My 10-year-old is THE BIGGEST fan of smol stationery, so she about died of happiness at this video. She thought she would have been 100% team cute, but she ended up being Team Practical more than she thought! We already own a good amount of this smol stationery, including the whole Midori XS kit which she loves! Thanks for the great videos, JetPens!
I've been watching JetPens on UA-cam for years now, but like, how is it even possible that these videos just get better and better? They were already fantastic, and yet I get so excited every time I see a new one. I'm a Stephanie stan, and I love getting to see everyone else's personalities too. Loved this tête-à-tête between Stephanie and Mr. Narrator!
Yep I have the clip ruler and that little loop area is sooo annoying . I ended up getting the folding metal ruler. Not the one in this video but one that folds out at an angle.
Yeah... The mini scissors are cute but they're basically useless for anything other than cutting very small bits of paper for a craft project or similarly delicate tasks (like a project that uses thread or thin yarn), or as emergency scissors to cut tags and loose threads. Like, I can already feel my wrist cramping from using these. I already get my wrist sore from doing crochet for too long, and my hooks have ergonomic handles; I do not need a tool that will add on to this issue.
I usually love Stephanie and Connie, but this was a blast. What a cute video idea! I'm a mix of cute practicality. However, I have to give to the final point to Narrator-san's bag. I was excited to use my big Doughnut for school, and I carried it all semester, but it couldn't fit a regular folder or binder! So I'm a little disappointed in Doughnut now 😮💨
I imagine the tiny doughnut has similar problems, to that and to micro bags. You have to kind of plan ahead with those, I think; figure out what's going to go into the bag and then choose the bag. I'm sorry the big doughnut didn't really work out for you!
@@YossDillo I have the mini size and can definitely agree with ur comments in the sense of buying it with what ur going to put in it in mind. I wanted a bag larger than a fanny pack but smaller than a full size backpack for short day trips and made sure to double check that the bag was the right size by checking the dimensions on the website before purchasing instead of relying solely on pictures. Like i knew that i wanted it to be big enough to fit my relatively large tablet so I made sure the dimensions checked and watched videos to confirm that reasonably sized water bottles and umbrellas could fit with no issue too.
Please do more showdown style videos! High end vs. budget, analog vs. tech, stationary newbie vs. expert, anything! I love the format and the banter, so fun!
I loved this video! I think I go with Stephanie's choices, the stationery is so cute, and a smol hand like mine wouldn't have troubles with any of these! We need more videos like this one!
From a utility and personal style perspective (with the exception of the notebooks)I definitely prefer the more practical style and form-factor, however I MUCH prefer the colour ways of the cute variety! Is there the awkward middle-point option? :P
Levenger pocket briefcase- fits in scrub and Jean pockets and uses index cards for filler- easy to remove use and replace, and you don’t have to think twice about passing someone a handy piece of paper. They also carry index sized planner cards and carry cute or customizable index cards.
Mostly practical, but also loving the cute Kaweco pens and mini Doughnut bags! They’ve been tempting me for a while now 😊 I already own the majority of the practical smol stationary 😂
Dear JetPens, I absolutely love your videos!! You guys inform me about the latest stationery, and the videos you make are very enjoying to watch :) Keep doing your amazing stuff, JetPens!!❤
I liked a mix of each! The small scissors is great for crafters who work with thread and yarn, because you can get them on planes and stuff like that, and they pack nicely into little sewing kit tins. I have a small scissors without a cap (the blades slide out) from Tokyu Hands, it's great! I also have a bigger pen-type scissors that does have a cap - the flexy scissor handles are plastic cord that slide in and out to conserve space. This one is more useful for cutting tape and paper. The space pen is too fancy for me and I don't see myself needing those functions, so I prefer the Kaweco. On the other hand, I love the customizeable options of the maruman binder. I have a B5 sized one and I love that I can add pockets and dividers. And as a bag lady, I love BOTH bags. (Don't care much for the rulers, I'll misplace them in a heartbeat, hah!)
OMG I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS EPISODE THANK YOU! I'm loving all the cute stuff, but damn that practical scissors (only because I like the Midori XS set in general hahaha).
No wonder it seems like backpacks are smaller in Japan. So many great skilled items to fit in compact bags for less weight (for kids) to carry. Wonderful items. Thank you for all of your hard work!
Been using almost all: into one binder, kaweco pen, stickyle scissors, lihit lab pouch. Eyeing the Minimo pen which is even tinier than kaweco, also the lihit lab refillable A7 notebook that fits in my biz card case. That’ll be the ideal note taking tools for when you don’t have much space or want to be discreet
I have 3 of the Nakabayashi Magnetic Bookmark Rulers. I love them. I keep them in my sketch books so I can kept my place and they don't take up to much space. I like a bit a both though. Sometimes cute wins sometimes practical wins.
I bought the cute scissors to add to my mini sewing kit. Like she said,it's pretty good for cutting loose thread and I can fit more eand bigger buttons inside. (The scissors that came with the initial kit took up a lot of the space by itself)
I love Kaweco Sport pens fountain pens and I bought the cute notebook in B6 size. But I am definitely team practical here. The scissors and magnetic ruler are practical and take up little space, while the carrying pouch is both functional and looks professional for work. I like my stationary functional, not too small and at least look good. Cute is a bonus!
OMG you both made my day! I love jet pens and especially love these info commercials. I actually like items from both of you so I guess I am in the middle. Love you guys!
I have to go with cute for the pen, practical for everything else. Except maybe scissors where I'm really not sure I'd get much mileage out of either pair, but since my main complaint with all my thread snips is that I hate having to deal with a cap for them I suppose I'm leaning more towards practical there, too. The Kaweco Frosted Sport loses minor points with me for not taking Parker style refills, but it does have refills available in my preferred ink (Uni Jetstream), so I can live with that for Kaweco's signature style. I love the cute little notebooks, but I have a major problem committing to using a bound notebook all the way through and often want to be able to remove notes I no longer need, so the binder takes the win because it works better with my idiosyncrasies. I do hate when a ruler doesn't start the zero at the edge, but I think I can use the magnetic one in more circumstances because it's flatter and shorter when folded.
