    Nice idea but at almost 2k I’d rather get the leer/arb fiber glass ones

    Cool product, but way overpriced. If it was priced around $800-1000, I’m sure people would jump on it.

    How does it do at highway type speeds? Any movement or concerns with the tiedowns loosening or anything?

      I have one and it does great at highway speeds. Even with strong side and head winds of 20-25mph.

    Checked with local shop. For a top to fit a 1990 Ford Ranger is around $2400.00.
    I would check around. But that is a good indication of price.

    Cool idea but seems there is absolutely no security with this topper which is a huge important factor for me but awesome idea and cool unique product.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  2 роки тому +1

      I get that but it’s not truly meant to be on 100% of the time like a typical camper. If you wanted to run a long cable I guess you could lock it to the d rings in the truck, but a POS thief can still take it if they really want

    • @user-ch7kb7pe5r
      @user-ch7kb7pe5r 2 роки тому +3

      True, but then again Fiberglass toppers run the same risk. Regardless, if a thief wants to get into your truck they’ll find a way.

      Concept is still cool for sure. It’s on the same level of price as a leer camper shell depending on model but you can put it away easily if not needed.

      I used to have one and I had 4 posts in the ground that were just a little taller than the bedrail. I’d back between them and after I undid the clamps I’d lift and block each side on some 2” blocks I made and slide 2x4s in the gap and set it on the posts. I had a hole in the 2x and the post to pin it in place. I also put hooks on the posts to run straps tying it down.

  • @mikedowling3569
    @mikedowling3569 2 роки тому

    Kinda neat, but it looks like it would leak like a sieve. There’s zero security features. There’s no rear brake light. There’s no means of interior illumination. There’s (apparently) no cab to bed pass through which is very handy to have. It also looks like that rear flap would literally beat the paint off your tailgate at highway speeds. For $2k, if that’s what they cost, I don’t see the the cost to value ratio penciling - far from it. It seems way over-priced for all the drawbacks, but that’s just me. Like we used to say in the car biz, there’s an ass for every seat (meaning someone will buy it regardless).
