- After Ed Bolian set the record for the NY to LA Cannonball Run he discovered another band of outlaws that had taken a different approach to paying homage to the legendary races of the 1970s. He decided to try to find a car to participate in their low budget cross country race - The 2904. He found this 12 owner, 2 accident, salvage title S55 with the airbags previously deployed and the frame damaged on Craigslist Las Vegas and bought it for $1,500.

What could possibly go wrong with an AMG car that cost less than one of its shocks?
P WrightisRight At worst, you'll lose $1500, you'd easily get that back and some if you were to part it out though.

You just need to swap the head bolts assuming it hasn't been done and find the cheapest coilovers to put it on "or patch the air shocks if you're reckless" and it should be reliable mechanically speaking.
@@MrAdoh2010 coil overs would be a $1000. Sell the shocks to Arnott for $200. $800 total cost.

Ed Bolian You could find in UA-cam, 3 Lambos with Singapore REG invovled in a pile up which caught fire on the MALAYSIA North-South PLUS Highway....and the funny part is, the drivers ain't the owner, they just ditch the cars and took a bus back to Singapore...l am too lazy to look for the link.

ed bolian understands that if you need to pound on a powerful v8 for many thousands of miles without fuss, it has to be an AMG. he's proven it twice.
You could do the same thing with a Chevy truck engine plopped into a 1984 shit box with rust up the side.

This guy is one of the best story tellers I have ever seen.
So I've been having a really really bad few months lately and I just have to say, listening to any of ed's stories always helps to cheer me up. He might not see this but I just wanted to leg him know I love cars I love vinwiki and all of these stories are extremely entertaining and definitely help a bad day to feel better. Loving these videos.
That stuff is great to fall asleep to. The stories are pleasant but not too exciting, the voice is soothing and the guy just sits there in dark surroundings, so there's not much visual disturbance.

My first taste of an AMG was when we took that car on the Rally! I couldn't believe how well it handled with all that fuel and extra weight.

There's one of these in the parking lot at my workplace tucked behind our company Chevy 4500 box truck that we never use. I'm guessing it's supposed to have airbag suspension because it's always sitting chassis-to-asphalt. In a year and a half it has only moved once.
