Really dope list. My personal most anticipated indie game is Unbeatable. It's a rhythm game with a story attached to it, along with STELLAR music that is not too dissimilar to TWEWY, FLCL, and Scott Pilgrim. Got great animation, great character designs, and what seems to be an interesting story.

I'd check out vivid/stasis if you're interested. It's wild that the game is free when it's a full-on rhythm game and visual novel
I think No Straight Roads had a reference to Unbeatable when the Encore Edition came out. Boss-focused, VERY stylished rhythm hack-and-slash gameplay. More so than Hi-Fi Rush.
It's not as long or complex as Hi-Fi Rush, but it has a much stronger theme of music: Why people play it, the effect that has on people, music as an industry and the effect that *that* has on people, and all bosses have five different variations of their boss track to replay them to.
It also had a fan art event in the lead-up to the release of the Encore Edition, where the sent-in pieces of fan art would be credited graffit "collectables" that you can place over a guitar case-shaped piece of the HUD.
My own drawing can be found in the abstract art lady's district, in a room with a big purple rock with eyes on it after entering a fuchsia neon corridor. Has a purple background and aforementioned lady's head at the top.

My current interest has been with a number of other games. Older ones like The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, Papetura and Charlie Murder, but for more recent ones it's stuff like No Straight Roads, Soulstice, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos (and the Zeno Clash games by extent), Cookie Cutter, Blud, (those last two are fully hand-drawn animated), Harold Halibut (stopmotion animated, took around 10 years to make), whatever Moonhood Studio is planning to make (also stop-motion animated game), Genokids The Mermaid's Tongue/The Mermaid Mask, Loco Motive, Kings of Hell (warning: That one's a bit spicy, lots of dudes in thongs with prominent aubergines if you catch my drift), Zet Zillions, Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip, My Familiair, Resistor, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo...
Basically, there's a lot I want to help spread the word on wherever possible too because there's too much that goes under the radar. There's a lot of "This is why we must support/talk about indie games!" going around, but whenever that's done, i don't often see people giving specific examples or names for others to look into.
To that end, videos like yours are most appreciated and I hope they can reach many others to help spread the word.

I don't even know where to begin with this video. I feel like Marty in that scene of Madagascar where there's a bunch of Zebras like I just found my people. I've said "Dude YES" so many times back to back to back just now.
The games are PEAK, the music reccs are PEAK, your art is PEAK (I'm an artist too just starting out so I'm totally following u after this), your music is PEAK, background tracks are PEAK, even the BRC in the background is peak.
TLDR I really needed this. Everything around me started to blend in and I didn't know where to look for that rush of pure creative energy. I was getting bored almost. It was hard to find this exact taste in all of these things (Games, Music, AND Art) and I'm wayy glad that you shared all of this and that this appeared in my recommended today

Abyss x Zero is from the devs that made Unsighted, an awesome Metroidvania with some unique takes on the genre. I have complete faith they will deliver on Abyss x Zero.

Sword of Symphony - Now that Tango Gameworks is dead and so is likely the chances of Hi-Fi Rush 2, I'm looking towards this as being HFR's spiritual successor.
Neon White - If you want a fast paced platformer shooter with card mechanics, corny dialogue (in all the right ways) and a dope ass soundtrack, then play this.
Genokids - DMC but with character switching a vibrant art style which kinda reminds me of Soul Eater (when you play the demo, you'll know why)
SoulQuest - DMC but 2D. And the combat feels smooth as butter.
Bands:
Time, The Valuator - One of the best modern progressive metal bands I've heard. How Fleeting How Fragile has to be one of the best albums I've heard. I do hope they release something again soon.
Floya - The first vocalist of Time, The Valuator left and started another band with one of the guitarists of Alazka and it's such a strong shift from TTV's sound
Galleons - This band and Valiant Hearts (they have the same singer) took the early sound of Hands Like Houses and built on it and I honestly go back to VH and Galleons more than Hands Like Houses and Galleons' new album Violent Delights is a contender for AOTY 2024.
Oh nice shout out to Galleons and Valiant Hearts. I got into them from listening to Sea in the Sky and Aviations (the goats)

dude, this is some slick editing and commentary. This channel is going places.
Not sure if stealth is your thing, but my current indie kick has been gloomwood. Kinda a mix between thief and resident evil 4 in terms of gameplay loop. A lot of immersive sim elements where gameplay mechanics influence each other. Like breaking glass on one side of a locked door to get the gaurds to open the door to check it out, or you can swipe the key from some gaurds belt, or set some explosives next to it, or stack barrels to just climb over the building entirely. A lot has to do with manipulating light and sound like thief, but also the item managements of old resident evil.
in early access, but there is definitely enough content for a good time.

I was actually surprised how much the combat reminded me of re4 once you get enough ammo to occasionally go combat mode, despite it being first person. people mostly point out the inventory being RE like, but they forget to mention that the focus on spacing and timing your reloads is pretty RE 4 like too. shotgun feels so good to boot. i think it actually pushes your character back like 1/2 a foot if your still.
its its own thing though ofc, but that came to mind.

Mad Rat Dead
Its not an indie game or anything, but its a much lesser known Rhythm Platformer title with great art and awesome music. Its by NIS America and unfortunately its not on PC, only console. Its got immaculate vibes and its a HUGE reccomend if youre into Rhythm hybrid games like No Straight Roads and Hi Fi Rush. It has a free demo too.
If you're even a little interested I recommend at least peeping the OST. It has wonderful tracks by Camellia, Dyes Iwasaki, and a_hisa
