I wanted to buy my first planar IEM and accidentally stumbled upon your squiglink graph of MP145 and compare it with QKZ X HBB and Meteor's graph, some two weeks ago or so.
Seeing all three graph almost similar with only some difference in treble for MP145 (knew it would be due to planar IEM), I ordered it right away.
And now your video came and felt very glad and happy that my hunch was right and I didn't waste my money on something else.
Now waiting for MP145 eagerly. 😅
Thanks for this review.
It is different from meteor, bit more treble… but the bass vibe is very similar and it’s definitely tuned similarish. I like it
so how do you like it? how is it for bollywood music?
As a first IEM...you landed on an excellent choice. At it's price point...the competition is really tough and the MP145 still manages to perform well above that point. I prefer them over my S12's...though the later are excellent and have a smaller, more manageable form factor for travel in my BT earhook recharge case. At my home office/desk, the MP145's are my preference (vs. S12, Hexa, T3+, Olina, Lea, KZ Castor, Tangzu Wan 'er, CCA CRA). I have the ARTI T10, CCA Rhapsody, and KX Castor (improved) on the way...I like choices and the ability to change IEM's depending on music genre/use case. I suspect the T10 may give it a run for the money (this one is another price/performance bargain planar), but none of them can compare to the overall sound, quality, fit/finish, and accessories that come with the MP145 (save for its case...which is a bag and not a case).
Ya, the red nozzles are the special sauce. Warm, thick planar done very right.
Totally! Red nozzles changed it completely
MP145 gang!
Heck ya!
How is imaging and macro-detail or macrodynamics on this set?
Love mine. I go between the red and the brass nozzles using a copper-only cable. Only niggle I've found is the cable/ear hook fit. Because of that, this is a sit-and-enjoy IEM.
Nice!! Glad you like them. Hmm, maybe ya ear hooks could be an issue
How is the MACRO-DETAIL and imaging on this set?
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours kind sir
To you as well :)
Solid review, looks like a good iem
Thanks. Ya, pretty good for what it is!
I wonder why hidizh not come with interchangeable termination 🤔
At this price point it would’ve been difficult for them to find a cable with interchangeable terminations without increasing the cost to the consumer. You thankfully have the option to get a balanced connection when ordering, which is more than good enough for me.
I’d rather forego the interchangeable connection and use my own, or have the option at checkout, than pay more for the IEM itself. If this were in the $350-500 range, I’d expect a better cable for sure.
@@Silverjerk , ah..so at the checkout I would have an option for a balance termination, this is damn good, thanks for the info.
@@woka_kawanua-hw2hj indeed, you can select 4.4 as an option. And anytime!
Good question… not sure
@HobbyTalk how is macrodynamics or macro-detail and imaging on this set? Awesome review 👍
Define exactly what you mean as every person has a different interpretation of these words
This planar has received a lot of attention lately (good and bad). Their marketing to benefit whales seemed to be handled poorly from what I've heard but the product itself receives generally favorable reviews (other than size 🐳😉). I'm not too surprised you like the red nozzles the best. The graphs I've seen attracted my attention for the same reason. 😅 How do you feel about this one as compared to the BASN MTPro? I don't think too many people have heard both. Thank you for another great review! 👍
MTPro is such a different tuning… they’re equally good but so different. MTPro had better matching too. MTPro is very colored, this one is less colored. If I could only have one probably would take MTPro cause I have others that sorta do this tuning.
Its big but its NOT heavy. Heavyish maybe. (my OH10 is heavy at 16 gram each, 145 is 10 grams ) I'll agree with the rest. Its a stellar piece of kit.
Hahaha woah… 16 grams!? Haha
@@HobbyTalkI can attest to the OH10.
@@HobbyTalkYeah It's a thick copper shell. But it's comfy using the right tips.
Yeaah ! I also prefer the red nozzles. It's more neutral or realist than the two others wich are too shouty in the upper mids. Your target is very interesting by the way 😎👍
My target is Meteor bass, Dusk upper mids, then Meteor treble basically lol hobbytalk.squig.link/?share=Hobby_Talk_Preference_Target,Moondrop_Dusk_DSP_2,Symphonium_Meteor_SJ
@@HobbyTalk lol Interisting ! I'm trying to figure out what's the closest target to neutrality or realism for an IEM, and yours is pretty good. looks a bit like Antdroid's, but with more bass.
