All this is true lol. Even though my puppy was super cute, the first 3 weeks were miserable. He bit everything, ate anything, wouldn't listen, and peed everywhere. He's 5 months now and my bestest friend. My depression and anxiety has all about vanished after the first month. He's the best cuddle buddy, silliest goofball, and friendliest pup I've ever met. If you take water away a few hours before bed and then take them out right before bed and then put them in crate to sleep you and then right away in the morning you won't have those middle of the night potty break
Do you not get thirsty during the night and wake up in the middle of the night for a quick glass of water? So why should we take that away from dogs? They get thirsty at night too.
@@KiranSingh-es2ot I mean sure but as long as they are hydrated throughout the day it will be ok. It's just so that the first couple of weeks you can teach them not to go at night and also not in their crate or house. :)
@@savannamackie3720 you can't train them to NOT go at night. Puppies that are young can only hold in their bladder for 3-4 hours depending on how many months they are (eg. 2 month old puppy can hold their bladder for 3 hours). So no, do not leave them thirsty at night. Just do your job and wake up and take responsibility! You will feed a baby at any time of the night depending on how hungry they are..so do the same for your puppy and give them water when they need it
Quick note: I have a 2 year old beagle mix. When we first got her we made sure she had a drink before she went to bed then took her out to go potty. We put her in her crate at night (and still do she feels safe in it) And she had no water all night and still never has water at night. In the morning we would take her out of the crate and outside then back inside where water was avalible right outside her crate. It IS possible for a puppy to go the whole night with no water. ESPECIALLY if you play with them close to bed time so they're tired out. Puppies sleep ALOT and have alot of growing to do. My dog has never had an accident in her crate. And not giving her access to water over night has done her no harm at all as she has water avalible to her the rest of the day that gets refilled often. I know it's a controversial topic on if dogs should have access to water or not at night. But aslong as your puppy is properly hydrated they CAN last the night with no water. When my dog as a puppy she often went most of the day without drinking (she had access to water. She was asleep for the majority of the day and all night especially as a 8 week old)
Guys Jesus Christ is coming back ! Turn away from ur sins , repent ! Turn away from ur wicked ways . And ask yourself “ am I truly living for God ? Not only with a puppy, when you get dog, your live will revolve around them. I live alone so I have to plan everything I do around his schedule. He is almost 4 yrs old so he can stay alone, but not all day. It takes planning :) and sacrifices. But the love you get.. that is special :)
She is ADORABLE !!!! For your downstairs crate, make sure you are leaving it open when you are hanging out watching TV. Keep the crate where you are, don't put it in another area where the puppy may feel that it's being segregated. We had the problem with our dog, he wouldn't get NEAR his crate because I had it in the to her room. I moved it to our family room where we watch TV and hang out the most and I actually got in the crate and shut the door so he could see it's ok to go in. That very night, we were watching TV and he went in and laid down on his own. They learn to really love it

