Fur Elise | Beethoven | Acoustic Guitar Lesson #1 (of 2) | NBN Guitar

- Fur Elise by Ludwig Van Beethoven is probably the most recognisable piano piece in the world. There wouldn't be many piano players that haven't tried to play this at least once. This is my first of two tutorials that teach you how to play this awesome tune on the guitar. This tutorial covers bars one to forty.
It isn't an easy piece so I recommend playing it slower than it would be played on piano.
Tutorial 2 covers bars 41 to 104 and is available to members along with free tabs & sheet music, courses & membership plans: nbnguitar.com

You are the most talented, most patient and easy going teacher I have ever come across. Kudos and respect.
Hey cheers G K. My first guitar teacher was the same so I'm guessing his influence rubbed off onto me. Thanks for writing such a neat comment.
@@nbnguitar Thanks for excellent arrangement and such controlled explanation which is not easy to point out fine nuances in start/stop mode and that too so frequently! Any chance can you please mail Tab at -- shriani.kr@gmail.com . Tx
First time I watch your tutorials, but now that I've seen it, I'll definitely watch all of them. Perfectly explained and shown, not too fast, not too slow, great job, sir. Thank you.
Hi! Wow such a nice comment. I'm glad you find the speed to your liking and I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos too!
Nothing is better than this you are the best teacher
I'm flattered Regina. Enjoy and all the best with your playing.
Thank you very much. Very good and easy lessons.

My pleasure Paul - Kia ora from Aotearoa
a very clear and correct tutorial that i as a beginner could follow and do. thank you very much.
Thank you very much Johan. All the best to you :)
My 8 year old son is learning this at the moment. Your video is helpful.
Glad it was helpful! How's he getting on with it? He must be awesome to be tackling this at the tender age of 8.
He learnt it in about 4 days. He's doing really well and can do all of his chords now! He is strumming and is in between understanding how to play chords with the melody. But, he loves playing this song..he has his favourites and this is one of them. He's just learnt old town road.. I am trying to help him understand scales...(but I don't play guitar at all 😁🤦🏽♀️) thanks again
I like very much your Chanel and your class. Thanks from Brazil. I am Very happy with this lesson!!
I have been enjoying this tutorial. Thank you Josh 😊
Good one Hephzibah. Keep on rocking!
Your lessons are the best .
Thank you Abhigit. It's nice to be appreciated!
thank you joshua. I just started and I can follow your instructions.
It's amazing and motivating.
My pleasure Rosi. Keep it going!
Excellent tutorials ,thanks man , have just subscribed
Thank you very much man. Glad to help!
thanks for replying so fast, and I really value the posts you have made. Thanks again!!
You're welcome. I always try to reply to comments as quickly as possible. Enjoy the content. Actually I do have a couple of complete playthroughs. The latest video 'Comptine d'un Autre été' has me playing the entire piece through from beginning to end in one go. Generally if there's only one tutorial for a piece I'll play it all the way through at the beginning. If there's more than one tutorial for a piece I'll break it down and the intro to the video will only contain what I teach in that particular video.
awesome sir❤️
best classical channel of you tube man..ill recomente to my friends, you deserve much more views and followers ....great job... congratulations from brazil...
Broooo! Thank you for saying that man. It's early morning here in China and to read a comment like than when I wake up is so nice. I hope that one day more people will learn and enjoy the content on the channel. All the best from New Zealand by way of China!

