- In this video I am going to answer one of the greatest mysteries in the Bumblebee movie, that being how Optimus Prime was able to escape Cybertron and make his way to our planet Earth!

Considering before the flashback is over we can see Prime strike that iconic Bayverse pose, it's safe to assume most seekers were put offline by Prime's murderous survival instinct
Killing is his last resort, just look at RotB! Optimus was fighting as Optimus should, then Scourge mopped the floor with him, mocked him, & killed his son (Bumblebee is Optimus's son in RotB, you can't deny it), so he HAD to be the way he was later on in RotB. But, he will probably be at least a little like he was in BBM & beginning of RotB (fighting wise) in the next movies!

@@draketimmons684 Or that. But, if you see how Optimus acts towards Bee & Mirage in the film, it makes Optimus seem like a father. Remember the line, "I do not want you to go to that drive-in theater anymore", which basically sounds like, "Bee, you're grounded". Or any of the lines from Optimus to Mirage. Idk thats just how I see Optimus in RotB.
@@FennekinTFWhile I do agree, the son part doesn’t seem realistic. Bumblebee was the entire reason the Autobots survived, so it was reasonable he’d let loose on Scourge when he was killed.

& I just want to add to my earlier point abt Optimus's fighting style in RotB, just cuz. If you can see in Optimus's fight with Battletrap in the Final Battle, judging by the way he moves towards the end of it makes it look like he was abt to stab Battletrap in the chest, just a simple stab, then Primal interfered & smashed him to pieces, adding to the point that Optimus isn't very brutal in this universe, even with everything going against him in the movie.
I noticed this on my 2nd watch of the movie more recently (I don't remember when)
Never noticed at 2:55 until now that you can hear how afraid drop kick and shatter are in their voice especially when their voice quivers when they realize Optimus prime is coming to earth.
They really got a nice beating from Prime

This Optimus would say "Stand down. I will not ask a second time". If anything happens like in RotB that 100% requires Optimus to be a little more brutal in his fighting style, then so be it. Killing is his last resort, if all else fails. But, normally, this Optimus wouldn't be that brutal. Think back in RotB, Optimus's fighting style in the beginning was perfectly fine & not too brutal, then later Scourge came & mopped the floor with him, mocked him, & killed one of his sons (Bee & Mirage are Optimus's sons in RotB, you can't deny it), so to Optimus, in that moment onward, being a little more brutal in his fighting style was absolutely necessary & he was very ticked off cuz of what Scourge did. But, in the future of the Knightverse, Optimus most likely will be like how he was in BBM & the beginning of RotB (fighting wise).
You know, I actually hear that now. I originally thought they were eager to kill all the Autobots that were coming to Earth

A moment in the film I wished we had a deleted scene for the MOST. Always wondered what strategy he used to get away. I’d like to think he fought some off, got overpowered, then some remaining Autobots ran in to reinforce, allowing him to drive off. Those couldn’t be 100% of the Autobot force that evacuated. And if some stayed behind, their first instinct would be to protect their leader. Allowing him to proceed with the bigger mission to help establish the new base on Earth. 💙❤️👀🤔🎥

He Was Rebuilt into Optimus by Alpha Trion. Idk if that's just G1 Cannon or everywhere else.
I see this as a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone here. Cullen has mentioned he wants to do a standalone Optimus Prime film. Fans want to know how Optimus escaped Cybertron.
Give us a film set almost entirely on Cybertron showing us what all he had to do to survive. This could also tie in and show fans a little more info on why Prime seemed so broody and melancholy in Rise of the Beasts (yes they gave us an explanation, but this could show more to us other than just homesickness).
Peter Cullen in sadly not getting any younger, and even though it's been nearly five years between movies, we're still only two in so far. Give fans that perspective movie while also letting the Legend himself get his wish.
I like to think he flew out of there, because shatter and dropkick would be dead if they tried to fight optimus
Optimus likely prioritized escape, but still killed most of them on his way out.
This was an Absolutely Amazing Theory for how Optimus Prime escaped from Cybertron.

Prime killed every enemy while screaming "I'll take you all on!" like he did in revenge of the fallen chills literal chills just thinking about it (dual energon blades all the way)

He escaped because he’s Optimus Prime, simple as that.

