You know as kids playing this game most of us never considered how complex the arrangements were on a lot of the nes games! Well played 👏
Let's be honest, the music written by Koji Kondo is some of the greatest video game music of all time. It was complex while also having just a few voices available.
They really did make some awesome music for a ton of those games.. absolutely love hearing people cover these tunes
I don't think it's complexity so much as it was never intended to played on a real instrument being a digitally composed and played back piece, so translating it to a real guitar results in something near impossible to play accurately.
@@cryptidproductions3160 That's not always the case

The density of your arrangements is absolutely insane. You're a beast.
This is literally how the song goes.
@@daltonrandall4348 They're talking about how this is a song "played" (it's midi) on 3 different instruments, he's playing two of them at the same time and not missing any piece of the melody or bass. It would be accurate to say that this has density because all of the pieces are assembled at the same time, neither being played before or after, but together. There's a lot of notes and he's playing just under the original tempo. (Which is quite fast for this type of playing) For guitar, this is a dense arrangement.
Quen Loust there's no question it is both impressive and dense. But it's not HIS arrangement. That is note for note how the original song is written.
@@daltonrandall4348 This would classify as an arrangement due to it being a reconceptualization of the original. In this case, it was composed onto a guitar when it wasn't originally intended. The original sheet music for Mario 2 was written on piano/keyboard and REQUIRING a rearrangement to even be feasible on guitar. Further making its case is tempo change.
For example, it's called arrangement when you have a Cello specific piece of music and you arrange it to play on a Viola. Even if the only thing to change in the outcome is pitch, it's still called an arrangement. The music would sound exactly the same, but just higher.
Arrangement is a very vague term that can be fit into a LOT of music.
Quen Loust No, those are called transcriptions. An "E" is an "E" whether you play it on a piano or a cello. Simply writing down the notes of the original song and then playing them on a different instrument is not "arranging." It's just transcribing. An arrangement is when you add parts, make modifications to the original tune that didn't exist, or some other kind of reconceptualization. This is just verbatim regurgitation.
This is insanely skillful. This song is hard enough to play on the piano and I would have guessed basically impossible on the guitar.
The look on his face after he pulls it off like "holy shit I can't believe it"
Naaah... I think I'm good.

I can't tell you how many times I've hummed and sung this song while walking out around town. It's just so joyous and uplifting.