Sorry my Te Reo isn't the best, kinda like my guitar playing. Like many things they take practice :) Your playing and lessons are top notch though. Thank for putting in the effort and helping me immensely!!
No worries Neil! You're welcome. It's always nice to get some support from home folk. Can't wait to get back to NZ actually :)
I love your videos!!!
I love your comments!
i Love Classic Music😍
Me too Jade!
Excelent, I was learning the same song but in different way, however I think this is the best
There are so many different ways to play things on the guitar as is the case with most stringed instruments. Top players choose consistency of tone as the top priority therefore even though it may be at the expense of greater technical effort they may decide to stay on one string through a complex run rather than changing strings to facilitate easier playing. At the end of the day I think a player should forge their own path.
Part 2? This was great!
Thanks Simon. Part 2 is only available to paid subscribers on my website nbnguitar.com/membership
good stuff!
Thanks a bunch David. I appreciate it.
OMG! I'm hooked! Subscribed and already know I'm about to lose some major sleep! TABS PLEASE!!! I love this song!
Thanks for subbing Michael. You can download them yourself if you want to. Could be easier that way...
Thank you. So excited! You've definitely got a new committed student!
That's awesome. Keep on studying!
Very nice indeed.
Thanks Mr.Thura Ko. Looks like we love us some Beethoven!
Thank you.🤗
My pleasure Tan veer :)

You're welcome mate. Thanks for subbing :D
you great .. thanks so much
You're welcome Hassan. Thank you for commenting!
Another great lesson! Hey thanks too for your email follow up re prelude tab which I received ok!
Thanks a lot. Such a great piece. The first segment is kind of easy but it sure does get tricky later on! You're welcome for the follow up. I always like it when people follow up with me so I think it's only right that I should do the same :D
thanks in advance
Wow... I like this a way
Thank you very much Cindy. I'm glad you liked my tutorial.
Great channel. Great music. Stunned by the music and forget to actually learn. LOL
Hahaha bro...I'm stunned by your Great comment. That's awesome.
This is great...I need to brush up on this one myself....Australian Jason Waldron has a very nice transcription, similar to your version. I love Waldron's books (Finger picking the Classics)...he make Classical "approachable"...I've learn a quite a few songs out of his books. I subbed. I'll check you out. Have a good day Joshua.
5 Stars!
--Van
Hi Van. I know of Jason Waldron but I can't say I've come across his books so I'll have to check them out. Thanks for sharing that info with me. Classical guitar can seem a bit intimidating and I think that's largely to do with the fact that usually without a working knowledge of how to read music most of it is inaccessible especially the trickier pieces. My belief is that all pieces can be taught and learned with enough dedication and patience from both the teacher and the student. Thanks for subbing! You have a good day too Van :D
you are just awesome, man. what a lesson hahaa, i'm learning. hey hey, when you got some free time, you should show your acoustic setup explaining how you use it 0//
Haha cheers bro. I'll try to get something out by the end of the week regarding my full acoustic pedal setup!
Thank you. I will do so. Moonlight Sonata is going Ok , thanks to you!
You're welcome. Haha that's awesome to hear. Keep on pumping nylon buddy.
You're awesome dude, don't you have any tabs on Earl Klugh pieces "this time" or "tropical legs"
Luvuyo Jafta Thank you! I'm sorry I don't have any of the mighty Earl Klugh's pieces in my repertoire. I did start learning one of his pieces many years ago but I never learned it thoroughly. Sorry
Hi Josh,
Thanks for being so helpful!
I have read other comments saying the tabs are available in the “description”..
But I’m unsure how to get them, can you help?
Joshua have you posted a video of you playing this from start to finish? If not I think that would be a great addition.
I sure have. I never leave anything unfinished. Click on the description to any of my videos and you will always find links to the next in the series if there is more than one.
Hi joshua, great tutorial as always, could you please forward me to part 2?
Hi merlinsdog. Thank you very much. Part 2 is only available to paid members on my website. For more information you can use this link: nbnguitar.com/membership
joshua rogers great, thanks for the info, I'll check it out. ✌️

