This is one of, if not THE best, full coverage of an Amp, that I have ever seen. Literally walks you through and at a easy pace too. Well done and good job on the new mono amp too!
kudos for saving the money on the pots - it's a job of the music source (read Walkman, iPhone, Android) , resistance steps volume controller or high-quality digital knobs controlled AVR preamp to adjust the milliWatt input to the V3. I strongly agree with the removal of the 'Potentiometer' for volume control, less parts to be worried about. Only dumb will request this in a 'mono' AMP!
Well done, this is an absolute godsend to the community. I am very impressed with this implementation and the supplied measurements thus far. Next up; bigger boxes with reliable built in power supplies?
If you are concerned with overheating, you might want to check or use the coolers used for laptops. You can put these amps over the laptop coolers to cool the amps. I bought a used laptop cooler at the thrift store for $5.00. The cooler I bought has two fans which is perfectly pointed to each of the amps on top. Although the amps do not get that hot, I still put them on top of the coolers just in case the amps need some cooling.
If you are adding fans to an amp, you should be reconsidering the brand, especially a Gan amp and if class D you should be stripped of your engineering degree.
@@thelowprofile9767I've actually seen them and I own one what the hell does that have to do with buying something for an inadequately designed to amplifier
Interesting. Which op amp(s) do you advise to add a little warmth/smoothness, improved soundstage, little bit more emphasis on reverb to the sound without losing clarity/fidelity/details?
How can a 5.1 setup be achieved with monos ? What device will provide 5 channel preamp signal with DSP for surround setup? Is there a DAC with 5 channel output , eARC input and sub out ? Some help on the matter please 🙏🏻 Also can i use the Wiim Pro Plus with a set of those? Does the Wiim PP have volume control?
Schiit Audio Syn is a 5.1 surround DAC for $399, but looks like RCA or optical input only, no HDMI eARC. But as the other commentor said, you could use an AVR that has pre-outs, that just might set you back a bit for one with pre-outs for the 5 primary surround channels
Is it possible/safe to have one sub - but still in stereo - with these monos? If so, what would be the safest way to connect them to a single rel sub? 🙏🏼
Thanks for all the replies.. I have 2 VA-3’ s running in mono already so I guess another dumb question … will these amps sound better being that they are specifically designed for mono ?
I would love a 32 Ohm (mono mode) : 33.5W RMS per channel, 300 Ohm (mono mode) : 6.4W RMS per channel 600 Ohm (mono mode) : 3.5W RMS per channel mono headphone Amplifier stack from fosi for $500 or less for for things like the modhouse tungsten double-sided☺☺☺️
i have za3 and i think it has 5 op amps. I replaced 2 for the left and right channel. Why do V3 mono has 3? What are the two op amps for as you said the third one is for the conversion of RCA to balanced.
One noisy underpowered smps for two monoblocks? MONOBLOCKS BY DEFINITION ASSUMES DISCRETE DEDICATED POWER Supplies.. Topping B100 or B200 measures far better. Why so puny size ? @@crazyprayingmantis5596 2 Schitt audio Vidars would be more than comparable and cost $1600. So are you saying the Fosi's will retail at $160 for a pair?
The loudspeakers (and room, and recording quality) should have a lot more to say about the final sound quality than almost any amplifier. This gives a lot of power for not so much money.

In the Opamp Rolling segment, you don't mention the third slot near the input section. Is there no sonic advantage to rolling this third opamp?

do these come only in 230 volts or are they also available also in 110-120 volts

2 for balanced, one for rca

Thank U for the video. One question : Is it OK to supply power from a single power supplyer?
Sure, you can choose the option of one psu+one amp.
I am wondering why they have to get so hot?
@fosiaudio whom should I contact for reviewing your product for both written and video reviews?
Excellent ! Awaiting for GaN based monoblocks :-)
I've had 3 mini GaN amps die. I have no faith in that technology any longer
Can you tell us which GAN Amps had trouble? I
Use ClassDaudio for home theater but are about $700 per monoblock
Can you make a matching preamp with 80hz high pass stereo out, and low pass stereo out?
Yes, we're actually making it. We invite you to join our community to get update about it. facebook.com/groups/fosiaudiocommunity

The vast majority of subs use internal amplifiers.
You could connect your REL to the V3 Mono's with an RCA splitter cable. But it's probably better to drive your powered sub directly from the preamp.
Low Budget AB amp VS this one?
Are your rated power figures for 1 power supply for 2 V3s? Do you recommend 1 or 2 power supply for a pair of V3s?
When we connect a 48V/5A psu to a v3 mono, we can get a rated power of 240W into a 4ohms load.
If I already have 2 48v 5 amp Power supplies from the VA3 can I just order the mono blocks alone ?
Yes
You can order one unit without power supply on Kickstarter. But all the Two-unit options include power supply - either the 5A or the big 10A.

Exactly! Waiting until they appear on Amazon......
The v3 mono is in the mass production stage now. You'll be the first to receive it if you order via kickstarter.
amazing. now do a multichannel one 😁
what is the 8Ohms output?
98W

You can buy a TPA3255 amp module within 20 dollars. The so-called Post-Filter Feedback (PFFB) are just a few capacitors and resistors.
Should an audio source really be connected directly to a power amplifier?
If it has volume control, sure !
In the video we used a Sony D99 discman as the audio source which has a volume control.😃
MUST have volume controller. Start by using the lowest volume before powering on ANY power amps.

The problem with these mini components is that they cannot supply floor speakers with sound, only bookshelf speakers.

The Chinese power amps need to specify RMS power ratings instead of peak power!
Why? They have more than enough power
