Ive put tooooo many hours into reviewing utility type smart watches...... that being said, I am glad I came across this review video. Garmin Enduro 2 it is. It has everything i could ever want and relevant for years to come. Build like a tank, sapphire glass, solar, large screen, touch screen, beautiful accurate topo map (WITH NAMES), accurate GPS, loads quick and generally a slick looking watch.......DONE DEAL. An investment that will be worth it 5 years down the road. Thanks for the review man!
Note for all you brand new Enduro 2 owners! You may not see Training Readiness and HRV status on your device. If this is the case, the firmware for those features hasn't yet been released but rest assured it's coming in the next quarterly release which is right around the corner. However, if you just can't wait and you'd like to test out these features now, you can sign up for Garmin's public beta program by logging into your Garmin Connect account on the web, selecting the watch icon in the top-right corner, find the correct watch and select ‘Device Settings.’ Then ‘Join Beta Software Program’ option. Just note of course that it is indeed beta software so it may not be fully baked so you may experience bugs here or there. Hope this clears things up for some folks! Thanks!

Price is not the issue, but I can't decide if I want the light weight and Amoled of the FR 965 for my aging eyes, or the the huge battery and all the extra features of the E2.
I got the Enduro 2 this week and was worried it would be too big. I was coming from the samsung galaxy 4 watch. I don't hardly notice it and am having no trouble sleeping with it. I do notice it a bit when running. Love the watch. Yes the flashlight is amazing. Thanks for your great reviews.
Great review! I am debating between the 7x Solar Pro and the Enduro 2. I'm older and still workout. I do more functional lifting, KB's, rucking, hiking and Mtb as far as activities. Thanks for taking the time to give us all so much information! If not for the neon green, this would be an easy decision over the Fenix 7X SS. Love the idea of the brighter LED and even longer battery! Probably be standard in the Fenix 8X SS. 😄
Thanks for a great comprehensive review. I've done Mt. Sanitas myself back in the day and those metrics would have been fun and useful to look at. Apart from the lack of AMOLED, what a device. It was gratifying also that you covered all the main features in one video.
Sanitas is such a great trail! They have AMOLED on the Epix but it's just not possible to get this kind of battery life unless it's MIP with today's technology. Thanks!
Thank you for this review. Very useful. Currently using Suunto 9 and its battery suddenly started eating up rapidly. Considering to buy new one. Showing the accuracy of GPS track with comparison of 2 models is really interesting info for ultra trail runner. Appreciated.
That's really good to know about the updated HR monitor... My first gen instinct solar is SOoo bad with wrist HR. Even switching it to my right wrist when my left is full of tattoos. It never reads correctly.
I have the Fenix 7, best watch for cycling I have owned. I have the Varia radar, ant+ devices, ect. I actually like the extended display option. Typically, I’ll do 2 activities a day. My battery life is only about a week. Still way better than the Apple Ultra. Next time, I’ll consider the Enduro series after a few years.
I was stuck on the fenix 7x pro solar sapphire. But now I'm considering the Enduro 2. Is the main difference the battery and thicker case minus the upgraded HR sensor?
What a fantastic review! I’m in the research mode, and your review has really impressed me with this watch. Two questions: (1) Titanium bezel on back - what is the bezel material on the front? (2) Does Garmin have a golf app that can be downloaded on this watch? Garmin’s S62, for example, has this, allowing the golfer to know distances to hazards and the flag. Thank you very much!
Just loving your review Des!always makes a difference to me to finally make a selection! Wanted to ask you if enduro is still worth buying and if gill score is a feature thats on with latest firmware...is the multiband same as dual frequency? Thanks in advance
One critical feature that was missing for me on Garmins was the lack of constant vibration when receiving a phone call. Is it still the case? Does it only vibrate a couple of times and stops even if the phone call ring is ongoing?

What a beast of a watch. I am still happy with my 5x but maybe is time to upgrade soon. Tons of features for the the multi sports adventure person, I would end using (running, trail, weight and walk) but still very nice looking watch.
Halfway through my 4th year with my 5X ; 115 degrees in the Pantanal and -20 in the Himalayas and still performing perfectly; I agree that the neon green is an unnecessary distraction, but the Enduro 2 will probably replace my 5X and come in thinner and lighter and with music storage; gotta love that flashlight and battery life
It seems that this watch and everything up to the 7x Pro are much more stable and dependable than any of the new Garmin watches with the new software and user interface. The newer watches seem to have a lot of problems with battery life, random restarts, lost data, glitches, etc..