My current favourites! But those chonky shells look weird when I wear them outside home 😅
They are heavy and awkward for sure… but they do sound great!
I always where them outside...they seem to scare away blue-haired Karens with ease.
great review! which one you would chose between those and TANGZU x HBB Wu Heyday Edition sound wise? and why? thanks!
This because it has a couple different tunings and better bass. Also cable is more comfortable around the ears.
I really am a red nozzle guy too. Most reviewers hang there hats on the gold nozzle…..not me red 4 me.
Gold?! Really?! Lol Red is objectively the better choice hahahaha
@@HobbyTalk couldn’t agree more. Especially through my FiiO Q15.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! How is the size vs TE zero?
Very similar size nozzle, both will destroy tips haha
At last an iem review almost 1 month later
I heard them this thing is just great but I aren't a planar fan
Very fair… haha that treble ain’t for everyone
For all the hype they have, they are kinda pricey😅. The Artti T10 would suffice.
Thank you for the review kind sir!
Fair enough, for sure
Would these eq pretty well? I've heard this set has very minimal planar timbre versus stuff like s12 so playing around with different signatures would be very nice. just wish the shells were smaller
EQs just fine :)
If you've tried oh10, how do these compare fitwise..?
Havnt tried it sorry
For me, Oh10 is very comfy. MP145 is pretty big, had to tip roll. Finally settled on Moondrop Spring tips. Perf...

Thanks for the input..
@@ravirajpawar7734 yea you're welcome
is there anything better in terms of hybrid that competes with this in the price range?
Simgot EM6L probably, but it’s more shout
Would you recommend EQwing the spiciness out? I’m super sensitive to sibilance but everything else sounds perfect to me. I actually like when highs are smooth controlled and radiating but there’s a thin line where it becomes unbearable. (Really enjoy the music of Clever) Do you think this handles highs / upper mid-highs well? Do you need a Dac/amp to get good controlled performance in the highs? Ty!
EQ is always an option… apple dongle drove it just fine
I do not find this iem sibilant at all. Especially not with the standard filter and ear-tips
I have used the ifi gryphon and the moondrop dawn pro. Balanced..
I use the standard filter with the vocal ear-tips. That combination, for me, really makes it sound like a good planar driver. Comparable to the hifiman XS. If you have heard that.
@@NorthDKK is it something you could listen to all day, within reason?
@@b-ricebobice4941 yes. With the standard filter and tips. But it also depends on what volume and what kind of music you listen to. It also depends on if you like planar or not. And how well recorded the music is.
I would not call these sibilant. But if you don't like details and and good clear treble. I would not choose these. I love the planar sound. So I could listen to these all day..
@@NorthDKK currently I ’ve been really enjoying the QKZHBB but I’m looking to upgrade. I was thinking either MP 145 or the Fudu. I love my bass, but I also like that sensation when the highs feel like they’re vibrating in the center of your brain. Don’t know if there’s a word for that. What I don’t like is distorted highs, or shoutyness. I like to listen to a lot of different types of music. Even though I’m listening to hip-hop 60% of the time I also enjoy metal and I’ve been having a hard time fully enjoying metal since getting into IEMs since it seems difficult to reproduce fast distorted guitars in a neutral controlled way with Iems.. I heard planar were a solution to this problem so that’s what got me interested in the MP145. With all that being said, I really enjoyed the warmth and the musicality of the QKZ HBB.
Mp145 vs Basn mtpro?
Wildly different tunings… MP145 is a safer recommendation
@@HobbyTalk what’s the tuning of basn mtpro’s?
@@OUTKHAST very colored, some would say muddy… lots of bloat… but it’s planar so it handles it well and I find it fun
@@HobbyTalk I’m coming from Tri I3 Pro so I already have something that’s fun
this vs nova (or any sub $200 models) for endgame IEM...which one do you suggest?
Havnt tried nova sorry
@@HobbyTalk ahh its ok....just saw your dunu falcon ultra and simgot ea1000 review videos but couldnt grasp the differences between these...how do these 3 IEMs compare for endgame iem ? (i know im comparing planar to DDs but mp145 has DDesque tonality)
@@bestcocbaseswithlink5069 if I could only have one probably the MP145 as I prefer planar to DD myself. I haven’t tried the Nova sorry…
@@HobbyTalk ahh i see...what do you like in mp145 more than in dunus and simgots of the world, mind elaborate?
@@bestcocbaseswithlink5069 the upper treble is more filled in and slightly better seperation on instruments
