Commenting for the SB Blazer review. As someone who's skated the SB version, they're an absolute beast for a vulcanized shoe. And comparing them against the regular ones is a night and day difference (thicker midsole, zoom air insole, and a solid plastic cap liner under the toe box). Looking forward to the comparison!
@@JR-ld1et eh, I’m their defense it’s the fact that this was an old school skate shoe. That being said, I had some SB Blazers, threw in a pair of FP insoles and have been chasing the high for skate shoes since.
A skater uploaded a video making a review on the Adidas Campus shoes. The shoes were extremely durable and resisted way more than any other brand he used before it. He also didn't realize those were the casual wear ones lmao. The Campus ADV ones would actually last way longer and as a Campus enthusiast myself, the only other shoe comparable to it are the Puma Suede or Clyde. Nike nor Converse can even come close to them. Don't waste your time with shitty american brands.

Hopefully, looking for a decent shoe for cycling. I love boots but they aren't the best thing going when it comes to riding a bike. I am just sick of the tennis shoe that tends to last me a month or two.
We should make him buy a lot of different models across different skateshoe brands and compare them to find out which brands construct their shoes the best.
I'm an old skater, but back when I was skating, I could tear through Vans easily in a few minutes. I never understood why anyone would skate in them. The shoe that lasted me the longest was the Airwalk Prototype 600F. It kinda looked like a Jordan 1, but with rubber (instead of leather) patches to protect against damage by ollies. It still wore through them, but took much longer. I too would like to see an SB Blazer cut in half. It has a Zoom Air bag, but also claims to have more padding. Want to see if that's really true.
True, skating the classic canvas vans never added up. Same with converse, but at least they had the rubber toe cap. Anything by emerica, es, etnies, dvs, adio etc. pre 2005-ish would be pretty solid.
Dude my gramps had a pair of these lowtops (he didn’t shred, mostly a retired gardener) and this brought back some many fond memories! I checked nikes site and they had the mostly exact pair, that I was able to score.
I think it's a really interesting concept doing a wear test for the shoes, but I think that the standard version of the nike blazer is an entirely different shoe than the skateboarding/sb version, even though they look the same on the outside. I own both versions, and I would say that it feels like the sb blazer has a lot more padding, a thicker outsole and a better construction with longer lasting materials opposed to the other blazer models. In my opinion I think that the sb blazer is way more suited for skating than the regular version. And the other blazers are probably only suited as an everyday sneaker. I'm looking forward to seeing the differences between the models. Also, since you're comparing the skate version of a shoe against the regular version. I think it would be interesting to revisit some vans shoes. They also have a skate version of most their other models, so you could compare them to each other too. Thanks. (sorry for the essay)
I only saw that others had commented basically the same as what I had wrote after I commented this. But I still think you should cut the vans skate shoes in half and compare them to the non-skate versions.
As a long time skateboarder I am super excited to see you finally dissecting this type of shoe. This has the potential to be a very popular series just like work boots. Please make more of these with other top brands like Vans, Lakai, Cariuma, Etnies, Globe, DC, Osiris, Es, Adidas, New Balance, etc
Bought a pair of blazers 77 couple months ago - no tricks on skateboard - just riding and longboarding - after two weeks the outer side of the left shoe on my goofy foot started wearing down(in the area of a pinky finger), and one week later it completely tore. I really like the silhouette and the overall design of the shoe - it’s my favorite of all. But they are really hard to break in and not very durable.(and not wide enough for people with wider feet) If there was a more premium version of blazers I would be pretty happy
I would love to see you cut open the 85 cut Jordan 1s. They say the leather and structure are much better on that version and I’d be curious to see what’s inside
My Blazer Lows have a genuine patch on the side i do my ollies...because ive done enough ollies for it to get worn off. I can show you as well, I think the Mids and Lows are constructed differently
I'm a Hobbiest leaval martial artist and I'll from time to time practice my hard strikes in boots or shoes. In cheep shoes with cemented construction the outsole will separate from the heal or ball of the foot from the torque of a spinning heal ether trough the planting foot or the impact of the striking foot on a bag. Just giving you data here I trust jungle boots it's like they are cemented but they actually hold together i think they are melted into the midsole material if i had to guess. I haven't had Jack's whites or any nailed or stich down construction outsole boot/shoe. I'd ask if a higher end boot would be worth it but I think I'll pull the trigger on a nice pair of boots myself and generate my own data on that front 🙂. Thanks for the awesome content I never knew how much goes into shoes. I can watch you tare up some boots or shoes all day brother.
I started walking last summer and by Oct I was walking 8-10 miles/day. I walk twice a day with the morning walk around 3.5 miles. I wear different shoes in the afternoon. The last 2 pairs of afternoon shoes the inside SHREDDED WTF??!!! I got about 3-4 months from a pair of merrell’s before the tread was just too worn down to be safe walking up a wet hill. The inside had just started to fall apart. I’d never seen that before. I then got a pair of avia’s which had a removable insole so I put in a better one. Man those were some comfy walking shoes! The mid soles were thick and my metatarsals loved them. Within a month the inside began to shred. They’re now really unwearable. Sadly their tread would last me another couple of months! My morning adidas are super cool looking but never had a thick enough midsole for a longer walk. They’re still holding strong. I got them on the same day as the Avias. Now that I spend Saturday night watching you cut shoes in half maybe I can find a more durable comfy shoe. Everyone’s telling me to get Ashoka shoe (alas neither DSW nor Nordstrom Rack carry them!)
you should cut open the skateboarding version of the blazers mids. really enjoyed this one, being a skateboarder my self. I was already subscribed so this is just a bonus for me :)