As always great review, thanks. Noticed, that nylon strap a bit little than 26mm, looks like 24 or 25 mm. Or this band shrinks under excessive sweating? :)
Thanks @DesFit for a great review. I also watched your review on Fenix 7 Pro. How would you compare Enduro 7 to Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar Edition? Does the extra battery beat crispier display and a new version of heart rate sensor? Thanks
Good question. I went with the fenix 7x pro ss and I am really happy with it. Would've liked the extra battery life of the enduro 2, but I wanted the updated sensor and a slightly cheaper price.( Only 699 on sale on Amazon last week. )
Nah, don’t think it will at all. The Fenix 7X has more color options, more subtle styling, and to be honest not a lot of people really need the battery life of the Enduro 2. Like for me, 36 hours is still totally fine on the 7X. It’s just cool to see Garmin push it further though. Thanks!
Thank you for an awesome review ! Did you have any discomfort where the HR sensor sits with the nylon band ? The nylon straps make it super comfortable where the bands sit but I’m curious if that comes at the cost of the watch itself being super secure on your skin.
I really enjoyed the review, but the thing that all reviews seem to do, yours included, is to mention the price at the end. I think the very first thing a review should bring up is the price rather than waiting until the last minute of an 18 minute video.
The software will be consistent between the Fenix 7 and the Enduro 2 in the very near future so the difference between the F7 and E2 will be the flashlight and longer battery life. 👍
Thank you for your in-depth review of the watch in a real world scenario. I am considering purchasing the watch and appreciate how you have reviewed/tested the Enduro 2. Regarding the heart rate monitor, I wanted to ask if it is more/less/same accurate if the watch is worn in the inside of the wrist. Have you tried that? Does the solar panel actually make any difference to extending the battery life? Some reviews show that after a whole day in the sun the battery only charged 5%. What is your experience with this? Thank you once again.
The solar charging delays discharge but it doesn't provide unlimited charging time like the Instinct 2 Solar. The display on the Instinct 2 consumes much less power and it also has larger solar charging surface area which makes it more efficient. That said the Enduro 2 has some of the best battery life of any current sports watch especially considering the breadth of features it has. I have not tried wearing it on the inside of my wrist but have heard of others having success but can't speak to it personally. Thanks!
I got my Enduro 2, and I'm loving it. I am hesitant to take it to the pools with me to do my swimming as I think it will ruin it. I know it can is waterproof and is made for doing laps at the pool. Do you think it's OK that I use it in the pool?
So much conflict. I'm well within my return window on the 7XSS. I'd like the Enduro, but the thickness of the 7X is already hefty for sleeping. But sure would like the bright light and the added stamina. Hm. And... there's that tightly kept secret of a mystery watch, the Garmin Austin, I'd like to see before making a decision. Any details released on it yet?
Very nice. I'm hoping REI will sell it to get me a few dollars off. Also, I'm hoping to move my Garmin titanium band from my Fenix3HR to the Enduro 2. I could use the EKG feature that Apple has but for everything else, I think the Enduro 2 will be better for me. Most of my backpacking trips are two or three days, so either the Fenix 7X or the Enduro 2 would do.
This watch's display is MIP. My Venu uses AMOLED and I'm not sure I can go back to a transflective display (had the first Vivoactive). I've never had a problem seeing it in sunlight and if I need always on it can be enabled. I'll probably upgrade to a Venu 2 Plus later this year or wait for the Venu 3 to drop.... for a third of the price.
Glad you are enjoying your Venus. This watch is definitely aimed at getting the longest battery life possible so that's really only achievable with the MIP. But it's great that they have so many options for different preferences!
Amazing review, I am ready to upgrade my Fenix 5X and i was very close to pulling the trigger on the Fenix 7 Sapphire solar, then i see your review for the Enduro 2. which should i get.. I am MTBr and trail runner, not a lot of ultra endurance workout sessions.. the battery life is a huge sell, but i am not sure i am crazy about the bronzy yellow color accents on the case..
i do love the colour on this one. I'm about happy with the 6X Pro, the GPS is not perfect but not as bad as some ppl have complained. But the main reason i wanna change is for the multiband+dual freq, i could go FR955 but i'm afraid i might regret it. If your F5X has enough batery for your activities, i think the F7 Saphire solar should be enough, the enduro 2 basically only brings more battery. :/
I was watching your Galaxy Watch4 fitness review and left it to watch later on the body composition feature segment, I can't seem to find the video anymore, is it gone?