Did I get nervous when Stephany and Mr. Narrator started fighting? Yes. Please stop fighting mom and dad, all smol stationary is great! We love you-- I mean them, all-- the same! ... Okay, time to get back to therapy. Love the mini binder and the ruler bookmark! Love you both, please never leave me, k, byeee!!!
love how silly fun this video is and informative too i was a little sleepy from lunch but the scizzors for ants part woke me up enough to get back to work thank you
I love the tiny sun star scissors. I flew through probably 8 different international airports with them and had no problem with security. Even in strict places like Singapore
I'm very much Team Practical, though I love the color choices that Team Cute has! I use both styles of notebooks. The Maruman mini-binder is great for recipes and stuff I could rearrange, but the composition style books are great for holding game notes and my A7 notebook fits perfectly in my Switch case and is great for jotting down notes about Breath of the Wild so I won't forget what's where later on!
I like a mix of both. I actually worked a couple of doors down from the Fisher Space Pen Company for a few years in the early 00's so I have a misplaced loyalty to them. But, I prefer notebooks over binders. The tiny zizzors (as my 6 year old still calls them) are a bit too tiny though I like the shorter ruler because it's more durable and lays flat!
I'm on the practical side, I like the timeless designs. the kaweco pen and the mini notebook are aesthetically pleasing to me. I wouldn't categorize them as cute, just pretty. 😅
In practice, I'm big into the practical stuff. I've been rocking the Lihit Lab as a belt pouch since 2018, and I'm loving my new Sun-Star Stickyle (Normal-size) scissors. Cute stuff is cute though~
How about this video itself being Cute AND Practical?!😁😁 Y'all stop it; it was BOTH!!! Great ideas I'll put in my JetPens cart 🛒, but I had a smile on my face the whole video from the cuteness!! (The narrator won on the Scissors ✂️😊)
Confession: I'm both. I love my goofy twiggy travel scissors and lihit lab case, but I carry it all in a herschel mini backpack with pokemon plushie keychains....
Pens: I am with the Narrator, I’m sorry Stephanie, I do not want a plastic pen in this use case. I try to go for metal pens in any chance I get. Paper: Tie, both of you have valid points. I would use the binder version if I planned on tossing the paper afterwards. Scissors: Narrator wins, I do not want to keep pinching my hand together all the time to get through a standardize piece of paper lengthwise. Rulers: I am with Stephanie on this one. A rule should not bend, especially when needing straight edges for drawing lines for functional planning. Pouches: I am going with the Narrator. I do not want to carry a fuzzy tiny backpack, especially when it is bulky and cannot be put in a backpack without taking up so much space. Also, what size phone can that thing fit. I like the pouch within a backpack option. However I have Fjallsraven bag belt/crossbody bag for that. Fits my phone and could fit a Pro Max iphone. Overall, to each their own. I would rather combine the two styles.
Team practical with a cute statement item. I liked the lihit bag so much and I appreciated the binder--I prefer binders myself. It's easier for me to work in binders than notebooks because I have the bad mentality that I'm not allowed to be imperfect in pretty or cute notebooks. But in binders! Anything I dont like, I can recycle or refile. I also preferred the practical ruler because I can't stand rulers that put 0 on the edge. Ive come across too many that have worn the edges a full mm! And I liked the practical scissors more. They're just more useful. But the cute kaweco pen would be my first choice rather than the space pen (though I use that pen for work!).
OH gosh, don't make me choose!😭 Both have their pros and cons, and each are a better option for different lifestyles! Some of the practical stuff can be made cuter by color choice and addition of stickers which is *my* personal favorite stationery, and some of the cute stuff can be more encouraging to use and more specifically fit the users needs than the more utilitarian practical options, which trend towards trying to please everyone. I tended towards the cute side, but a lot of the practical items caught my eye. For example, the cute bag is wonderful and fits my preferred aesthetic, but the practical binder appealed towards the part of me that wants to customize everything, with my actual first thought being "I could absolutely *plaster* that thing in my favorite stickers!" (Thought the acted up bickering was funny too btw 😁)
Small short binder or small notebook? Notebook as i like the small slender size. Magnetic bookmark ruler is cool but i don't really like magnet in my bag so i choose a normal 10cm ruler plastic bookmark.
it's so refreshing when you point out the flaws, from the tiny scissor, the bent ruler and the cringy voice acting 😂😂😂 still very ispiring the bag is truly the CUTEST
I'd say it's about half and half for me! I lean more towards practical but I like cute things too. Like, I'd go with the larger size Macaron bag and put the Lihit Lab bag inside it lol.
Are you team practical or team cute? Let us know in the comments!
Team practical
Team cute! Hehe
@@nuclearpancake3683 me too!!
team YES
Of course smol and cute because it's practically cute🎉
I love how the banter escalates. The personalities of the Jetpens crew are all quite endearing.
Hahaha this is great
Stephany and Mr. Narrator in one video!?!
My day has improved significantly…
I need these because presenting the pros and cons this way is pretty entertaining.
The only thing missing from this video is editor-san quietly chiming in with subtitles saying she agrees or disagrees with something
that would be so funny 😂❤
“What are these, scissors for ants?!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Practical wins on scissors and ruler, but cute reigns supreme overall!
Yep I have the clip ruler and that little loop area is sooo annoying . I ended up getting the folding metal ruler. Not the one in this video but one that folds out at an angle.
Cuter is better 😂
Yeah... The mini scissors are cute but they're basically useless for anything other than cutting very small bits of paper for a craft project or similarly delicate tasks (like a project that uses thread or thin yarn), or as emergency scissors to cut tags and loose threads.