I live with a persian cat, she's 19 months now, I don't remember my life before her, she's the best girl in the world! I wanted a cat ALL my life, and finally at 43 I found my precious girl! My life now is full of joy (and hair everywhere)!
I completely relate. My two cats are my world. I never truly truly loved before my two babies came into my life. One is a blue torty and one is a ragdoll.
I have three dogs, and I agree with this. Especially being up in the middle of the night. It's very common to regret buying a puppy at first, but that goes away once routines are established and everything settles down.
I think some people stress the hard parts and responsibilities of having a puppy too much and then others stress the happy go-lucky side too much, but I think you did a really good job with balancing the two. This was very helpful! I’m getting my miniature schnauzer in 2 weeks and am sooooo excited because I’ve been wanting a puppy my whole life!
I‘ve wanted a puppy for 9 years and I finally got mine 6 days ago and I got the puppy blues n regret getting him so much lmao😭 (Btw I’m keeping him) BUTTT this really showed me that Puppy’s aren’t it for me like after this pup I’ll never get a puppy again I’ll only adopt old dogs and I’m so serious about it
Me and my family just got a baby yorkie. I'm 13 and basically, all the responsibility is on me, since I'm the one who was begging for years. Honestly, sometimes I question if it was a good choice but I know that when he grows up and is trained, then we'll be best friends.
I have two dogs -- Nala and Luna. We rescued both when they were puppies & they make our life complete. It was very difficult having a 1 year old dog and a new puppy, but somehow we managed lol! They are best friends and it is such a joy to see them play and snuggle together.
A blanket over their crate is a life saver! Takes my 12 week puppy 5 minutes to quiet down/ fall asleep, but if i don’t have a blanket over it he will cry for 30+ minutes
When I got my goldfish let me tell you I got a second one and it was quite gross I put it into my bedroom and I was like where the heck did it go I looked at my cat and she kinda eaten it. So I took it away from my cat mouth This is why I don't like fish they die easily.
Thank you for talking about the expenses of having a dog! So many people get pets on a whim and are then shocked when they realize that pets cost money!
My family has a 7 year old cat and I didn't understand how much of a gift she's been to my life until I moved out. I now only see her on the occasions that I visit my parents in my hometown but she fills my life with so much joy every time I do
#10 automatically deletes the other 9😊. You are a responsable human towards your dog hence kudos to you! Cash is adorable, may you love each other for many years to come!
Leo yea when I first got a puppy I was like oh okay maybe stay up for a few minutes a night BUT NO you will be asleep and you will wake up to them crying and your freaking out cause you are wondering what’s wrong but all they want is to go pee real quick
My boyfriend and his family got a french bulldog puppy almost a year ago when I was on holiday. As soon as I got back I helped raised that baby and a few months later they got another one for a friend, those babies have been my LIFE and I don’t even live with them. After a year of understanding how much work a puppy is and learning through those gorgeous babies I have bought my own and can not wait to get him💙 I understand the work and the tiredness but the love and companionship is something I’ve been longing for 12 years and I can’t wait 🥰
Tip #7 is my absolute favorite!! Getting a puppy is overwhelming because you don’t want to do anything wrong for them and there’s SO much contradicting information-but like you said you will know what works for YOUR puppy ☺️
We got our dalmation puppy in August last year and I can so relate to everything in this video (except for the first thing, our puppy could already hold his pee the whole night when we got him). Our dog has been such a good influence on our relationship and he made us so much happier.
I have 4 kids including twins who were preemies, and right now im taking care of 3 7 week old puppies. They will be 8 weeks tomorrow. They are definitely like babies but much easier because I can crate them instead of golding and nursing them 24/7
We have three pups. Two huskies (Shadow and Mishka) and a golden retriever (Hope). All girls and about cat Loki. It's a full house, but I love them all. There's nothing like sweet little eyes looking into your soul. Your life will be full of surprises and fun! And you will know exactly what your girl needs. 🙂
As someone who has grown up with dogs (currently have 3, but total of 7 dogs my whole life), a way to help with the potty issue is put a bell on the door leading to the backyard or if you live in an apartment the front door. As well as if they are awake, the first few weeks while potty training take them out every half hour to hour, and then slowly increase the time. Let the puppy sleep, and as soon as they are up take them outside to go to the bathroom. Also please never use potty pads, most dogs think its okay to go in the house with the use of those. If you are crate training, and that is where they sleep at night or when home alone, make sure that the space is big enough for them to be able to turn around, but not to be able to walk. If the area is more for just fixing their sleeping position, they won't want to go to the bathroom in the crate and will wait until they are taken outside. As they become more reliable and potty trained then giving them a bigger space is ideal. this is for anyone looking at getting a puppy, especially with quarantine going on.
I got a pup because we lost our dog suddenly, and my baby was 3 months old when we first got him. I went CRAZY the first few weeks, it was so hard. We are so lucky he adapted so quickly. He’s a St. Bernard/Bernese/Pyrenees so we’re thankful he’s big dog laid back and has a huge bladder 😊❤️
For anyone who has a new pup or planning on get one (or several), here is a book I would highly recommend. It's called " How to Be Your Dog's Best Friend: The Classic Training Manual for Dog Owners" by the Monks of New Skete. We actually rescued a 4 year old Australian Shepherd last year named Sydney (she is 5 now) and we were able to use a lot of the principles in the book even though she wasn't a puppy anymore. She warmed up to us crazy-quickly and has been our furry love-bug ever since.
OMG!! I have been watching many videos this week as my puppy arrives this morning and this has been THE MOST USEFUL!!! Thank you so much as I am a practical person and this has helped me look at the common knowledge things at a different angle and can make better decisions 🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜
I have a cat (had two actually, but one got old and died) and I think cats are the best pets (for me at least). They are cute and hilarious, they want to cuddle with you and talk to you. And they are just so little work - they use the toilet on their own (you just need to show them once) and you don't need to discipline them because they do what they want anyway 😆 I love how independent they are. The only downside is that you can't take them anywhere because they like to stay at their place.
We have a black and tan hound mix puppy that we got from a rescue. Her name is Athena. She is just like having a second child and quickly bonded with our son, they are best buds! I can't imagine life without her now! ❤🐕
This video is so helpful! We are getting our first puppy in June! I can't wait. Can you do a video on the first things you will need to buy before getting a puppy??? Thanks girl!

