Yes kids, this is where your Christmas dinner comes from. Just don’t try and cook the plastic ones.
@@grizz23 that’s very true actually. I didn’t think of it like that.
XD
@@grizz23 When I was a kid, my grandpa had a farm, all kinds of animals, every year when Christmas was near, he would let a turkey escape and then he would hunt it down just for fun, then bring it back and make the Christmas dinner, good times
@@gabrielfelipe22217 that’s awesome
@SoKo wild turkey meat is a bit darker than store bought farm raised
Is it just me or are turkeys unintentionally hilarious?😂
Yes they can be for sure
theyre a strange creature
They remind me of a Biker Gang.
Not polite in the least to the decoy.
Benjamin Franklin actually wanted the turkey to be the official USA symbol instead of the bald eagle.
Probaby as hilarious as you would be if out in the open, without any means to protect or defend, watching members of your family gunned down around.. I hope someone make a channel about that one day.. I would pay top dollar to see it done to anybody who engages in hunting for sport, not survival..
Man the Toms are absolutely beautiful birds. Their coloration is spectacular and the way they spread their tail feather and puff up their chest is impressive.
Yes they are!
*Pulls Trigger*
Tbh I never thought those decoys would actually work to convince a turkey that it’s real
Oh yeah they work
they dumb as hell 😂
not just on Turkeys. most birds really
Birds are dumb lol.

1:56 I died laughing lmao nice one
What decoys were you using? Do you have any decoy recommendations for somebody getting into turkey hunting? I got my first-ever turkey tag this year, excited to get out.
We really like the combination of a half strut Jake and a hen. The posture of the hen isn’t so important. We have had a lot of luck with HS Jake decoys
@@canadaintheroughtv Thanks for the advice! I was looking at maybe getting the Primos little gobstopper pack, but I will definitely look into getting that Jake!
I really appreciate you guys giving those turkeys a glow stick so they can dance at the rave
Last year I started to like this hobby, thanks to watching videos like these. I'll start looking for where to practice.
Well edited!
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
Thanks!
Poor Tom, as he's sticking the decoy he gets stuck
Bro got a collateral 😂💀😭😭
Wow amazing hunting ,,good job boss,,new friend here at philippines
Great hunting! I am curious, what bipod set up do you use for your shot gun in one of the last clips?
It’s a tripod from Bog Gear

I never knew just how on site turkeys are.
They really be pulling up to a turkey they've never met and karate kicking them to the ground so they can get to fuckin'
12 gauge calibers are used with waht shot ? rifles which caliber ? i have a 12 gauge for hunting goose full choke would it be sufficient ? what slugs should i use thanks
Outstanding footage and shooting! Bring on the turkey feast!👍👌💪👏
1:55 that was friggin funny
Beginner question here.
What does the spur/claw in the back of the males mean?
It’s used in fighting and it grows with age. So the longer the spur the older the bird
@@canadaintheroughtv Gotcha. Thanks!
Man those spikes could do some serious damage! I'm just wondering though, apart from the shotguns and bows, what other equipment is used to take these guys down, some shots sounded like air rifles, I'm interested, as here in Australia we don't have turkeys in the wild and they look like a fun game to go after. Happy hunting guys!
We use shotgun, compound bows and crossbows.
I ready love this video I'm also a big time Turkey hunter
Glad to hear you enjoy it
I dearly miss turkey hunting
Top vid. And funny. Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve been looking on the internet to find out what type of rifle round is best for hunting turkeys. Im a beginner looking to get into it more. I just want one good rifle I can rely on and don’t desire to hunt other larger game. Any good recommendations?
As for ammo this is what we use for turkeys www.winchester.com/Products/Ammunition/Shotshell/Long-Beard-XR/STLB1235 as for a shotgun we love this one www.beretta.com/en-us/firearms/by-gun-family/a400-family
Hope this helped!
@@canadaintheroughtv thank you very much, my other question would be how do you feel about hunting with a rifle as opposed to a shotgun? I just feel like it would be easier to clean the meat and could have more range than a shotgun. But like I said I’m extremely new to this stuff, I don’t even know if that’s legal or what
It would depend on the laws where you hunt. A rifle is not legal for turkey hunting here. A rifle is going to damage a lot of meat unless you can hit the head
@@canadaintheroughtv salute to you ❕
@@jordan4315most everywhere you can not hunt turkey with a rifle

Which ammo caliber do you use for guns? Thanks.
We mainly use 12 gauge Beretta shotguns and the ammo changes all the time. Typically 3" #7 Winchester ammo though

I don't know about hunt at all but like, when the bird gets shot with a buckshot like 10 bullets per shot, it's still edible?
Im new to hunting and no idea where to go in bc for turkeys beside safeway lol

Bro did a backflip

Huge thanksgiving haul he havin
Question. Is it illegal to use a rifle and just hit the head (as hard as that is. I am in NY) and if not. How difficult is it to remove birdshot so your not eating it
No you are not allowed to use a rifle here in Canada. When you aim right all/most of the pellets just hit thr head and neck. When the shot is a bit low most pellets simply go right through the meat. But we take extra care when butchering to remove any still left, it's not that hard.
@@canadaintheroughtv that's cool! Thank you for the info!
50?! Daaaamn. Been hunting them for 4 years straight without killing a single one. Damn.
Keep at it, it will happen!
@@canadaintheroughtv the amount of times I've been extremely close to one is mind-boggling. As is the cool things I've seen. Definitely gonna keep trying.
@@busterdog6320 whatever you shoot them with make sure it hits hard they aren't easy to kill they'll eat an arrow laugh at a shotgun piss on a rifle I'm serious
They're tough they can eat an arrow and keep on going like they've never been hit.. shot one with a rifle went to go pick it up that thing jumped up and took off running never did find it can you believe that it's the truth it even did some death flapping stuff and got back up and took off
Always envious I can’t ever get birds to come in or gobble it’s always cricket town for me

This video makes me hungry!
Lol
The last turkey that I shot was over 30 years ago. Hunting turkeys in the fall is very restictive in this day and age. Got my first turkey in 1986. In the fall during deer season, when it was legal back then.
Any rifles used, or strictly shotguns? My reason for asking is that some shots seemed to be clean to the head, whereas others were clearly multiple shot pellets.
rifles are not legal for use on turkeys in Ontario. Has to be shotguns only