Also my picks are practical notebook and scissors, cute ruler and carrying case. I'm gonna need both pens. 😄
Honestly the practical one are nice, but if they were in cute colors they would be perfect.
The banter in the video was adorable 😂

I found out that the Fisher Space Pen comes in a variety of colours, including Brass, Chrome, Purple, Green and Blue!

I carried a Lihit Lab Smart Fit pouch with the shoulder strap aaaaall over Nagoya when I studied abroad in Japan a few summers ago, LOVE that thing!
Mostly practical, but also loving the cute Kaweco pens and mini Doughnut bags! They’ve been tempting me for a while now 😊 I already own the majority of the practical smol stationary 😂
Dear JetPens,
I absolutely love your videos!! You guys inform me about the latest stationery, and the videos you make are very enjoying to watch :) Keep doing your amazing stuff, JetPens!!❤
This was a good format for a video, discussing pros and cons in a fun debate. Love 💗
I absolutely love the banter in this video😂
This video has such an "anything you can do, I can do better, I can do anything better than you" vibe to it - it's great 😂
when the tiny scissors came out I said "awww" out loud! I really enjoyed this video format

OMG I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS EPISODE THANK YOU! I'm loving all the cute stuff, but damn that practical scissors (only because I like the Midori XS set in general hahaha).
Some practical but mostly cute. Love the out takes at the end from Mr Narrator. Who’d have thought he had an Arnold imitation in him. Great video!
No wonder it seems like backpacks are smaller in Japan. So many great skilled items to fit in compact bags for less weight (for kids) to carry. Wonderful items. Thank you for all of your hard work!
I love "practi-cute" 🙂 (and this new video format too)
🤣This was my favorite video from jet pens. I was cracking up. Thank you you made my day.

