It's amazing how much this changes the tone of the scene. Instead of being fast paced and extravagant, this edit forces it to slow down and take a more dreaded tone. Like we are watching the fall of something great.

@@ds90sephThat is war for you. I like G1 and it’s overall tone of hope and justice. But this scene from the movie, edited with the music is what I imagine to be the true story of Cybertrons Fall. A dying world of metal for a dying race of titans.

1:28 it is my personal headcanon that the launchpad the autobots utilized was actually once a much cherished civilian technological achievement like the world's first interstellar airport. Now corrupted and commandeered by a militant war faction led by Optimus Prime to be used to harbor jet planes designed to bomb innocent civilians and homes. Even the decepticon leadership were reluctant and heartbroken to take down such a historic monument/structure that was a symbol of a better time in peace. now corrupted from the horrors of war, reduced to a mere tool of war. 2:18 despite direct orders from shockwave, former scientist starscream and his seeker team knew how sad such destruction could be, quiet tears flowing as they entered jet form and steadied their rockets. but now the old structure is reduced to rumble as a casualty of war.
This really set a different tone and pacing for the beginning of the story I swear it must be impossible to get movies and a TV series set on Cybertron that tells the beginning of the war, shows us how brutal it was and how it spilled over into the rest of the galaxy before finally abandoning Cybertron for Earth. I swear that must be too much to ask for
I’ll be honest… I wasn’t expecting it to be as good or fit as well as it did but it does so much that much like many other comments have pointed out the scene gives off an entirely different vibe now. It goes from a action packed last battle of Cybertron to this kind of tragic scene depicting just how far this war has gone and the desperation of that. Like this is the last battle on Cybertron… this is the breaking point of this entire civil war. A war that has been fought for centuries and a war that has cost almost the entire population of the planet they’re fighting over. This is the climax of a long and bloody war where friends and family either in blood (or engergon in this case) or in arms have killed each other in either quick or brutal fashions and that climax is one side being so outnumbered and outgunned that they have to leave their own planet for the slightest chance of living only to be hunted down anyway. It’s a scene that’s actually a lot more tragic than most give it credit for or at least than I gave it credit for and I think the music change helped with that a lot. Of course I am reading a lot into things but it’s the vibe I get.
You're not wrong. The Autobots had lost this time, but Prime still put faith that hope was still there. He put the fate of his kind in Bumblebee's hands, and ultimately that faith was rewarded with a chance for the Autobots to fight back and reclaim Cybertron from Megatron and the Decepticons.