Nike Sb Blazers are my favorite shoe There comfy as hell and skate great IMO its to bad they are hard as hell to find. I have to get my friend at the local skate shop to call me when he gets them in because they sell so damn fast. Especially my favorite all suede black pair.

Yeah, I’d be interested to see how a pair of SB Blazers hold up. I have a pair of Grant Taylor Blazer SB Highs and they seem to be built with better materials than a traditional 77 Blazer.
Nike makes blazers and dunks in their sb line and I would love to see how they're made. I had a feeling the regular Nike brand was kinda trash. Most mainline Nikes are nowadays
I managed to get a pair of Adidas Originals Immotile a skateboarding shoe never worn them but having collected adidas for over 10 years I can say they are the best quality pair of Adidas I've ever bought the build quality is outstanding beat all the hype shoes hands down if you can find a pair I'd love for you to do a video on them

Of course you have to test the SB version. I've noticed you've only tested old nikes (af1 blazer Jordan1) decades old. Try some new silhouettes to compare to the older pairs!
I had several pair of theses back in the day when they originally came out. The construction was so much better then. They were actually double layered. Plus the toe cap was a full leather toe cap. Then the suede piece was placed on top. The pairs retro pairs that Nike makes today are far from the way that they were originally constructed. Then they double the price. Which is a total disappointment. I've gotten retro shoes from other brands where the quality is premium for a much lower & reasonable price. C'mon Nike. Smh.....
Great video. In the 90s there was a shoe company that all of us skaters wore that had those patches except it was rubber like the sole. They were Vision Street Wear.
if you just dab the seams on any shoe with krazy glue they with last til the shoe dies basically. it soaks into the suede so good so you just use very little

By the way Weston, since you hate fake leather - what are your opinions regarding the "new, improved" Stan Smith that ONLY comes in faux leather upper, but retails at the same price as their old leather shoes did? I find it outrageous if anything.

We used to use Shoe Goo in the 80’s on everything from Converse to Jordan’s, We’d put the Shoe Goo right where these Nike’s have the Blue Leather for Ollie’s… And then Airwalk and Vision Street Wear Shoes came out and they already had the reinforced area but would only last a little longer than normal shoes Soooo back to Shoe Goo…🤷🏻♂️😂
Cutting in half the SB version would be really cool. I'd kinda love that for a bunch of the different shoes you've cut in half before, like this or Vans for example just to see the difference between the regular ones and skateboarding ones and whether or not they actually are that different (which I assume they would be but you never know)
You should do the NB# 1010 they are a skate shoes from New Balance but they’re supposed to have a lot of technology in them they call the Tiago Lemos 1010 they are consider top price skate shoes but I’m curious how much technology they actually put in the show New Balance always claims the higher the number in their shoes the more technology that goes into them

You should also try the Nike SB Blazers Edge. They are the SB version with the patches, and as far as I know, they are functional.

SB Blazers are great to skate, but most of the time I skate Jordan Retros as those are tanks.

Could you do Baffin Monsters? I have not seen any reviews on them. The are water proof, all season construction boots made in Canada.

We used to use Shoe Goo in the 80’s on everything from Converse to Jordan’s, We’d put the Shoe Goo right where these Nike’s have the Blue Leather for Ollie’s… And then Airwalk and Vision Street Wear Shoes came out and they already had the reinforced area but would only last a little longer than normal shoes Soooo back to Shoe Goo…🤷🏻♂️😂

Cutting in half the SB version would be really cool. I'd kinda love that for a bunch of the different shoes you've cut in half before, like this or Vans for example just to see the difference between the regular ones and skateboarding ones and whether or not they actually are that different (which I assume they would be but you never know)
You should do the NB# 1010 they are a skate shoes from New Balance but they’re supposed to have a lot of technology in them they call the Tiago Lemos 1010 they are consider top price skate shoes but I’m curious how much technology they actually put in the show New Balance always claims the higher the number in their shoes the more technology that goes into them