This is the most fun video I have seen in a while. And I have gotten some great gift ideas for my daughter who still loves all things cute!
You guys are hysterical! I loved your video, but how can you make me choose?? Everything you showed in this video is amazing!
I loved the Zoolander parody! I wish we had a Jetpens in Australia 💕
the stephanie and mr. narrator banter is so cute 😭 5:22 *"what are these."*

This sounds like ad but the two employees doing said ad hate/don't like each other and I'M LOVING IT
I LIKE ALL OF THE CUTE THINGS
This is one of the best JetPens videos I've seen. Thank you.
I saw a new one for the petite gel pens. Uniball One P (Pocket), the instant I saw it on my feed it went on my list of stationary collection 😅
Really good Terminator impression there at the end! 😂
I love the magnetic ruler, but need it with inches. The tiny scissors are not only cute, but great for foreign travel. I actually love both series!
my only regret is having only two hands with which to use awesome smol supplies. too funny. too fun. best narrator wars ever.
Sorry Steph, I'm in Mr. Narrator's corner for this one.
I loved this new style of video! The bickering between the narrator and Stephanie made this a very fun watch
I bought Midori XS scissor years ago and it was the best decision.
Love the design and its function!
This is the logic part of my brain arguing with the creative side
I'm so sorry Mr Narrator but I absolutely adore those cute little guys and I NEED them!
What a creative and refreshing twist to the video! Loved it
That Doughnut bag is soooo cute 😍 And the teeny tiny little scissors!! I can't stand it!! 🥹
I have to go with cute for the pen, practical for everything else. Except maybe scissors where I'm really not sure I'd get much mileage out of either pair, but since my main complaint with all my thread snips is that I hate having to deal with a cap for them I suppose I'm leaning more towards practical there, too.

I think the space pen is actually cuter. That fluffy bag is definitely going on my wishlist, though.
the gentle banter made my day all better
I do like the scissors. Oh...the mini binder!!! Ok, I really like the Life Noble notebooks, too.
Jetpens describing what happens in my head every time i'm in the stationery shop
love how silly fun this video is
and informative too
i was a little sleepy from lunch but the scizzors for ants part woke me up enough to get back to work thank you
I love the tiny sun star scissors. I flew through probably 8 different international airports with them and had no problem with security. Even in strict places like Singapore
I love these videos - very creative way of presenting all the products😊
I'm very much Team Practical, though I love the color choices that Team Cute has! I use both styles of notebooks. Mr Narrator and Stephany progressively getting more wild and aggressive lol, I love this video
I’d take a bit from each category. The back and forth was really entertaining 😂
What a great end of the video 👏🏻👏🏻!!
I laughed so much watching this video, thanks guys. And I loved all the practical and cute things!
I love the back and forth. HILARIOUS!
Come on guys, don't fight😅 Love the banter😂
Our Girl Stephanie nailed it with the use case for the tiny scissors! Clothing tags and loose threads. Yes. Team cute, with the exception of the bag.
The Arnold Schwarzenegger impression 🤣😂
I like a mix of both. I actually worked a couple of doors down from the Fisher Space Pen Company for a few years in the early 00's so I have a misplaced loyalty to them. But, I prefer notebooks over binders. The tiny zizzors (as my 6 year old still calls them) are a bit too tiny though I like the shorter ruler because it's more durable and lays flat!
honestly, the ability to write on grease means the fisher space pen is probably perfect for writing in a restaurant/takeaway
The match-up we didn't know we needed, but we soooo did.
LMAO Mr Narrator doing funny voices made my day
also them pretending to have beef was so dang funny
I combine practical and cute by putting a Fisher D1 refill in my Kaweco ballpoint.
This video is my left brain and right brain arguing with each other.
This is probably one of my favorite videos from JetPens lol
Mr Narrator wins my heart. His choices is much better.
😍
Confession: I'm both. I love my goofy twiggy travel scissors and lihit lab case, but I carry it all in a herschel mini backpack with pokemon plushie keychains....
i am loving these personality showcasing videos. More fake arguments are so needed LOL
Practical all the way! Mr. Narrator sold me when he said EDC. Lmao. And then he showed me the pouch too?! Yup. That was great.
Love this type of video. TEAM CUTE!!!!!
PRACTICAL HANDS DOWN!!! But I like the Hightide clip ruler better
I’m with Mr. Narrator on everything except the ruler. Not sitting flat is a deal breaker.
Your going to school so practical for me, since I can actually get things done.
I like Mr. Narrator's binder but the Tiny Macaroon is my top pick forever (I'm a regular macaroon carrier)
Smol is for the ✨💖aesthetics💖✨ and sometimes that’s just what you need~
I always enjoy watching your videos, but this time I kept laughing and rewinding the snarky comments. So funny!
OH gosh, don't make me choose!😭
Both have their pros and cons, and each are a better option for different lifestyles! Narrator: "The only thing that fits in your bag is your tiny scissors."
THE SHADE
Small short binder or small notebook? Notebook as i like the small slender size. Magnetic bookmark ruler is cool but i don't really like magnet in my bag so i choose a normal 10cm ruler plastic bookmark.
it's so refreshing when you point out the flaws, from the tiny scissor, the bent ruler and the cringy voice acting 😂😂😂 still very ispiring the bag is truly the CUTEST

Lol, loved the banter! Hope to hear more. 😁
0:53 I'm sure it has a great personality 😢
