation and I am only speculating. But, hearing that men never listen is getting kinda old. You need to communicate up front. People hide who they are within the first three months, and some, never actually stop hiding due to insecurities within themselves. The cycle will repeat itself unless self change occurs. Predictable, she had to SHOW proof that she magically “slipped into a DM”…Sure, Yeah, Okay! …or projection?
Ultimately, everyone deserves to find their happy. We don’t need selfishly bring people down in doing so.

Breaking up is so painful, no matter what end you're on. I left my ex after 25 years and 2 children. But he was having an affair, and expected me to be OK with that. In fact they were willing to invite me into their "bed" with them. That hurt much too much. They stayed together, but she cheats on him ALL the time w/ both sexes. Lucky him. Me?? My next love died quite suddenly. And since then, I just don't feel like love is a good risk anymore. 😢

The lyrics are profound for many who have fallen out of love or have been left for what seems like "out of the blue." When a marriage fails, it's not cut and dry, or linear. The twists and turns are like an almost finished puzzle with a missing piece. Irretrievably broken, but could have been fixed if the answers were there all along. Worst case, the missing piece is never found, floating in the ether somewhere, with a broken heart hanging in the balance. I hope they heal before they move on. Wishing them the best, individually.

I first heard this song during the night. I tried to catch the name of it but I couldn't. Then I heard it again. I can't think of anybody who could not relate to this song at one point in there life. Has someone who was completely blindsided by divorce - this song hits hard. Pretty much word for word, there is not a single line that is not relevant to how I was feeling and the thoughts running through my head over and over. Omg, I just discovered this song accidentally. I heard kelseas ep when it came out and related to it (im going through separation) but then I heard this song and I've been tearing up. Being married is hard work and it takes so much continuous effort and open communication to learn and grow through the difficult times. It gets so hard to be on the same page but it's not impossible - but both people have to want it.
