Excellent customer service. Ordered a kit and colour was slightly off. The company was immediately responsive and sent a better colour through express shipping. I’m working on my couch now and it’s looking great. Can’t wait to see the final results.
Dude, you're a magician. We have an italian leather couch and chair we bought used for very little money and we are excited to revamp our set and make it look like a brand new high end set!
You mentioned that to paint red on a brown color, you dye yellow first. What color should I apply to dark brown that I want to dye cream. So, from dark to light. Thank you!
Hello. I'm getting discouraged. I'm following the instructions in your video to refinish a leather chair. On the parts where the leather was more worn, the dye soaked in and it looks much better. The foot rest, however, looked practically new, and the dye isn't soaking in at all. The dye is just leaving smeary streaks. I've done three coats now, with plenty of time to dry in between. It seems like the next coat just pulls off some of the previous coat(s). What can I do?
If there are dye adhesion concerns, there is always a reason for this happening! It’s usually a simple case of preparation. There is likely oily residue from skin oils (common on a footrest), creams, conditioners, balms, or a patina buildup from years of general use. These can easily be corrected! We invite you to visit our concerns page www.leathertouchupdye.com/concerns/ and send us your information and one of our technicians will contact you with a solution!
@@csmilinich I personally used this companies auto dye kit for my interior and like yours mine is perforated for heating and cooling seats..It was amazing and my interior looks better then new as I changed my colour to a darker grey..
The issue I have is that these dyes are EXPENSIVE!!! The bottle being used for this sample fix here plus shipping is about $220. That is completely ridiculous! It will not even fix a full chair, it can only work on a cushion as seen in this sample test. I have ordered almost $600 worth of dyes and kits yet I can't even get it to fix two single sofas! Please be advised, THEY ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE so you don't get stuck in a quagmire.
Hello Frank, We're here to help! Yes, this does not sound normal! You may have VINYL! Vinyl typically has a soft woven cloth backing material that does not have the foundation required to properly receive the dye as shown in our videos. In our videos, these are examples of real leather, and/or bonded / bi-cast leather that has cowhide within the substrate. Can you please visit our "Concerns - Troubleshooting" www.leathertouchupdye.com/concerns/ and include a couple of images for our technicians to review!