Is the buckle on the silicone band made of titanium to match the watch or is it just steel? I had the Enduro 1 and while the Ultrafit band is light, it is cheap as heck. I dont like how it is velcro at both ends. We only need one adjuster, the other end should just be fixed to the watch. It just looks so insanely cheap for such an expensive watch. I mean look at the Trail band for the Apple Watch Ultra. It's a very similar band but the apple watch band has nice titanium ends and premium touches that just makes it feel special instead of just cheap cheap cheap.
Thank you for the content. I have a weird use case and would like your opinion. I am looking for a device that will track my sleep and give me a recovery rating. Bc of this reviews pointed me into the Garmin family as being most accurate with body battery. I also like the idea of maps etc bc I do hike often BUT my primary activity I want to track would be BJJ. I was considering a Garmin watch and a chest strap bc we can’t wear watches etc on the mat. Considered whoop bc of arm sleeves etc but I refuse to pay subscriptions. HRV and steps would be nice also. Any guidance / advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼
For being able to track sleep, recovery, and activity tracking during BJJ the Garmin ecosystem would probably be best to collect it all in one place without having to pay a subscription. Using the HRM Pro or HRM Pro Plus during BJJ and a watch the rest of the time. 👍

I really enjoyed the review, but the thing that all reviews seem to do, yours included, is to mention the price at the end. I think the very first thing a review should bring up is the price rather than waiting until the last minute of an 18 minute video.
Sorry, just my style but appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
Excellent Comparison
Thanks!
Nice review. Many thanks.
Thanks!
Really nice video 👍. How would you compare the nylon band from garmin with the nylon band from coros? Any significant differences?
Great video, could you do a comparison between epix Fenix 7 and enduro 2. Keep up the good work
The software will be consistent between the Fenix 7 and the Enduro 2 in the very near future so the difference between the F7 and E2 will be the flashlight and longer battery life.
Thanks!
Des, great review! Would you pic this over the Epix 2?
Depends on what you’re looking for…crazy long battery life or a super pretty screen. The choice is yours! 😀
great review as always.. do you know if they will include HVR?
HRV status? If so, yes, it has it 👍
Amazing review…. Which tshirt are you wearing.
It's a Salomon shirt. Thanks!
Hi please help with how to navigate to created waypoint directly no auto routing, straight line with a 7x solar. just cant seem to find any info
DO you review the Tactix? How do you feel it would compare to the Enduro 2
I have a Fenix 6pro, will some or any of the new software features for the 955 or Enduro2 be ported to the 6 series? Great video btw 😊
I got my Enduro 2, and I'm loving it. I am hesitant to take it to the pools with me to do my swimming as I think it will ruin it. I know it can is waterproof and is made for doing laps at the pool. Do you think it's OK that I use it in the pool?
Ofcourse
Hey man!
Can you a comparison video of Apple Watch Ultra vs Fenix 7X Vs Enduro 2
Already in the works 👍
So much conflict. I'm well within my return window on the 7XSS. I'd like the Enduro, but the thickness of the 7X is already hefty for sleeping. But sure would like the bright light and the added stamina. Hm. And... there's that tightly kept secret of a mystery watch, the Garmin Austin, I'd like to see before making a decision. Any details released on it yet?
This is very exciting Des! Does it also have the Stamina/Potential fields for cycling that are on the Fenix 7 and Edge 1040?
Yup!
@@DesFit Fantastic! Thanks for confirming!
Can this connect to third party sensors like the speed and cadence sensors from Polar? Thank you
Man this watch looks delicious.
Love it des!!!!
Thanks Wouter!
next forks is that like trailfork names and strava names from tracks? i have a gritXpro now want to upgrade to enduro2
Great review as always, but... was that other watch with the blue line drunk?! 😀
Haha, punch drunk! Thanks!
@@DesFit Thanks for the reply! Looking at the 955 today. I believe this is the cheapest option which does everything I am looking for.
