This was the first recipe I made from you, and here I am 12 years later to make it again (terrible memory so I don’t have it down by now), I’m quite sick this week. So good, so easy thank you Maangchi!
I'm very glad to hear that. I love this tea, so I drink it as my snack everyday. I add some pine nuts to enjoy the taste. Do you also like the pulp? I love it. : )
I never saw any cooking video like yours, you say everything clear and quick. Never drag or waste time. thank you and I am going to make it. bless you.
I made this in small batches every month and drink it during my menstrual cycle. Its very warm, comforting and help ease the pain. Thank you for the recipe, Maangchi!
This will be my first comment on UA-cam ever! I am current sick, just made this and sipping on it right now. I couldn't taste anything due to stuffy nose and congestion. All I am tasting are the bitterness and spiciness of the ginger, the sweet of honey. It's very soothing actually, I would rather drink this everyday than taking cough drops. I've also made your dinner rolls, japchae, chicken noodle soup and noodle, beef rib soup and strawberry jam. I have to say they are never disappointing. My kids are picky eater and they love all the ones I mentioned above. Thank you dear! Love from California.
My mom is in love with ginger tea but loves it fresh and pulpy like this. I use to buy it specifically from one store in nyc and drive it all the way down to DC.... :) but now I will just make it for her!!!
Maangchi Thankyou so much sweet lady! I am new sub! So fun and exciting! No matter how many times question is asked you are answering and nicely. I need to try this with my whole fam. Everyone has been sick with nasty flu.😳Thankyou!🇰🇷🇺🇸
If you find yuja, slice it into thin matchsticks and mix with sugar and put the mixture into a glass jar. Keep it in the fridge. You can start eating right away. The ratio of the sliced yuja and sugar is 1:1 I wish I could make a video for it but Yuja is not available in North America where I'm living. Good luck!
I made this and I love it, I used to boil the ginger but I didn't need to boil it as it's grated. You're the most youtubeer we make your recipes and keep doing it over and over, we almost making the Korean fried chicken recipe every month.
my mother used to make ginger tea with the ground ginger... she gave me some when I had chicken pox.... my mother died last year... I miss her cooking and her tea.... thank you for sharing your video Maangchi
I make this al the time sometimes I use half or all maple syrup (a less expensive one) for a different flavour. This makes an awesome Christmas/autumn hot punch drink. I make a big 2-4 litre batch and either use as is or sometimes add whatever I’ve got like cinnamon sticks cloves etc and slices of lemon and/or orange. If you like it alcoholic add a shot of rum or whisky to the glass!
This is very good for strengthening the immune system especially in this covid-19 time we are in globally..interesting how this popped up in my recommendations and it was made in 2012.
Thank you, dear lady. Love your recipes and you do such a wonderful job explaining everything. I appreciate your efforts. Blessings to you and your family from Australia.
You are so cute and your energy makes me feel so happy about cooking! This recipe and the pomegranate tea are next on my cooking list~ Thank you for the wonderful recipes!!!
Thank you Maangchi! You are a lifesaver! This flu was kicking my butt till I started drinking you ginger tea! Sending great big hug and all my gratitude! ❤
yes, it is delicious and it cures sore throat, cold, and even stomachache! It sounds strange but it's true. : ) I drink a cup of this ginger tea everyday.
I just came across this video today. That's a lovely recipe. It's simple and tasty as well. I'm from Uttarakhand in India. It's a lovely hilly area. Though my mom and dad didn't stay there after they got married, however, my mom used to prepare a concoction with ginger and honey and gave it to me and my younger brother when we suffered from cold. I'm glad to know that even in Korea, people prepare this recipe. 🧡
Just made this and it's so good!! I used brown sugar and maple syrup instead of honey. I am drinking it now with some homemade candied lemons :)) Thank you Maangchi, it's so soul-warming!! Your recipes always make my day, and as a vegan I appreciate so much how you give vegetarian/vegan alternatives in your recipes! If you ever make a vegetarian cookbook (maybe even an e-book with vegetarian recipes from your current cookbooks?) I would buy it in a heartbeat!!
i had to come back to watch this in 2019 (that is how much i love your video, i also encourage all my friends to watch anytime they ask me how i know how to cook korean food, im a pro on making kimbap), whilst watching my daughter says she loves your video and she says bye to you after the end of all your videos to you.
I love this type of ginger tea, I'm part asain but not korean. But this tea is really yummy, I love the pulp, and it's helped me when I had stomach issues.
