    Just ran across this vid and it's simply awesome...I have been in the commercial sign and screen printing business for 25 yrs and you have just simplified a layering process that has plaqued me and my business for years when it comes to the small, detail oriented layout of vinyl signage. Thanks so much!

      I love the registration method! Only drawbacks that I feel are how much vinyl you use because of the registration marks, especially with the lower parts of the decal. I think the parchmwnt paper method would be best for large decals so you don't end up with as much waste. Good luck in your vinyl journey! 😊

    Hi Sallie...Thank you so much....I have watched so many videos on using the registration boxes for multiple colors...no one went into the steps the way you did...I'm new to cameo 4 you just have a way of explaining things....I was up til 4 o'clock in the morning trying to grasp the boxes and all that....still didn't get it having trouble centering and grouping the boxes...got back on next day still couldn't do the boxes you way...(BTW seems to be simpler and faster)...not sure why I couldn't get it...I will try later...but good news I did do a 2 color layer shirt 2 of them for my grandsons....I also messed up some vinyl my fault...but in the end I'm happy...my goal was accomplished but will still try to figure your way out....again thank you for all your help...i have subscribed to your channel you go above and beyond to help your viewers and customers....have a blessed day Sallie!!!!

    Hi Sallie!,
    Thank you for another awesome video. It really helped me understand layering vinyl designs. I have always had a Cricut but your videos convinced me to try a Silhouette! I really love it but it can be intimidating at times especially because I am so used to the Cricut software. I still enjoy the Cricut but find the Silhouette store to have much more on trend designs. Believe me when I say that your videos keep me inspired! Anyway I hope you and your family are well and that your craft room is coming along well! 😊💜🌻

    How does the customer actually stick the vinyl decal? What is the very last step?
    On the first decal when you finally pull off the final piece - you re-stick it to something else. What is it that you re-stick it to? Is there any issues ever applying the decals after sticking it to that backing paper? Like does any of the adhesive remove from the vinyl by doing that?
    I understand the process of making multi-coloured decals for myself - I can just never figure out how to actually get it to a customer in a way that they can apply

    I really like the parchment paper better because you can see through it where the image will lay. But for larger projects, I think the registration marks will work better because I don’t think I would have a large enough piece of parchment paper for projects like banners or wall signage. Or am I wrong about the size availability of the parchment paper?

  • @LaurenReynolds14
    @LaurenReynolds14 3 роки тому

    I would have thought to cut by fill color and cut each color at a time. Do you do it this way so you can cut all of the pieces in one “send” and not have to reload the mat for each color?

    I love silhouette studio 😩 I switched to cricut because I work from my iPad. And the cricut design space isn’t as advanced as silhouette studio.

    • @nahnisjourney1406
      @nahnisjourney1406 Рік тому

      Hello. I’m trying to switch over to Silhouette Studio because of the size restraints and not being able to cut without a mat with my CRICUT Explorer Air 2. I use a laptop. I love the CRICUT because that’s what I started with. So I’m still learning so much about Silhouette Studio. The Cameo 4 is quite noisy. So noisy that if you didn’t know it was normal, you would think there was a problem with the Cameo 4. I bought it off Facebook Marketplace because the lady couldn’t deal with the noise it made. She went back to her CRICUT Explorer Air 2.
      I guess there’s some give and take with both cutters.
      Two years later, how are you doing with your cutters? Are you still working from your tablet?
      Donna

      @nahnisjourney1406 Рік тому

      Did you ever get the registration colors figured out? Her video made all the difference for me.
      Group one set of registration marks with each like color. All the reds group together. All the blacks together. All the greens together… and so on including the corresponding registration marks. Be sure to align all the grouped parts on the screen The marks will cut with each piece of your project. Line up the registration marks perfectly when applying to the transfer tape. Then burnish each part starting from the very top part… to the very bottom part. Lining up with the squares perfectly aligned without laying down the rest of the image. Then, burnish down the image from the top to the bottom, and release it from the carrier sheet. Repeat these steps for each color.
      Practice makes perfect. You will get it if you haven’t already gotten it.
      I only replied to your question because I saw that she had not responded already.
      After a year later… I hope this helps.