+Ananthu Rajagopal Thanks. It sure can.
çok iyi 👍
Thank you Eren :)
Hi Josh , I got it . Thanks . I was trying to order the on Sales Beethoven Bundle at $ 15.00 but I do know where to get hold of the DISCOUNT CODE . Secondly , kindly advise whether the material will be available in soft copies or hard copies via postal services . I am living in Singapore . Regards Peter
Hi Peter. That's great. I don't have any promotions running at the moment so there are no discount codes currently available. All of my files are in digital format so if you decide to purchase you will be sent an email with a special link that gives you 24 hours to download the file. From that point you can print it out if you need or prefer to use a hard copy. Regards, Josh
Thank you so much for helping all of us! Your amazing! Can you please by any chance show us how to play agadio by secret garden? I am not good at reading tabs, so i find it really difficult to learn it by my self.. if you want i can give you a donation for it? :)
You know Linda this is an amazing comment for me to read because I'm working on a classical guitar arrangement for 'Winter Light' from the same movie :) Can you send me a link to the Adagio?
🌹
Thanks Ray.
Awesome tutorial i am really loving it but i am unable to find the #2 part of fur elise
Thanks Vidyashri. Part 2 is only available to paid members on my website. nbnguitar.com/membership if you're interested :)
Great video, thank you. Do you still have the tab available? (:
Thank you. Yep, still floating around on my website somewhere. Please use the link in the description to access the score and let your fingers fly!
part 2 please
Part 2 is available to paid members on my website nbnguitar.com/membership
I understand that there are two tutorials and I have seen both. I meant, have you played the song from start to finish in one go in any of the videos?
Oh I see. No, I don't do that. Maybe one day I'll go back and do full recordings but it's just too much effort to make that kind of recording. I don't have the time as this isn't my full-time job. I make these videos and write all the transcriptions in my spare time.
Hi Joshua, Kindly advise if you produce a tab for the song . It would be much easier for me to follow . Thanks, Peter Wang Singapore
Hi Peter. I sure do. I've actually got a bundle of four Beethoven transcriptions that have tabs, notation and my fingering suggestions for both hands. It isn't free though but here's a link if you're interested: nbnguitar.com/sheet-music/beethoven-best-bundle-4-pieces .Cheers, Josh New Zealand
At 7:36 you say "go back to the start.." Which start? At the A minor to open string start? Or the entire beginning of the whole piece of music?
Hi, you play the guitar very well, you could help me with the tutorial of Terruño "by Quique SINESI please .............
Thank you. I'm checking out that piece now.
can you make video about Turkish march (alla turka) for mozart please
I've been thinking about that but there's some extremely tricky parts in there. I'm unsure that I could do the piece justice.
DO YOU HAVE PART 2 PLEASE SOME WHERE ??
I sure do Gigi. Part 2 is only available to paid members on my website nbnguitar.com/membership for more info
Amazing, may I know your guitar name. I want to but that one
Thank you. It’s a Takamine TH5C Hirade and there’s a link to purchase it in the description
sir please can you make a tutorial on THEME FROM LOVE STORY by FRANCIS LAI ☺️
Ayush I'm sorry but I'm too busy to take on new pieces at the present time.
Thank you, I have already received the tabs.
Awesome Antonio! How's it going with the tabs?
Unlike traditional musical notation, I'm not so familiar with the tabs, but is going pretty well, thank you.
wow great pl help i am not able to find the #2 of this melody.
Thanks Siddhartha. The second tutorial is only available to paid members on my website nbnguitar.com/membership if you're interested.
What do you mean, "then you repeat all that"? At 4:05? The entire first two stanzas with the second stanza having the different, ah shit, I don't have the vocabulary, but the second go around of the first stanza before you reach A minor you plucked the A and G strings to end it differently?
it was the most easiest to memorize and understanded
That's fantastic timotius (cool name dude - Timotius)
@@nbnguitar thanks dude
ok tux josh
can you please upload a secpmd guitar lesson
The second tutorial is uploaded to my website but it is only accessible to paid members on my website: nbnguitar.com/membership for more information.

You are the best! Sub and like!
You flatter me Zaro - but I'll take it with gracious humility. Thanks for subbing and liking!
@@nbnguitar Tabs are for money now, aren't it?
That's true. I had to change things because after I made my website I started to realise how much it costs to maintain one and therefore I couldn't keep giving away everything for free. Send me a PM on the FB NBN guitar page and I'll see what I can do for you.