There was a puppy I've just taken in called amanthi!! She's a gorgeous little thing and was found in a plastic bag on the side of the road and needed a home! I thought I'd try and give her the best I could possibly give her... Need to go to the vet and get full details on her but this video clarified alot of things for me, I'm travelling and only 20 years old so it's like having a child for me, a huge responsibility and Im so thankful for her company :) thanks for the video x
@@seokiia5756 Yes I'm very lucky, she is the best dog ever. :) When she was younger I developed this routine: Before She went to bed I would brush her coat & teeth and put her to bed, at the same time everyday. I think dogs benefit a lot from routines. After a while, when I started brushing her in the evening, she would already fall asleep on my lap because the brain knows whats coming. It's a bit like the pavlov effect, where the dogs start drooling when they hear the bell. With a 'bedtime routine' the brain starts releasing sleep hormones at the same time everyday and together with some actions like brushing, the brain knows it's time to sleep. Maybe a little tip: If you pup wakes you up at night, put her outside for the 'buisness' and put her back in her sleeping spot. NO playing, NO talking (If you are still potty training, praising is allowed) and put her straight back. Don't give any attention and ignore her, go back to bed. I don't know how old she is but older puppies should be able to sleep more than 8 hours at once. They need to learn because in the nest they would all wake each other up at night to do their thing and play. Puppy needs to learn new routines. Goodluck :) Sorry for the novel lol
These are all so true. I got my puppy like 2 week ago and it’s rlly fun but hard. He’s Alr potty trained and knows how to sit. Tmr is his first Shot and shower. At first I was so annoyed and wanted to return him really bad but now I’m addicted to him. He’s sleeping on me right now and it’s so cute
im getting a puppy for free in 3 weeks and i’ve been doing research 🧚♀️✨ Im so happy that I get to rise my own dog and train her to be the best dog i’ve had by far
My cat's called Logan, he just turned 3. I adopted him in early September and I don't know how we'd be getting through self-isolation without him! He's our biggest source of entertainment throughout the day!!
I have a yorkshire puppy! But I have dogs since I was a child. It's my second yorkshire, and I had a boxer too. They are very cuddly. Congratulations! It is an amazing experience.
@@HealthNutNutrition , I love yorkies and boxers. The Boxer it's a very good dog, they are very protective. My mum it was like a mum for him, and when we were at home and he didn't see her he searches around the house. But right now I live in an apartment, yorkies are better to keep things in order at home due to its size.
From one dog mom to another, my best advice is to trust your gut. You and Matt know Cashew better than anyone else and you will find your way! But always trust the gut, in my case getting a second opinion from a different vet literally saved my dog's life. Also, if you decide to share your bed be ready to never get it back!
You are doing great!!! Just remember not to leave stuffies in her kennel unattended or at night. Some pups are great with stuffies very young, then can destroy and ingest during teething. We had a period where our Mastiff had no stuffies, now he’s full grown and loves his “babies” and is so gentle. Enjoy your little sweetie💖
Shiromi-chan I got one about two and a half months ago... get ready for boundless energy followed by lots of sleep. My guy is a picky eater!!! I’ve gone through 5 different foods and he’s a primodonna and loves royal canine puppy!! Oh and he will follow you everywhere!!!!
Yep, 100% right on everything, but the therapy part is one that is not as talked about. I got my first dog a year ago, and I am so glad that I did, especially now with the isolation of Covid-19. I am a widow who lives alone and could easily see myself getting depressed after a month of isolation, but my dog keeps my mind and time well occupied. That said, a dog does require a lot of time and attention, which is easier to deal with if there’s two of you. And one more thing that I haven’t seen talked about anywhere is the bonding process, it is a process. I was under the mistaken impression that it would be love at first sight for both of us, but it wasn’t, although there was an attraction at first sight on my part. For me, and I think for my dog as well, true love developped over time. It took about 10 or 11 months of getting to know each other, and learning to live with each other, before I could look at him and feel absolute love for him.