Something interesting I discovered in Bumblebee. There are 13 Autobots in the movie. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Brawn, Arcee, Cliffjumper, Wheeljack and 5 others that you glance but are nearly impossible to tell who they are.
Very interesting indeed! Wonder who those remaining 5 could/would be!
& do you think its possible that an Autobot took command on Cybertron while Optimus & the others fled to Earth? I think its possible, I'm thinking either Ultra Magnus or Elita-1 took command, or maybe both!?

I was wondering that since I watched it. Bit of a shame he couldn't retrieve his ion blaster
This is how I think the fight went down.
4 seekers attack Optimus and Optimus kills them with dual energon blades. Optimus then picks up the gun on the ground, and kills exactly 17 using a combination of energon blade attacks and gunfire. The winged seekers try to dive in on Optimus but Optimus slices them up using the energon blades. Optimus then transforms into his alt mode and shoots rockets at 5 seekers, clearing a path toward Shockwave. Optimus runs into shockwave, ending his role in the fight. Ravage goes back into Soundwave and soundwave then transforms into a jukebox. Dropkick then escorts Soundwave out of the fight, while shatter flies away. After seeing the main decepticons leave, Optimus gets angered by this. Optimus then proceeds to kill the 15 seekers left using his energon blades, Alt mode and ion blaster.
Optimus then sees Megatron in the distance and Optimus then drives away, finds an escape pod and escapes cybertron.
(Transit might’ve escaped Cybertron with shatter, dropkick and blitzwing)
It would've been cool if Megatron was present during the fall of Cybertron.
Sadly we didn't see he's own g1 design

Didn't Travis Knight want Megs in the movie, but he couldn't add him in? & I saw on another Theorymus vid, a comment who said basically, iirc, maybe Megs was attacking the Autobot Capitol, the one Arcee was talking abt when she said "I lost contact with the Capitol!". I think that sounds very believable & realistic story-wise in BBM & RotB. & I REALLY hope we see Megs in his FULL G1-esque glory in TF3 (after TF2/RotB)!!!
Despite this ROTB Optimus and Bayverse Optimus are different, the two have one thing in common... that being "Prime Rage", the one thing we saw in Dark of the Moon...

Your theory sounds right. It sounds right because when Bumblebee was in space, we can see more pods but in different locations, not in the same area where Bumblebee is

Great vid. Something that bothered me after watching Rise of the beasts is why in the name of primus did they change wheeljack sooooo bad. I honestly forgot he had a brief appearance in bumblebee until seeing him in this vid and i remembered he had his G-1 form so like the heck?!

Idk if someone already commented this before. But if there’s gonna be a what if scenario. What if in 2007 Transformers if Arcee did get to be part of the movie without being cut and remade in the second movie as Arcee twins? How would her role be like if a way of saving Jazz’s life from Megatron or what? I wondered if the writers did made a script about it but cut it and rewrite it?
In my headcanon Optimus didn't have any extra weapons on him at the time and boxed his way through all 46 Deceptions

Considering we can see presumably pods fly from multiple points of origin, it’s reasonable to assume there were more pod bays with leftover pods or unused as that front got wiped out

I bet Optimus beat up many Decepticons, killed some (the nameless Seekers, ofc), & failed against some, like Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, etc, made an opening, then transformed, drove off to another Autobot base, then escaped in a pod to Earth. Fast forward a tiny bit to the ending of BBM, 7 yrs later in RotB, & now we're waiting for whats next for the 3rd movie!

& Theorymus, could you do a theory on if Optimus has the Matrix of Leadership in this new rebooted continuity (BBM & RotB, ofc), I think he does cuz it'd makes sense & I could easily imagine him getting it at some point before BBM's Cybertron scene. & Considering that the Great War is implied to have started not too long ago cuz of the fact the Decepticons call the Autobots a resistance & the Autobots call themselves a resistance, too, so it would just make sense for the War to start abt 1 millon yrs, more or less, before BBM's Cybertron scene, instead of abt 4 or more million yrs. & Optimus could've easily gotten the Matrix at some point between the beginning of the War & BBM's Cybertron scene. & I think it'd be really cool for Optimus to already have had the Matrix for a little while & uses it to defeat Unicron in TF4/last movie in RotB's Unicron Trilogy. Mainly considering the fact that the Matrix is the only thing that can stop Unicron in G1 & probably other continuities as well! It'd be cool for you too make a vid abt it!