just tired this a little bit ago using ginger paste instead of fresh ( none in the house) and i have to say this ratio of ginger to honey is a great balance . any other time i've tried ginger tea its always been a bit much but this was really good. knowing how healthy it is for you seemed like a good idea since i've been fighting sickness this past month, tho i'm starting to feel better now. anyway thank you for this it was great :)
Ginger is a great "cure" for many ailments. Great for pregnancy morning sickness. I swear by ginger as I have a stomach condition that causes nausea and ginger works better than prescribed medication. We've gone organic here and I used to just buy ginger tea bags, but I'm getting fresh ginger and wanted a good recipe!! Thanks! I'm so happy I stumbled across your videos!
Hi, Maangchi!! I made this the other day and it came out really well. Even my mum likes it! So healthy and delicious! I thought the ginger would make it too hard to drink, but the honey beautifully balances it! Love it! Thank you, Maangchi!
This stuff is amazing and great if you have a cold, flu, or a sore throat caused by a virus due to the anti-viral properties of ginger. Add a little lemon and honey and you're gold! :)
Love that ginger tea! So good for many things...grated ginger juice helps ease pain too; cook with sesame oil and apply warm; cover with warm towel. Maangchi is the best. Love her recipes and positive energy. (& she has same Chagall's Magic Flute poster as I!)
Maangchi!!!! What a lovely gift idea!! I love that you added pine nuts!!! I never thought to do this! I used to make citron and ginger tea to keep in the fridge but only gave to friends that came over, not thinking that it would make lovely little gifts. Now I know how to make special for friends! Thank you, thank you.
I made this the other day. Here's a sugestion, zest about half a lime to add a bit off tangy flavour to it. It made for a delicious and refreshing summer tea! Best wishes from Australia to you maangchi!!
WOAH!! This is so weird! So I've been getting these horrible headaches lately, a read somewhere that if you drink Lemon, Ginger, and Honey tea everyday it helps with this sort of thing! AND THEN I WENT ON UA-cam NOT A FEW MINUTES LATER AND YOU POSTED THIS VIDEO!!! Needless to say I made the tea and it is already helping!! So thank you so much and this recipe is super delicious! I only made the nonpulpy one, but I am definitely going to do the other one later! Thank you!! AND I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
I just made this like 5 mins ago and I'm drinking it as I'm typing my comment... :D This is exactly the taste I'm looking for. I was at a Korean BBQ restaurant in Kuala Lumpur and they served this type of ginger tea after meal. I enjoyed it so much so I asked the lady boss if I could purchase some pre-made mix from her. She said, "No. Cannot buy. This is secret recipe." Not anymore!! Thank you Maangchi for sharing the recipe. Love it, love the channel and love you!
I've been drinking my own version of ginger tea for months now (except I add lemon juice to it), and I have never even thought of preparing a big batch of it to put in jars before... which is totally stupid of me!!! Everytime I crave it, I usually prepare it on the spot and it takes me so much time... Thankfully, I've come upon this video you did Maangchi, and I sincerely thank you for it! I just need to get out now (haven't been out in a week) and get some ginger, which is no piece of cake these days!
I woke up today feeling like I'm about to get sick. Made this in a pot with 1 tsp cinnamon and extra water. It's so good an comforting. Thanks Maangchi!
This was the first recipe I made from you, and here I am 12 years later to make it again (terrible memory so I don’t have it down by now), I’m quite sick this week. So good, so easy thank you Maangchi!

I'm so glad to hear that!
I also added some lemon but I wasn't crazy about the taste. Pure ginger flavor is awesome!
I never saw any cooking video like yours, you say everything clear and quick. Never drag or waste time. thank you and I am going to make it. bless you.
I do agree with u. for me its TV serial. Happy to watch Mangchi :)
I made this in small batches every month and drink it during my menstrual cycle. Its very warm, comforting and help ease the pain. Thank you for the recipe, Maangchi!
Camomile is great for that too!
I agreed! Ginger tea for me one wk before & 1 wk after menstrual cycle.

Mix it with water and sugar or honey and drink. It's called misugaru. Dongchimi? Eat it with rice or noodles. Check out the recipe on my website.
ok, agave syrup, I actually sometimes use it but for the video, I use honey or sugar because they are easier for people to find.
It sounds delicious to me!

I made this last winter. The only thing that kept me warm and healthy.
yes, skip pine nuts (optional). : )
Having this tea in the daytime is a good idea, but I think it should be kept in the fridge.
