    The difference between the sections that were underwater and the parts that weren't is very striking. The ship is so huge, there are some photos where it's hard to imagine that is part of a ship.

    After some research: Costa management officially never allowed to film inside the wreck in Genoa. They wanted the world to forget about the whole incident forever...
    So this really is the most courageous lost place video ever.
    My hat is off to you and thank you for not let us forget what happened, and the way officials don´t like to share information and visible proof about the facts.
    To my knowledge, Costa Concordia is now history. Finally wrecked and recycled in Summer 2017 without any trace anymore.

      ROOKTABULA: Oh fuck off with your anti-wealth bullshit. Considering that in most countries the wealthy pay more taxes in one year than the poor do in multiple lifetimes, I think they deserve a vacation every now and again. Especially since it's the poor that are such a drain on the economy versus the wealthy funding governments. You think the poor paid the most for the roads they use, the schools they destroy, the hospitals they abuse? No. They are doing it on someone else's dime, mainly the wealthy and middle class. I don't expect anyone to forfeit things they enjoy just because "the poor". If you can't shame the poor for their awful spending habits (TVs, Phones, Expensive care over saving, investing, or buying health insurance) then you can't shame the wealthy and middle class for enjoying the fruits of their labor either. @Rob despicable. A worthless excuse of a man. I speak Italian and I heard the radio communication between the cost guard commander Gregorio Di Falco and Captain Schettino. He ordered him to get back on the ship immediately and he did so using very strong language. I mean, he ripped Schettino another asshole, including calling him a spineless coward and get the fuck back on board. He did not get back on the ship and was one of the first to arrive on land. A Giglio officer offered to get a dinghy to get back on board but he declined. He is currently serving a 16 year prison sentence.

All of the marble, silk sheets, piano, stage light, luxurious lighting and carpet were destroyed in minutes looking like it had been in the water for years. All the dirt, sediment and debris looks so awful. And then there is the fact that people who were once alive and happy, had their lives taken in just minutes. It's astonishing what fixtures and furniture are still in place given the entire vessel was on its side. Would never have guessed this would be considering all the footage that exists of furniture tumbling across ships in storms. It's also astonishing that the wide open spaces such as the theatres remained intact and structurally sound with the ship in that position. I'd expect some sort of structural failure...

      BRIAN MOONEY in a way it is a modern day titanic, due to the arrogance and negligence of those running the ship destruction became of the magnificent ships. The workers of titanic were busy sending messages to shore for passengers and ignored another ships (known as The California) distress call saying there was an iceberg in the path, they cutoff communication with The California and less than 1 hour later they had collided with the iceberg, as well as this the captain decided to get sloppy drunk, ignore safety protocols and leave innocent people to die because he was being careless. Sounds pretty similar to me.

    • @debbiethomas2622
      @debbiethomas2622 5 років тому +3

      With the Titanic, Flair's were sent up but the passing ship thought it was for celebration and not all the crew were sending telegrams. Also, considering the navigational abilities of the times, human error in the form of watchman not seeing it till almost upon the iceberg compared to electronic devices being able to detect water depth and submerged items being over ridden might make this similar but I don't believe the Titanic's captain intent was anywhere near what this guy's was.

That hideous coward Schettino was lucky that the dead ship drifted to the shore which kept her 'upright' for crucial minutes. Had it drifted asea the death toll would have been massive, given the list and the utter chaos aboard. Also, it didn't split in two during 2 years on her side, as hulking as it was.

      Tristan Ziegler look up the costa Concordia preview video when it was a new ship , it was one of the prettiest cruise ships out there in my opinion !

      Good observation Tristan. Most likely "ugly" because it's been...well....underwater?

      When onboard, a master is captain first, and human second.

      You should not. but it's an obligation of the captain not to leave the vessel until everyone's have been accounted for (or how many are missing) and comanding the abandoning procedures. Only at the very end can a master leave the vessel.

      It goes with the job. And as with everything, as long as all goes well it looks (and kinda is) easy, but when the shit hits the fan...I'm sure everyone has his own bad experiences, although perhaps not as that bad!

    Excellent video. Early on in photos where the ship was its side was reminiscent of Titanic. Very eerie. Thanks!!👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️😟😟😟

    I watched the sinking of it and in all of the rooms I'm like, *That room used to be so beautiful...* Just, wow.

    Imagine this being the Titanic being raised if she was still in a one piece. The image of the outside promenade gave me that feeling. So sad, such a short life for a new ship and the lives lost just because the captain wanted to show off...
