Great info. Just started fishing the Roanoke, Chowan and some other Easter NC rivers the past couple of years. Not the easiest nut to crack but slowing learning. Looking forward to applying these tips. No doubt it will help. Much appreciated.👍
@@jacknelson4212 Roanoke is my favorite river right now. I have spent some time on the Chowan and I like fishing there as well. The river systems in ENC are very good fisheries . Thanks for watching and for the feed back very much appreciated!👊🏼🔥
Great video. I finally got to fish a little. With my boat motor still down I was able to go up and fish with my good friend Hank (BassGeek on UA-cam) and see what it's like to fish with front facing sonar. We fished 2 of his lakes outside Big Stone Gap VA.... We had a good time fishing and family fun. That way of fishing for sure has it place in bass fishing. I'll still beat the banks but there are times where I can see it have it's place to catch bass. Enjoyed your video. Good luck next time on the water..
Oh cool I have seen some of bass geeks stuff. He has a good channel. I haven’t dabbled into any of the FFS stuff but I will say I am intrigued by it and have had thoughts of trying it. But pulling the trigger on that equipment is a big deal to me. Thanks for watching I appreciate it. 👊🏼🔥
@@rjcornett179trx Yeah I'll continue to fish my SC lakes the way I do but I'll admit watching those bass react to baits (topwater and swim baits) live is a cool deal. I'll say everyone says it's easy to catch the bass you see live on FFS but I'm here to say it is not. They turn away more than they strike if your stuff is not what they want to eat. Very Very frustrating how they can tell the difference and not be fooled. Even topwater walking baits. You can see them under the spook or sammy or Ima and look at the plug and turn away....it's crazy.
@@joeyTR21X pretty sure by now as many people as there are using it that just like anything else the fish will get conditioned to it. But I can tell from the video I have seen on it that’s probably very cool to fish with just to see fishes reaction to different baits and presentations.
thank you very much for the tips one thing i don't like is how a lot of people don't try to help people that fish from the bank but that is how everyone started fishing
@@bigmikefishingchonicles9950 I walked a many a mile around a pond and the lakes and rivers I grew up around. Thanks for watching as always Mike! 👍🏻👊🏼🔥
With all the rain, I'm certain Roanoke is interesting to say the least. Are you inclinced then to the smaller river like Scuppernong, Cashie, Little Alligatoer at Gum Neck .
@@carystrickland6736 I had to replace a seat and bearing on my boat trailer so while we are having all this rain I took care of that. Hopefully by next weekend all the local rivers will be in somewhat better shape. If not I’m sure I will go anyway. Most of those smaller rivers you mentioned I haven’t fished. I have fished the Cashie a little and years ago fished some on the alligator river. Thanks for watching and for your comments. 👊🏼🔥👍🏻
The other day, I saw two small mouth sitting on top of a fairly flat rock about 2ft deep, facing up stream. The rock sits in the middle of the main current, that is 4-5 ft deep. Clear water, clear and sunny day, 10am, low river conditions, current was not not overly fast. What were they looking for? Great vid!
@@wciii3591 Thanks for watching. Probably food!! lol If there was current and rocks nearby they were probably scoping things out and wanting to eat. But that’s cool that you could see them in the clear water and observe. Did you try and catch them?

@@wciii3591 if the water is that clear you can see them more than likely they see you as well. A more natural approach may be better. A small soft plastic or maybe a stick bait. You kind of have to let the fish tell you what they want try different things and see what gets bit.
Another question. We had the same storm go through. Our river is up some and only lightly muddy. When will be the best time to hit our river and with what bait?
@@wciii3591 to me anytime you can go is the best time. lol but I will say sometimes after a ton of rain all the new fresh water in the river will make fishing a little tougher for a couple days before the water and the fish get back to normal in feeding again. But you never know there are no absolutes in fishing. That’s why I say when you can go…. Just go! Thanks for watching and for the great questions!!👍🏻👍🏻

@@rjcornett179trx No, I was on a morning stroll. Do you think a swim bait/plug or bottom bouncer would have been better?