A tip for when you go out is a few hours before instead of leaving water put ice cubes in there bowl so they stay hydrated but are not gulping down water so it makes them not need to pee as much
One of my main worries is whether I should adopt from a trusted breeder, or rehome from a shelter. I'm aware that dogs who have been rehomed have usually had tough lives in their previous home, and as a first time dog owner I don't think I'd be able to facilitate the needs of a rescue animal, I feel it'd be cruel to get an animal that wouldnt get the best care out there. On the other hand, buying from breeders has always felt strange to me, I'm not fully educated on the breeder community and the only things I've heard have been about how breeders mostly want money and don't care for the animals, in which case, I don't want to support that business. I have in mind what kind of dog would be suitable for my household, and most shelters near me only have dogs that I know I won't be able to manage (behavioural issues, illness etc.) Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated
Me my brother and my dad are getting a dog today! We’re so excited but sadly I’m having to go back to college in March but thankfully my dad will be at home most of the time and my relatives near a few houses away so they can look after her if need be. We’re nervous for the journey but so so excited!
So by the way you usually dont have to worry about vaccines and spay/neuter and stuff like that if you get a puppy from a SHELTER becuse somtimes shelters give like free vet care at a certin vet clinic if you adopt always here in Florida I have three cats that are from a shelter well one we rescued the other 2 are from a shelter. But we got free neutering for them which can usuly cost about 100- to 500 dollars so mabey think adoption first!
After years of asking for if we could get a dog, my dad finally is ok with it😁. Now I’m just doing my research and I’m so excited. We’re getting a dog within 2 months and I just want to be clear on how to properly care for em😌
Kim B that’s actually not really great for your dog. As long as you make sure you can socialize it and leave it alone at the appropriate time (to prevent separation anxiety), you’ll be good
Also to help with less accidents and night you can provide a smaller crate, this gives them less space to use the bathroom. Also don’t get a crate that is uncomfortably small of course
I have a golden doodle that’s 4 years old and I can say that the first day when you take the puppy home for the first time , you will be up all night but in my experience that lasted one day, the second night is completely fine.
My pup was 2 months old when I first got him and he was soo sick kennel cough, skin mites, intestinal problems so he’d puke anything he’d eat and anything that stayed in him was straight diarrhea so he was super underweight. It was awful, but I’d do it a million times again just looking at him so healthy and glowing now oh and 50 pounds heavier as well 😂. He’s an American Fox Hound and his name is Logan ❤️
Thankfully I'm already trained with kids and yes kids are more work in my opinion. Be careful with the stress and anxiety with dogs because when they are adult dogs they also feel the anxiety and energy and it can come out as aggression towards other people and animals so learn to be calm on walks and in control
Ours looks exaaactly like yours. Hes 11 months now but is a German shepherd/Boxer. 70 lbs, short hair tan, floppy ears, black face with long snout instead of the typical boxer face
the lack of sleep was so anxiety-inducing for me I actually was incapable of handling it. I attached an x-pen to my puppy's crate and went against all training protocol and left puppy pads outside her crate in the pen. LUCKILY everything worked out lol she stopped peeing overnight at around 4 months and doesn't have accidents anymore. I'm actually glad I did it.
Ugh I remember being a zombie when I got my first puppy (I have never not had a dog in my home, but my boy was MY first dog that I was responsible for). He is almost 2 now, but we are picking up our second puppy in a week, so I am trying to refresh my memory lmao
Ishika Verma I got my puppy 2/25 and I believe she stopped completely crying at bed time about a week later. She still wakes up early though (6-6:30am). It’s so hard but it does get better as long as you do things the right way. Since she’ll be three months tomorrow, we wake up every 4 hours to take her out to go potty and most of the time we have to wake her up to go
AHHHH I AM GETTING A PUPPY IN 4 WEEKS!! I am so excited she’s a Borebol mastiff and it’s been 8 years since I got my dog and so I need to refresh myself on puppy info!!!!
