- In this video I visit Hollywood Forever Cemetery, to visit the grave of a spooky kid, Gidget Gein from the band Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. I also walk the grounds and point out graves of other notable celebrities, some of which have been documented earlier on my channel. But the bulk of the video consists of my hunt for a bench and a giant stone cross. Why? Well because around 1987 Madonna posed here in a photo shoot by Herb Ritts to promote her album Like A Prayer. And how else would I spend a day other than wondering around a cemetery looking for obscure pop culture oddities?
Bradley Mark "Brad" Stewart (September 11, 1969 - October 8, 2008), known by his stage name Gidget Gein, was an American musician and artist. He was the second bassist and co-founder of the alternative metal band Marilyn Manson. His stage name references and dichotomies serial killer Ed Gein and the fictional 1960s surfer girl Gidget.
Madonna Louise Ciccone (/tʃɪˈkoʊni/; born August 16, 1958) is an American singer-songwriter, actress and businesswoman. Referred to as the "Queen of Pop" since the 1980s, Madonna is known for pushing the boundaries of songwriting in mainstream popular music, as well as imagery in music videos and on stage. She has also frequently reinvented both her music and image while maintaining autonomy within the recording industry. Besides sparking controversy, her works have been praised by music critics. Madonna is often cited as an influence by other artists.

fun fact also about Gidget Gein and Twiggy. Twiggy took his whole look from Gidget sad that he is not remembered as much as Twiggy.

twiggy also stole some of the look from the singer of jack off jill that he dated. thats where he got the dresses in the smells like children era

Awesome, Scott! Like you, I've been to Hollywood Forever many times, but I wasn't aware of any of the things you shared. I've photographed that bench, but didn't know Madonna sat there for that photo. That is so cool. I also visited someone next to Giget's bench, but didn't know who he was. Also, a big fan of Andy Samberg. Ever see That's My Boy? One of my favorite movie comedies ever. Thanks for another interesting trip to the cemetery.

Hollywood forever grave sight is a beautiful place the swans were so divine the grounds are truely stunning and what a fabulous piece of information regaprding MADONNAnothing she did alarmed me she was totally fearless. I too enjoy a wide spectrum of music and like yourself love the one hit wonders, monster mash by Bobby Borrice Picket and the crypt kicker five what a tune lovf it lol. I love that cemetery, it's so beautiful. Last time I was there (it's been a few years) one of those geese chased after me and I ended up falling backwards over a grave, one of my sandals fell off in the process and the dang geese pecked the top of my foot. I gave the geese a gentle push with my foot to get it to back off, it rolled on its side, I grabbed my shoe and ran like heck to the car. Sucked so bad, but now looking back on it I can totally laugh and man how I wish I was doing video back then because that would of been epic to capture and rewatch.

I am a lover of all music as well. I'm honestly surprised that my earplugs haven't become a permanent part of my body since I use them so many hours out of the day. LoL I've always wanted to go to Hollywood Cemetery and have yet to make it. Thanks for taking us along with you! It gives those of us that can't go a chance to see the places we really want to explore!!
gein wasnt the co founder, daisy was. but gidget played a big part in the image before twiggy came on board. olivia newton bundy was before gidget but didnt really want to stay in the band. originally it was daisy and manson.
but gidget was awesome on bass and a key part of the portrait album and some of the demos.

What a beautiful cemetery Scott. That’s amazing Madonna sat on that bench. She was my idol in my teens. She is a stunning lady. Still love her to this day. Why does she get such criticism today I think she’s bloody awesome and always has been. Thank you for such an awesome video. Loved it xx

What an awesome video! Thank you so so much! I have always wanted to go to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I know it's kind of a wild thing for a kid to want to do but since I was 11 or 12 I wanted to go. I'm much much older now, in my thirties, and the want to go and see where these amazing people are laid to rest has not waned at all! I want to go just as bad as I did back then. And it also doesn't help that I live across the country LOL, but who knows maybe one day. Again thank you so much awesome video
Love it all, remember when Erotica was released, much time was spent dancing and singing to it. Like last week! At one of my past jobs we had Canada geese show up every year, hung out in the parking lot and covered with their poop so I have no fondness for them myself.

Excellent video, I will admitt seeing Chris Cornells marker definitely made me stop and think that he's been gone for almost 2 years. He was bad ass, then I thought of Chester Bennington singing Alleluiea at Chris Cornells funeral. LinkinPark's last record One more Light with parts of the video filmed in England where it's almost as if Chester was saying Goodbye...One other thing about Hollywood was my favorite lead singer of all time in the bands STP, Velvet Revolver, Wildabouts Scott Weiland had his funeral there. Slash, Matt Sorum, The DeLeo bros. Duff McKagan & others attended but he was cremated and it was never disclosed where his ashes were spread out... Sorry for the long response but I don't think I could visit that cemetery as to many of my hereos are now residing sadly....Very informative and damn Madonna used to be so hot... Sucks getting old.. After watching quite a few of your videos I noticed your timing just happens to be perfect. What I mean is that you're never in a crowded place. I wonder if other people bother you when you're doing these videos and you're just smart enough to edit them out.? Considering you have such a wide range of musical taste is it easy to assume that you play a musical instrument? Just curious, I was involved with music for many years. Thanks again for a fun video.
