I want to make sure you know I will not play favorites on the thrift battle between you and Yvon. You are both amazing! I hold you both in the highest regard! I learn so much from you ladies, and what I learn is different depending on who I am watching, and I love that! I sure hope I didn't hurt your feelings Kat. If I did, I am so very sorry!
There are four of you that I watch faithfully including you and Yvon. I adore all of you, value each of you, and I just couldn't choose a favorite! I can't thank you enough for all you do!

A good tip for shipping multiple china pieces in the same box. Wrap each item with several layers of bubble wrap after stuffing any hollows with wadded up newspaper or styrofoam peanuts. Tape all of the wrapped items together in one big ball so nothing can knock against each other. Pick a box that gives about 2" of space on all sides between the big ball and the inside of the box. Use your styrofoam peanuts or wadded newspaper or whatever you use as padding to fill in the empty spaces while centering the big ball inside of the box. When you have enough packing materials in the box so the top of the box does not easily cave in when pressed, seal your box and it is ready to ship. I have never had breakage when shipping this way for either glass, china, or pottery and I have been selling online for over 25 years now.

During World War 2 US and England dropped 3900 tons of bombs on Dresden and destroyed 1600 acres of the city center. They wiped out the Dresden pottery business. That's why Dresden china is so rare and expensive.

I packed a whole Lenox china set and carried it on an airplane across the country without one chip. We also brought very delicate carved candles from Hawaii with no chips. The secret is in the bubble wrap. Wrap each piece first in small bubble wrap, then in the larger bubbles. Once each item is wrapped, cover the whole again with big bubble wrap as a whole, allowing no movement of the items. Then box it tightly.

When I was 12 years old my sister and i were playing In the alley of our house my uncle leon had just lost my aunt to a long time illness so we were hiding behind a tree a he was digging a huge hole about 5 feet long and very deep he had all of my aunts things tea pots China jewelry in boxes and he buried them in the back yard he never saw us, so till this day the tea pots and jewelry and all her belongings are in that back yard. The house was sold after he passed away and the new owners have no idea what's buried in their back yard. I live far away but one day I will go there and let them know, but I don't think the items will be in good condition after 48 years under ground seeing your video of the tea pots reminded me of the tea pots, My sister and I never told anyone and we all grew up and moved out and basically forgot about it.

The Rae Dunn prices blow me away. Her stuff isn't personally made by her but is mass-produced and sold by stores like TJMax and imho isn't even attractive. It's like any fashion trend, driven by groupthink and not necessarily based on sound judgment. I wouldn't pay ten bucks for most of her stuff for my personal use but of course I would pay that if I was going to resell it.

But I know that I've seen some really beautiful teapots and passed them up. I even collect tea cups and saucers. I just love the beautiful flowers and fruit. They are my favorite. But I have some strange looking ones too but I just had to have them. I have purchased most of mine at garage sales and antique sales. I cannot pay much for anything but I'm really good at talking the price down at least some. Thank you SO much for these "value" videos! I, personally, would love it if you would do a video of teapots valued between $75-$100.

Well, as usual, I am very grateful for your work and this information. I have a beautiful set of Royal Albert that was my Great Grandmother's! It sits very lovely and pretty up on a shelf. Many years ago, a lady offered me $500 for it and I declined. She said to please let her know if I changed my mind. Not yet *smile*. But, I do need to research and get acquainted with the current value. I'm not in a hurry to part with it. It's beautiful. I have a bunch of other teapots - they are fun to collect. THANKS! This is great!

I just started watching you - and regret I hadn't started sooner! A lot of content in a clear concise manner. (Pronunciation does not count!)
I was fascinated by the costume jewelry one also!
I'm not a resellar as of yet - need to become one just to empty my house and carriage barn!
Would love to see 300 dollars and less teapots!
Ok on to another of your vids!

Lots of stay at home moms, lose out on getting Social Security in later life, as well as minimized pensioners etc..
I stayed home for awhile, no Social Security now… retired.. because I stayed home..
