The team saw how people just broke BotW and decided 'you know what, lets give them the tools to break the game even harder, and they won't even need to glitch anything to do so!'. Fuse alone is a big game changer; it seems like fusing straight up "repairs" your weapon since technically, it creates an all new one.
Little detail. In BotW the weather UI had a sun to represent if it’s a clear day. The sun had 6 circles around a big circle in the center. In TotK if you look at the sun icon, it has 8 circles surrounding a center circle now. Pretty neat how they subtly changed the UI.

I was worried that the scope of the game wouldn't be big enough, since people are still discovering new secrets in BotW six years later. But the Fuse ability alone will keep Tears of the Kingdom relevant AT LEAST a decade from now.

On the contrary, I felt like the possibilities are far too limited for how such an ability should be. Seems like it only allowing one fused part at a time? In other words only squaring the number of weapons, and most of them is unlikely to be very interesting combinations (there is an argument for populating a game with few weapons, but have each be thought-out with a clear design-decision behind it - rather than have loads of different, but functionally identical, weapons with a few thought-out ones hidden in the large set of possible combinations/locations etc.) As for the construction ability, feels like they just padded the skill-list with a branch of what should already have been part of the fuse ability (so noone complains about the removed ones from last game when having too few abilities). And even this branch is less interesting than one would have hoped, as it is literally only the weld-tool (from gmod). No axis/rope/motor tool or other interesting constraints to create some dynamic behaviours. Add to that how wonky the phys-gun seemed to work, and the lack of a spawn-menu... Though the biggest issue with maximizing its potential however, is clearly the lack of some equivalent to wiremod. It did have activate-able things such as thrusters, but from what was shown I don't see a way to "program", much less program, your contraptions. All that said though, I am still rather hype. Even if the abilities were lackluster compared to botw, the game is still likely to be really fun.

I don't know why the sight of Link running around a swinging a boulder on a tree branch is so funny to me. It's just the boulder shrunken down, but the fact that the shrinkage is probably just to make it so that it isn't clipping through the ground as Link stands makes me think that it really should be full size. Same with the log.
I sure hope so. In BOTW i have tried to set up bait for Golden Bokoblins many times, but it's a pain not being able to actually throw the meat in their direction and being limited to putting it in front of you

The ability is called "Recall". You are rewinding an objects movement. Its not really reversing time. Its as if every object that moves in the game is being recorded like a VCR by the game's engine and you can, in real time, rewind it.
the real question is, are guardians still around? cuz apparently some decayed guardians aren't at their spots anymore. And since Link doesn't have the sheikah slate anymore, i personally assume that all the sheikah stuff were replaced by zonai stuff for totk

Nah. Breath of the Wild's combat system would translate poorly into competitive multi-player. It would run into the same problem as the Punch Out remake for the Wii where the first person who attacks loses because of the Flurry Rush mechanic.
My guess with the meat arrow would be a kind of lure/decoy arrow, where the enemy is lured toward the spot you shoot the arrow at. Would make for some really interesting stealth strats!

My friends at school and I were discussing- what if you built a house and put it on a stick? Or stick a ton of logs together to make one giant log and the fused THAT to a stick? Or somehow shifted Link's orientation and allowed the player to use Ascend to go through walls
If you used ultra hand to make something complex and then fused it with a stick or whatever, would it fuse a single log or the entire construct? Because hypothetically you could attack clusters of spears, swords, or anything else together and just swing it around

I think those construct enemies have each their own job. Some guard the islands, the ones that attack you, and then the ranger ones! the one in the cave and on the other side of the water, plant trees

At first I was thinking that combat would be too easy, since there are so many OP possibilities with fuse. But now that I've thought about it, the enemies just might have the same broken possibilities as link, so therefore combat is a million times less lame instead of being easier.
Im curious if new puzzles and quests will be detective type gameplay where you use recall to retrace the steps of an object and get hints from the envirnoment to solve like a code

It would be funny if you could fuse as many items as you want. Imagine fusing like a boulder to the master sword. It would be like the Sword in the Stone from Puss in Boots last wish
My friends at school and I were discussing- what if you built a house and put it on a stick? Or stick a ton of logs together to make one giant log and the fused THAT to a stick?

It's basically Garry's mod. Ultrahand is the physics gun, fuse is the toolgun's weld ability and ascend is basically noclip.
If you used ultra hand to make something complex and then fused it with a stick or whatever, would it fuse a single log or the entire construct? Because hypothetically you could attack clusters of spears, swords, or anything else together and just swing it around

I think those construct enemies have each their own job. Some guard the islands, the ones that attack you, and then the ranger ones! the one in the cave and on the other side of the water, plant trees
I imagine the meat on an arrow is used as a distractor? Like how meat is used in BOTW to distract enemies, maybe you can distract them from far distances or make them walk away from their camp for stealth missions
