I own a new pixel 2XL...but why...because phones haven't changed enough to warrant spending way over $1000 dollars to get the latest phone. I hate the new phones because they have huge bevels sticking out for their cameras. I own it because it is that good and very cheap to buy brand new still in the box !
Great video and comprehensive summary of the Pixel 2 for/in 2024, I fully agree with all your points It was my first Pixel device in 2017 and the camera was way ahead of it's time, especially in such a compact size for one handed use, that we dont really get anymore nowadays I replaced the battery and still use it to this day as a back up while travelling or whenever the other phone is charging Keep up the solid content and looking forward to your first 1mil subscribers 👍
I just bought one to use as my daily driver. Because its simple, light and yes, has no camera bumps. Someone needs to make phones that are small and light with no camera bumps.. great video and thanks for the info 👍
And a "normal" 16:9 aspect ratio Did never understand why they stretched the aspect ration on smartphones. I have a pixel 5 now with the wrong screen, I have to stomach it 😅
Great video!! Purchased a Pixel 2 in Kinda Blue for myself back in 2021 for the use as a secondary device but in 2023, I've changed the battery and screen and switched over from my Redmi. Best decision ever. I do agree with all your points in the video, especially with the battery life. But with my type of usage, I can get by through a day just fine. Camera never ceases to amaze me every time I take photos with it and nothing can beat that small compact form factor as well. Love the content you put out, keep it up!! ❤
I have both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and I still love them. Had the Pixel 2 on contract and decided to carry on using it. Now they are both on Android 14 via custom rom and still perform brilliantly. Whats point of going for a pixel 9
I was always a fan of compact phones and pixel 2 was one of them so I preferred a pixel 2 over a pixel 4 XL because it was more compact than the latter.
My pixel 2Xl is amazing, though its banged up now **both cameras don't work due to screen cracking and dirt penetrating** but you can't compare the performance and endurance this phone has. Best camera by far, super fast and still stylish kynda😅😅. Love this phone.
I buy a Pixel 2 in 2024 and is wonderful!!! All work fine, Play some PS2 games, Gamecube, spund and screen are nice and your pocket size is discrete. Pixel 2 is a gem
One question, if you purchase an older android phone in which the life cycle for OS and Security updates has already ended will the phone automatically update to the latest OS and security update that was available for the phone?
I miss my Pixel 2 XL Panda. Loved the phone. However the screen cracked under the top layer. So weird. And was more expensive to replace the screen than the phone
@@antonyparkinson381 I'd noticed the way the file names are formed on newer pixels are different than say the pixel 2. Pixel 2: IMG_yyyyMMdd_HHmmss.jpg where the time is 24 hour time matching my location, example 4:05pm would be 1605 Newer ones: PXL_yyyyMMdd_(UTC HHmmssxxx.jpg) the UTC timing gets confusing when trying to adjust time. For my time zone it means a picture I'd take at 7:04pm would be PXL_Date_230400xxx.jpg I'll try straight copying from one device to the other previously I'd adjusted the exif as a precaution but I'd found that some of the pictures I'd copy to the pixel 2 would show up on the wrong day or hours off due to the UTC time zone difference.
I bought a brand new sealed pixel 2 xl in the middle of 2021, still have it. I stopped using it after like 6 months because I needed to.upgrade to a 5g phone and got an iPhone 13 for free. However I started using it again recently and I love it. It will probably be my favorite phone for a long time. I have a pixel 5a too and I just enjoy using this phone more. I might be a little biased because I used to have an lg v30+ and this reminds me of that phone a lot
To be fair to Google, they've supported my Pixel 2 since i purchased the device, in 2017 - in particular, the camera! It's the camera that really does credit to Google's inventiveness! To this day, it out-performs my Canon S120 compact camera, taking photo's where my Canon gives up the ghost, and `goes home' Sure, the Canon is an `older' design, but i'm pretty sure a more, modern camera, would struggle where the Pixel 2 thrives! - I know, I once took a pic' in near-darkness, with the Pixel, and was amazed that it came out as a perfectly exposed image, on its screen, with very little `noise' to speak of! Try that, with anything, save for a large-sensor DSLR!
The 12MP camera is impressive.
I agree

Pixel 2XL running on Linage OS 21 ( Android 14) lightweight, thinner, still good to me.
It's hard to install?
How's the battery life?

Thanks a lot for the nice comment!
Watching from my Pixel 2 XL, the only problem I have with it is the rear cameras have accumulated dust inside the lens itself
That's annoying. Maybe you're able to repair it, but I'm not sure

If you wanted to continue using the unlimited storage you can using resilo sync to copy photos and videos from your new phone to the pixel - works
Is meta data editing required? Also did you find the dates are off due to the newer devices naming the images differently on a different phone.
@@BrenIrwin No not at all why what's going on with yours

One of the best phones I've ever used, would love it if they made one in the size of a 13 Mini.
By far, the best smartphone I've ever had.
Broader bezels are so much nicer IMHO. I detest the present day glass metal plastic bricks.
I really like pixel phones with the camera visor
wowowow
It kind of did have a head phone jack. You had to use the dongle that came with the phone.
True, but that is still annoying to use. And the dongles break pretty fast
Watching this on my google pixel 2