If you put cashio in a small pen at night puppys are supposed to not pee in small pens so then in the morning bring them straight outside to see so you won't have to bring him out during the night
I got a kitten, he was very loud and wanted to be held all night. I’m accustomed to not sleeping a lot and I was fine so it really does just depend on how you sleep and your sleeping schedule before
I'm getting a puppy in December, because in my country we are quarantined again! On December the shops will open and hopefully shelters do too, and then after December we are gonna be quarantined for 3 MONTHS!! so i think it would be a perfect time to adopt a puppy since im gonna be home for 3 whole months... 💗
Hi Nik! I love your channel especially now with Cashew!!! Consistency is the key!!! Good luck to you and Matt! I love your toy basket, can you share where is it from? Thanks!!!❤️🐾🐕
Im 14 and i really want to get a puppy. I have been dreaming of getting a puppy since i was like 6. I searched up so many different breeds, training techniques and dry/wet dog foods and toys and everything dog related. I even know what food i would be feeding if i got a dog, what toys id be getting and everything else, the price cost is quite affordable but i still need to find everything about vaccinations. I do good in school and i would love to spend a lot of time outside and i really do think getting a puppy would be really good for me. But i am still frightened i might not raise it right even though i watched so much training videos. And im not sure i will cope with everything a dog needs, does anyone have any suggestions that might make up my mind on getting a dog? Please...
if you’re not sure maybe you can foster first it see how you do dog sitting. it might give you a taste of what it’d be like. it’s a late response but just thought it’d help
@@michelle-rj4sc Hi Michelle! Thanks for replying! I made up my mind on getting a golden retriever, it would be great if i could get an adult dog already, but at the same time i want a pup to raise it my way! And yes, it is a good idea for someone else, but not me. I can't foster, because it's just too much headache with all the papers, and honestly not even sure there's such a thing in Ireland! There isn't even that many dogs in adoption centers, and for the past 7 years (all time i've lived here...) i haven't even seen a homeless dog!!! And I will get a golden retriever when the insane prices drop (currently pups are €2000 when 6 months ago they were €500). Thanks, All the best...
Blaxis awh thats so cute! Ugh i need a dog so badly, its the only thing i think about all the time (literally, in school, when im having fun, with family, on a hike in the woods) and i get so sad because i dont see myself being able to get one any time soon :( i need a dog for so so many reasons. Have fun with your pup!
Hi! I'm new to your channel and am LOVING it! Cashew is adorable!! I'm 32 and have always had dogs around me, but I'm finally ready (and contemplating) to get a dog. So when I saw the title of your video I had to watch it. If she starts chewing on harder surfaces she might benefit from a Nylabone...Puppies will sometimes seek out hard (sometimes wood) surfaces to chew while teething if they don't have some sort of bone. They can help strengthen and clean their teeth, easier to digest as well. It's the only type of "bone" I would give my dog. Can't wait to see her grow!!!
Yes! Puppies are amazing. But if you are going to be the only one taking care of your little pup (what I mean by that is taking care of your pup is taking him on walks, taking him out to use the bathroom, playing with him, picking up his poop, giving him baths, brushing his hair, training him, giving him food, giving him water, cleaning out his bowls, cleaning up his accidents etc. I said his cause my puppy is a his) then I really hope you are not busy because they do require high maintenance. And don’t leave them alone for to long because they can get separation anxiety or boredom. That’s why me and my brother both take care of my 8 month old mini poodle that we got 4 months ago. Of course I love but at times it can be hard...
Same, but Im not gonna push it bc I finally just persuaded them to get me a share horse, so it would be so ungrateful and rude to keep asking for more. Plus they would never bc it was literally in their wedding vows that we would never get a pet. I can still dream tho 😂
i'm 12 and my family adopted a dog when i was 4 or 5 and he is still healthy to this day. i support adopting dogs more than buying one because you're actually saving a life instead of giving money to the guys who use dogs for money.
not to be dramatic, but ive never met cashew and i already love her
I wish you could all meet her!! I feel like I’m just so in love I try to tone it down on social media but I’m just the happiest dog owner

