- These are the techniques I use to measure angles I see when sketching outdoors. As with other techniques, the more you draw and practice, the better you get.

I really like the clock trick/technique. For some reason, I have never seen this before. Much easier than, say, trying to figure out if something is a 30 degree angle!! You are also an excellent teacher.
Oh! That clock face method is a great idea! never heard of it... thank you for teaching this trick! By the way, I love the sounds from the street that enter the videos :) they add to the sensations of real life and somehow bring closer the information :)) I don't know how to explain.. it's like everything becomes more true for me :))
Thanks. The neighbourhood can be quite noisy at times. 😂
This is my first time commenting on a UA-cam Video, and I just want to say that the clock method is absolutely brilliant, and so are you!
Very useful techniques and advices.
Thanks!
Gracias!
Excellent tutorial - really foolproof way to mesure angles. Yes, it can be that easy...
You are amazing! I watched a video by Carl Dalio on perspective then I practiced, he was in studio, and when you actually do it real life something is missing, but you covered it, this is the part he is missing, the application. I also took a class, we never left the classroom, what!? bad teaching. Everything has perspective in art, even a pear. Love it! Thank you so much!!!
Great tip Teoh, thanks
Great tips! Thank you.
I really love your artworks! And thanks for your videos. Saludos desde Córdoba, Argentina😄😄😄😄
Thanks :-)
Very helpful. I'm another one who found the clock face idea especially helpful... definite 'aha!' moment for me. Thanks!

No doubt this will be very useful. I will definitely try to implement your idea. Thanks again for yet another video. Short and yet very useful. Thanks Teoh!

Enjoyed this video today, Teoh. Also to let you know I watched a good part of your first podcast. You did so well. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks :-)
DIdn't see your comment.
That clock idea sounds very useful and I will try it! Thanks!
In the section where you used your pencil pressed to your sketch book to align with the edge of a building and you reminded the viewer not to move the pencil as they moved the book back onto their laps/desk I would add one can use a second pencil or small ruler instead of the artist’s pencil. In that way one can use their left or other hand to hold the ruler in place as one moves the book back down to complete the sketch. This is how I do it on occasion and it works for me. Once again, I enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Answered so many questions!
This is awesome!
clock method blew me away, thank you!
Hi thank you so much for this video its so good and has helped me to work out the inbetween
Smaller angles .
I am new to drawing but your videos are excellent and easy to work with.
I love your sketches they are so interesting
Best wishes
Lynda
I like the idea of thinking about it like a clock. I've never done that, but will certainly try it.
Still good to measure first with pencil, then use the clock face method. If not the angles will play tricks with your eyes.
Very helpful thank you
well done and very clear
Thanks :-)
Quite helpful. Thank you.

Just finished watching the video now😁.. The clock face tip was really nice😄
wow the clock is so much more intuitive than using degrees thanks alot!
the clock method is at 5:30 and it's very helpful people. try it out
Hi Teoh.. love ur videoes and techniques. Where do u pick these images? If u taking them urself.. what angles r u using to decide which pic will be good to draw 😊
I take the photos myself. I try to capture overlapping elements, and also make sure the shapes are recognisable easily at a glance.
Thanks Teoh. I started drawing a few pictures after watching ur videos and understanding the techniques u have taught. I must say it’s a really enjoyable experience even though the people I draw look weird.. I never get faces right 😁.. now they are just blobs but yet the overall piece is nice. Thanks Teoh.
But you have distortion. Don't you want to correct the parallax before copying from your photo?
That's the problem with drawing from photos. Sometimes I correct, sometimes I don't
