  • Today, we attempt to use a $15 Pixel 2 XL I got from Goodwill for $15. Will a 6 year old Pixel hold up, or did I waste my money like usual?

Hey so just a suggestion but your face and background is dark and may put off potential subscribers if you wanna light it up a little but not too much u can use led lights for a tech kinda feel and maybe rbg on your mouse pad or something

I use my pixel 2 xl as a second/work phone. The new swapped battery last me about 2 day, only use during work hour but yea the charging is slow. My type c port also cannot transfer data and having only 128gb without expandable storage is a pain. One good thing about the phone is the speaker. It better than newer galaxy S.

this is a lot of why I primarily use an iphone SE, home button, working power button, no intrusions i don’t care about, just phone, and you can get it for like $100

What Google said about the headphone jack may not have aged well, but boy did those Samsung "Ingenious" ads age worse.... Great vid btw! Subbed.

The battery was poor even from the start, a year later it was barely usable. On busy days or travelling I had to bring a power bank. The displays were ridiculously expensive, which was a pain when I inevitably cracked mine. I bought the phone new with about 550 USD, but a trplacement display costed 150 USD+. Last year I could still find stores selling them for 100 USD, it's crazy. Those things aside, it really is a great phone and I'm still using mine to back up unlimited photos to Google Photos. If there were a way to have two batteries on the same phone, I'd still be using mine today

It's very expensive because it's OLED, I have the same issue finding a proper Galaxy S7 screen to fix and a lot of cheap used S7 have it cracked or broken.

The original pixel had a burn in problem? I bought a used pixel xl for photo backup last year and it had absolutely zero burn in. Must've gotten lucky

I never had an original Pixel. I've just seen a lot of used models with bad burn in.

nah dont ever recommend the 6a ever again, my 6a was actually so bad, constant overheating issues causing poor performance and battery life

A lot you missed out on
First off, you should've tried the Pixel 3, it comes with a far more modern design, and fixes the wireless charging flaw.
Secondly, Pixel 3, Pixel 9/8 Pro/9 Pro, and all Galaxy S since S8 have selfie Auto-Focus, in fact iPhone 14 Pro was the first iPhone with selfie Auto-Focus.
Most importantly, you should've made this a review with custom ROMs, because Pixel 2 has LineageOS 21 (Android 14), or Pixel Experience 13 (Android 13). If it is even 100$, it is an amount you can afford to quite literally throw away if you're considering other 1000$ phones. Without such important context, the video seems bland.

Custom ROMs are kinda hard to get onto a device with a borked USB port with no data transfer.

@@magcs6233 Yup, I know, but that's like one of the most important things, it increases usability drastically.
Although yeah. I'm sure there will be nothing like returns or browsing around on such platforms 😂

If I find one for cheap I'd love to do a Pixel 3 review and try custom ROMs on it. I yearn for the notch.

In India we have import duties.
Last it was retailing in india was about 250usd . So on that account it was a okay deal .
Plus it was a box piece.

It was probably like 120usd .
      11000INR , I paid for a box piece.
Plus due to import duties , it’s slightly more expensive here in India 🇮🇳

I literally stopped using my Pixel 2XL last weekend after I picked up a Pixel 7Pro for $250 Brand new. And I was using the Pixel 2 XL because my 4XL died randomly in August.
I loved my 2XL years ago when I got it, but the battery life was trash, my use of it 2024 I had to have it plugged in constantly but overall it was pretty smooth and snappy. And my power and volume keys randomly fell out. The selfie camera was pretty useless on video calls in low light compared to the 4XL. But definitely keeping my Pixel 2XL it might come in clutch once again.

You know I've always thought the 7's buttons felt like they would fall out.