Do not remove water. Period. This can cause dehydration and other issues. This is NOT how you potty train a puppy.
You will feed a baby at any time of the night depending on how hungry they are..so do the same for your puppy and give them water when they need it
Quick note:
I have a 2 year old beagle mix.
When we first got her we made sure she had a drink before she went to bed then took her out to go potty.
We put her in her crate at night (and still do she feels safe in it)
And she had no water all night and still never has water at night.
She was asleep for the majority of the day and all night especially as a 8 week old)
The way she's sleeping on your lap!! Puppylicious.
☺️💛

Not only with a puppy, when you get dog, your live will revolve around them. I live alone so I have to plan everything I do around his schedule. He is almost 4 yrs old so he can stay alone, but not all day. It takes planning :) and sacrifices. But the love you get.. that is special :)
Dependency is not live.
They learn to really love it
It’s a 13-15 year commitment. Crazy expensive vet bills. I have an English bulldog so ya it’s an expense but I ♥️ him
I’m getting a puppy and the corona virus thing is here so I have 6 months to be home with it and train it won’t be worried about his exercises

I live with a persian cat, she's 19 months now, I don't remember my life before her, she's the best girl in the world! I wanted a cat ALL my life, and finally at 43 I found my precious girl! My life now is full of joy (and hair everywhere)!
Cat's are so much better then dogs in every way.
I completely relate. My two cats are my world. I never truly truly loved before my two babies came into my life. One is a blue torty and one is a ragdoll.
@@cheralynmiller847 I would love to have 10 cats, but my husband would divorce me probably!
Ambee Gaming I think they are equally as good

I have three dogs, and I agree with this. Especially being up in the middle of the night. It's very common to regret buying a puppy at first, but that goes away once routines are established and everything settles down.
I think some people stress the hard parts and responsibilities of having a puppy too much and then others stress the happy go-lucky side too much, but I think you did a really good job with balancing the two. This was very helpful! I’m getting my miniature schnauzer in 2 weeks and am sooooo excited because I’ve been wanting a puppy my whole life!
I've been wanting a dog for like six years and its finally happening in two months im so exited.
Sreehamsi Koganti did you get your puppy/dog?
I‘ve wanted a puppy for 9 years and I finally got mine 6 days ago and I got the puppy blues n regret getting him so much lmao😭
(Btw I’m keeping him) BUTTT this really showed me that Puppy’s aren’t it for me like after this pup I’ll never get a puppy again I’ll only adopt old dogs and I’m so serious about it
Sameee

Thank you for talking about the expenses of having a dog! So many people get pets on a whim and are then shocked when they realize that pets cost money!