ngl, wish they couldve provided more info on how he managed to escape. My theory is that
1) Optimus was indeed captured and sent to Kaon as per Megatron's request, my idea of how he escaped is by taking reference of the Kaon Prison chapter in the War for Cybertron game.
He possibly escaped Cybertron by either sabotaging/destroying a Decepticon outpost within Kaon and took an escape pod to cover his getaway. A possible reason that Shatter and Dropkick seem afraid of Optimus coming to Earth is due to their belief that he escaped Kaon and took down an outpost all by himself.
2) He escaped Kaon then proceeded to link up to Iacon or one of the Autobot bases

My theory is there is another autobot who still in Cybertron when Optimus is surrounded by decepticons (i personally think Metroplex/Omega Supreme help him) and i think there are some autobots who sacrifice themself to made Optimus escape Cybertron
It would be interesting to ponder about. In my head, Optimus most likely didn't manhandle 40+ Decepticons then and there. He must've gone to Decepticon jail first. He would get a cell for himself, and when he gets put on death row, he outmaneuvers his executioners and coordinates a long and sneaky escape with what Autobots he could find. Realizing his goons are not good enough to fight Optimus, Megatron stepped in and dueled the Prime. Optimus was losing, and he quickly secured a Decepticon transport together with what Autobots he was able to rescue. The prisoners fled Cybertron but scattered, and many of them died along the journey. Then Optimus crashlanded onto the Earth and tried to find as many fellow Autobots as he could to prepare for Megatron's probably-inevitable arrival.
Dunno, I'm a big WFC/FOC fan (you can see that my route blends together the Kaon Prison mission and the Great Exodus), but I think it fits.

I hope a new movie can breifly go back to this scene, it would be neat if Elita One and the other autobots saved one last escape pod for him or something to explain how he's on Earth with the others but she seemingly isnt.

In my headcanon, the Wreckers (Kup, Impactor, Springer, Broadside, Rack'Ruin, Whirl, Sandstorm) pulled up, and got him and some leftover bots from the capitol (Iacon, and where Megs probably was). That way, it could open up to a Bad Batch styled Wreckers tv show, with maybe a rewritten last stand of the wreckers as an ending.
Looks like Skywarp and Thundercracker are in the frame with Soundwave, Shockwave, and Ravage but they could just be generic seekers that look like them. I just really want a movie with G1 styles where we get all of the Decepticons and Autobots we grew up with in the first season of G1

Hey theorymus I just thought of when you said he could have made it to another base what if when Optimus made it to the other autobot base there could have been other autobots there along with mirage and stratosphere so that opens a lot a characters that can be in the new rebooted timeline 😃

I just assumed he got captured, but then escaped, cuz as beast as movie optimus always is, I don't believe he can take on 50 decepticons at the same time
And also even though we don't see Megatron it's fair to assume he would show up in the encounter eventually and I find it hard to believe that he'll be able to kill 50 Decepticons including Shockwave and many other strong Heavy Hitters and then surviving Megatron.

Who were in the other three escape pods at the end of bumblebee
Since we know that at the end of bumblebee we saw 7 autobot escape pods come to earth
In 4 of them were
1) arcee
2) mirage
3)stratosphere
4)wheeljack
2:30 actually his ion blaster was supposed to appear in transformers rise of the beast sadly and appeared in the deleted scenes It appeared on his truck mode plus I have three more things to back it up the toys the first one the transformers ROTB mainline voyager class Optimus prime also the transformers ROTB Robeson RC Optimus prime He had all of his weapons that appeared in the movie plus his classic ion blaster and there is a new coming role play model TF ROTB Optimus prime T7 ion blaster coming out so it still counts It’s still with him .

You know, I like to imagine right before Optimus gets surrounded by the Decepticons he does something crazy, finds an escape pod and escapes.

Have you seen the How It Should Have Ended for Bumblebee? In that hilarious video Bumblebee askes Prime about it after he meats up with him and Optimus tells the story. He was surrounded when he used a "look over there" distraction and took cover. Than while hiding he sees the corpse of a Decepticon and wears the pieces. He than directs the Decepticons away while in disguise and escapes. It's hilarious, you should totally watch it 😂
This would be a great prequel movie to bumble bee and actually show Megatron and people will finally know it’s a reboot since he wouldn’t be frozen
