    I love my model of this watch with the green face. Great review, the watch is the most rugged one that I own. The heavy weight of the watch isn't noticeable when I wear it, but the weird engineered clasp makes it more difficult to put on than most metal straps, and I appreciate the attempt at originality by the Victorinox watch designers and engineers. One of my favorite watches, a pleasure to wear, and it should last a life time. I own a Swiss Army quartz watch that I bought new in 1980, and it is still working perfectly. You really have to see and wear this watch to appreciate it! Thanks for the review and, my second hand is dead on to the markers, so zero misalignment.

    Excellent review, Ivan! I love the styling, and your photography is very revealing. In response to your call, I have these concerns, which are probably relevant to many readers:
    1. After a couple of years the battery will die and someone will be unsealing the watch. Depending on who does it, water resistance may be compromised, and the many durability tests rendered partially irrelevant. This is always an issue with non-solar quartz watches, which is why so many of my quartz pieces are Citizen eco-drive or G-shock solar.
    2. If you truly wear this watch as a G-Shock alternative, the hardness of the stainless steel will be really significant, given the smooth, beautifully polished surfaces. How will it hold up to dings and scratches?

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for that Jim, very good points you bring up there! I think seals may become an issue but I guess besides water resistance there is little else it would compromise with regards to the various other resistance tests it purportedly endures.
      The steel can definitely get scratched just like any other 316L steel piece... although it is curious that the sapphire didn't shatter on being run over by a tank!

    I got one of these a few weeks ago for £195 from Amazon global. Oddly mine came in a different box which is inferior to the packaging in your video. I was beginning to think I got a fake but after thorough inspection and comparison with hires images and video that's not the case. I even had the back open and it has the Ronda 715 in it and it's highly unlikely that anyone would go to the lengths of faking a £25 movement, I believe that some of these watches are possibly B grades that are reboxed and sold off way below RRP. There's an unboxing by another youtuber J.City reviews and his was in the same cheap box.
    It's a really nice watch. Mines perfect except for the second hand alignment which comes back to the B grade thing. Having said that, it's not as far out as the one in your review.

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  4 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing those thoughts - Amazon is mostly a grey retailer for these watches so it’s not surprising that some of these will come in alternate packaging.

    Dear Victorinox company! My question is whether the Victorinox I.N.O.X. what procedure and protection are used in wristwatches so that the watch can withstand -57 and +71 degrees Celsius? As far as I know, button cells run out quickly in extremely cold weather conditions. Thank you in advance for your respectful reply!

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  8 місяців тому

      The procedure is that they tested the watches to these conditions and proved they continue to function normally. Isn’t that what you’ve already looked up and read about?
      PS. I’m pretty sure no Victorinox staff or official will be checking out my video

    Thanks for this great review Ivan! A very attractive watch. You didn't mention the price, but It can't be cheap. It has been said, but why, why, is the seconds hand not hitting the markers spot on... can't be that hard to get it right. It would have been nice if it would have been radio controlled and Solar. Like this, it is no match for the Casio G-Shock .

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  6 років тому

      Thanks for that Joop... yeah I think it may have been bumped out of alignment which is quite possible with seconds hands. As for solar and radio/gps control, I'm not aware of any Swiss modules that have that, and if they want to maintain the Swiss made status (which presumably is a priority) then it can't be a Japanese module. With time I suspect this will start happening...

    I owned this watch but sold it. I liked it a lot, but it was too big. Heavy watch on a bracelet. The rubber strap is awesome. Thinking about getting the "lady" version at 37mm, no date. Much better size for my puny wrist.

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for sharing that - I wasn't aware it's also available is smaller 37mm size. I think there's a definite market for that, watches never used to be this big!

  • @nightraker
    @nightraker 6 років тому +1

    I have the 45mm Diver version on a Strapcode Engineer bracelet and Victorinox Red dial. The second hand aligns much better on my example, but a tiny bit not quite perfect. Victorinox plays unfortunate pricing games with bracelets and colored dials (MSRP only, yeecch!). They also sell the bracelet separately, but I have quite nice entire watches for the same price. OTOH, the lug arrangement is particularly well suited to the generic straight lugged aftermarket bracelet.
    The rubber baby bumper thingy is a bit gimmicky and I'd have to search to find mine, but otherwise it's a fine toolish diver. Thanks to Grahame and you to give us a fine review.

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  6 років тому

      Thanks for another great comment! I am not that familiar with their range, curious to hear about those pricing games! The Strapcode Engineer is badass and would be a great pair for a tough watch! :)

    • @nightraker
      @nightraker 6 років тому +1

      Perth WAtch The game, when I was shopping for the red Diver INOX, is that some of the colored dials are available *with factory bracelet* only from Victorinox and thereby only at MSRP, about $700USD. A street price watch plus the Strapcode bracelet is still a $ignificant $avings and you have a nice red silicone / rubber strap as a spare.
      The bracelet, sold on its own, is fairly priced if you've paid MSRP for the watch. Otherwise, it's more than 2x the Strapcode bracelet price. I picture the meeting room to set MSRP as dominated by the hookah of something illegal to smoke in the middle of the table. :)
      Strapcode is not making any gifts with their pricing, either, and I find their website somewhat frustrating (easier to search / examine their bracelet stuff on Amazon). Still, they are priced competitively and the quality is superlative. I've been VERY happy with the few to several bracelets they've supplied for my strap free fetish.
      Their customer service rep helped me order some more suitable straight endlinks when I'd been mistakenly optimistic about a bracelet model's application for a not specifically listed Seiko. The other side of their house sells eyeglass frames as that was the outfit that shipped out my better fitting 'links.

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  6 років тому

      Thanks for those insights, appreciate hearing your experiences, especially with regards to very popular Strapcode. Haha, I also particularly love the picture of the Victorinox executives sitting around smoking "something illegal" whilst setting company agenda and strategies! I sweat this is how it is in many other companies seeing some of the rather bizarre decisions the public has witnessed over the years :D

    • @PerthWAtch

      Depends on many factors whether this is worth it. What do you mean "small"? How small is "small"?
      With a quartz servicing is pretty much just replacing the battery when it runs out. That's usually 3-4 years on watches like this.

    I think I would opt for the Rubber strap version and hope the freaking seconds hand lined up better😂 that being said my $1100 Tuna does not line up on all indices either! I have heard it’s due to gears in the mechanism?

      @PerthWAtch  6 років тому

    I just bought one this weekend. The seconds hand is WAY better but not 100% dead on with all markers. The unusual thing is mine has the bracelet but has a standard foldover milled clasp and diver's extension. Some come with a very supple rubber/silicone bracelet which is nice too. imgur.com/a/OGoUk18 (link may not work properly unless you cut and paste) It's a great watch.