Awe!! I bet you can't wait to get your own some day!
#10 automatically deletes the other 9😊. You are a responsable human towards your dog hence kudos to you! Cash is adorable, may you love each other for many years to come!
Ok lets do this... gets to step 1: You will loose sleep.... oh no!!!
I know right lolll
Leo I already lose so much sleep
So loose
Leo yea when I first got a puppy I was like oh okay maybe stay up for a few minutes a night BUT NO you will be asleep and you will wake up to them crying and your freaking out cause you are wondering what’s wrong but all they want is to go pee real quick
I do this without a dog!!😂... I go to sleep at like 1 or 2am!!
He’s a St. Bernard/Bernese/Pyrenees so we’re thankful he’s big dog laid back and has a huge bladder 😊❤️
smaller dogs have smaller bladders
... something to think about for anyone thinking of getting a puppy.
For anyone who has a new pup or planning on get one (or several), here is a book I would highly recommend. It's called "
How to Be Your Dog's Best Friend: The Classic Training Manual for Dog Owners" by the Monks of New Skete. We actually rescued a 4 year old Australian Shepherd last year named Sydney (she is 5 now) and we were able to use a lot of the principles in the book even though she wasn't a puppy anymore. She warmed up to us crazy-quickly and has been our furry love-bug ever since.
I will have to look into that book!
OMG!! I have been watching many videos this week as my puppy arrives this morning and this has been THE MOST USEFUL!!! Thank you so much as I am a practical person and this has helped me look at the common knowledge things at a different angle and can make better decisions 🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜
How are you doing with your puppy now?
I have a cat (had two actually, but one got old and died) and I think cats are the best pets (for me at least). They are cute and hilarious, they want to cuddle with you and talk to you. And they are just so little work - they use the toilet on their own (you just need to show them once) and you don't need to discipline them because they do what they want anyway 😆 I love how independent they are. The only downside is that you can't take them anywhere because they like to stay at their place.
Is there anything you can’t do. You’re such an awesome role model. So calm cool collected. Go girl!
We have a black and tan hound mix puppy that we got from a rescue. Her name is Athena. She is just like having a second child and quickly bonded with our son, they are best buds! I can't imagine life without her now! ❤🐕
Awe! Great name 😊
This video is so helpful! We are getting our first puppy in June! I can't wait. Can you do a video on the first things you will need to buy before getting a puppy??? Thanks girl!
how did that go?
To get, my extensively researched list:
Harness
Interactive Toys
Teething Toys
Plush Toys
Treat-Releasing Toys
Fetch/Tug Toys
Dog Food Container
Bitter Puppy Spray
Food Bowl
Water Bowl
Travel Water Bottle
Poo Bags+Holder
Puppy Bed
Identification Tag
Puppy Brush
Toothbrush + Toothpaste
Puppy Shampoo + Conditioner
Cleaning Supplies

Toy Box
A couple of these things, like the Toy Box and Dog Food Container and Bitter Puppy Spray, are optional. However, I recommend all of them, as they help organization and other things.

