I 100% agree on transfer tape. The minor difference in price is worth my sanity.

Oh my goodness, I’ve never seen the registration marks used and it’s amazing. I’ll definitely use this next time.

Thanks Alex...I have used this method with vinyl and it went well. But I was wondering if you can do this some way with HTV? This is really where I could use this method. And my only other issue was I didn’t know which layer was to be the base layer. Is there a trick to that?

Hey Ruth! I’m not aware of a way to do this with HTV. The way that I layer HTV is by putting all the layers together how I want them and letting them stick together using the sticky Carrier sheets. Then I place the design and peel away everything except the bottom layer. Then I tack it for 5 seconds, stick the whole thing down and position it and repeat. I take advantage of the fact that you reposition the carrier sheets to layer well.
There’s not a firm rule for which layer is the base layer. I would say to go by whatever is going to “frame up” the design should go on first. In the design I showed you in this video, the piece you are framing is text. So that’s why I chose that layer first. ☺️

Nice tutorial and cute file! With registration marks, wouldn't it be easier to start with the top layer rather than the base? That way you don't have to remove all the layers each time from the transfer tape. :)

It depends on your design on where it's best to start. Either way you'll have to remove the transfer tape from each individual layer, so I guess it's up to preference at that point. :)

Thanks Darlene! Most of my designs are from DesignBundles. I also link the designs I use in the video in the video’s description! Here’s the wreath I used in this tutorial: designbundles.net/mintymarshmallows/347745-fall-svg-bundle-autumn-svg-cut-files/rel=2yH9Zq