I was super lucky that my dog Charlie slept 8+ hours from day 2 and now she sleeps until I get up and she just follows my lead.
Your so lucky! My puppy went to sleep at 9 and woke up at 1. She’s such a handful 😂!
@@seokiia5756
Yes I'm very lucky, she is the best dog ever. :)
When she was younger I developed this routine: Before She went to bed I would brush her coat & teeth and put her to bed, at the same time everyday.
She’s so cute!! 😍
Toys can get expensive, I go to goodwill and buy a lot of stuffed animals there, I wash them and give them to my dog! ❤️😘
We are getting a dog in a few days and this really helps
These are all so true. I got my puppy like 2 week ago and it’s rlly fun but hard. He’s Alr potty trained and knows how to sit. Tmr is his first Shot and shower. At first I was so annoyed and wanted to return him really bad but now I’m addicted to him. He’s sleeping on me right now and it’s so cute
Yes puppies need a lot of attention. My dog is 9 years old and he still demands attention all the time but I love it.

I have a yorkshire puppy! But I have dogs since I was a child. It's my second yorkshire, and I had a boxer too. They are very cuddly. Congratulations! It is an amazing experience.
Yorkies are so cute!!
Cashew is adorable!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Having two small dogs, they are the best thing that came into my life
Awe! Thanks Carrie!
I wish everyone the happiest lives they could live. You deserve it. You’re worth something, don’t ever doubt it.
From one dog mom to another, my best advice is to trust your gut. You and Matt know Cashew better than anyone else and you will find your way! But always trust the gut, in my case getting a second opinion from a different vet literally saved my dog's life. Also, if you decide to share your bed be ready to never get it back!
Love this tip! Thank you 😊
You are doing great!!!
Ok good to know!

Cashew is the cutest dog in the world it just fills my heart that she loves u and u guys love her it’s just so sweet I love it ❤️❤️❤️
Yep, 100% right on everything, but the therapy part is one that is not as talked about.
A tip for when you go out is a few hours before instead of leaving water put ice cubes in there bowl so they stay hydrated but are not gulping down water so it makes them not need to pee as much
Our mastiff toilet trained very quickly! Faster than any other dog I've ever owned! Cashew is soooo cute!
I've got 4 babies so needless to say I've got my hands full but your pup is adorable*👌👍
I haven’t even met cashew but I love her already and it’s my first time watching these vids and I’m in love with cashew
I have in mind what kind of dog would be suitable for my household, and most shelters near me only have dogs that I know I won't be able to manage (behavioural issues, illness etc.)
Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated
If you're in quarantine make sure you don't get a puppy, puppies need to socialize with lots of people and other dogs you can't do this in quarantine!

Kim B that’s actually not really great for your dog. As long as you make sure you can socialize it and leave it alone at the appropriate time (to prevent separation anxiety), you’ll be good
Niicki O aw damn i forgot about that
Also to help with less accidents and night you can provide a smaller crate, this gives them less space to use the bathroom.

Thank you for all the reminders. I haven’t had a puppy in 16 years and I needed all the reminders! Great video! Hugs to Cashew! I’ll be following her!

Since she’ll be three months tomorrow, we wake up every 4 hours to take her out to go potty and most of the time we have to wake her up to go
tip: take as many photos of your pup as you can. puppy or adult, you won’t regret it.

Please...

Thanks for watching Scott!! 🐾
I sleep soo late’!!!! Like I could be up still at 6:00am or 7:00am so you know it’s kinda perfect :3 I love puppies
This video is very helpful.
I don’t know why I’m watching . My parents will never get me a puppy
Crisp Lover Samee I want one so bad tho
That’s what my parents said. Now I have my 5 month old golden retriever puppy. Takes time and persistence
I thought that too but now i have a lab puppy
Same I really want a dog but my parents says no I tried so hard
Same, but Im not gonna push it bc I finally just persuaded them to get me a share horse, so it would be so ungrateful and rude to keep asking for more. Plus they would never bc it was literally in their wedding vows that we would never get a pet. I can still dream tho 😂
I'm saving this for when I'm going to get a puppy when I have my own place! Also i got.two pups on halloween!!
i'm 12 and my family adopted a dog when i was 4 or 5 and he is still healthy to this day.
i support adopting dogs more than buying one because you're actually saving a life instead of giving money to the guys who use dogs for money.
