- Star Wars the Bad Batch Season 1 Episode 15, RETURN TO KAMINO has finally been released, beginning the two part finale to the series, and giving us a glimpse into the future of the Clones.. The episode is packed full of incredible moments with massive consequences on the galaxy, So, lets break down everything that went down in the episode, and what might go down as we move into the finale .

RIP Kamino, Kamino was destroyed in a horrific orbital bombardment by Rampart and Tarkin.
So the episode begins back inside of a dark prison cell on ship racing to Kamino, where the captured Hunter has been transferred to after his capture on Daro. Crosshair wants to lure the rest of the bad Batch to Kamino using Hunter’s comms device, in order to setup a huge standoff.
Back on Ord Mantell with the remaining Bad Batch members, Echo is working on repairing the ship, but Omega is getting extremely impatient and is worried about Hunter's safety. Things quickly change when the Batch get a message from Hunter’s comm unit, making them rush over to Kamino. And we also learn that Gregor is still with the Batch at this time, but has been left with Cid while they rush to Kamino to rescue hunter.
Arriving on the dark, rainy world, we are immediately met with a huge imperial blockade of the planet, clearly preparing for something major.
Immediately after landing with the imprisoned Hunter, Admiral Rampart greets Hunter and lets him know that his antics on Ryloth gained some significant imperial attention, before leaving Crosshair in charge of the situation. But before the rest of the Elite Squad walk off, one of It’s members voices her concern to Rampart about Crosshair’s true motives and warns her to keep an eye on him…
As the Bad Batch crew arrive on Kamino themselves, Omega informs the rest of them about a massive, hidden platform, deep beneath the water, which is very difficult to activate normally. Luckily, Tech’s piloting skills get the Job done. - Розваги

The scene where they show different rooms completely empty was heartbreaking. Also seeing venator cruisers used by an imperial admiral to destroy the city was also awful. You just want to tell “how dare you stand where Kenobi once stood.” Or is that just me lol

I got emotional on that scene as well. I just rewatched The Clone Wars and I remembered ao many moments in Tipoca City

I think we can all agree, seeing crosshairs pull his old wall ricochet technique then straight into the squad fighting together again was THE MOST AMAZING thing watch this whole episode

Crosshair's emotional talk with hunter and the bois makes him my favourite clone. It basically showed me that just because you're ln the bad side doesn't mean you're bad.

I think crosshair wants to be with the empire because it gives him purpose regardless of what he’s doing. He doesn’t want to run away from his life
@@jacobspodek4099 i think he joined the empire due to the chip, but stayed in the empire due to his emotions, those relating to his original squad, n him feeling betrayed at the fact that they didnt save him, im sure like u said he was trying to find meaning, but at the same time im sure he had hope his squad would save him or join him so they could b together again
@@obi-wan-kenobi2393 The moral is that, in the words of Luke, ‘no one’s ever really gone’. A concept in the prequels, originals, and sequels. That moral is not only for the characters, but for the concept of hope too, symbolized in the binary sunsets in all three trilogies.
Also, ngl, I’d like to see a Star Wars story that’s more cynical. Not with NGE-level cynicism, but just enough to show that even in a fictional galaxy, reality is often disappointing.
Except, that the empire aren't the bad guys. The bad guys are the rebels, trying to destroy rule and order in the galaxy.
I hope AZ-3 joins the Bad Batch now. Maybe he can be friends with Gonky

Crosshair was clutching his head in pain. I’m guessing he was lying about the chip
also got a nice nasty scar over his head.
I think the scar is trying to tell us that when he got burned he then ripped it out of his head because there is a big oval marking in the scar

Another easter egg that I think I spotted was that when they are going through the underwater tube you can hear a noise that sounds a lot like the monster-verse Godzilla charging up his beam.

That wouldn't make sense. Clones can't refuse orders when under the chips influence and that's what Crosshair did this episode. If they are going to change this down the line they need a damn good explanation or the clones turning on the Jedi would make no sense.
@@Arigost I feel it worked initially with the order 66 like opening a dam, but as time goes on the clones gain more control after the dam(the order) drains/wear off. Thus causing more clone free thought and rebellion ie (howzer and his brothers) and that’s why they want to replace the clones with stormtroopers. The empire can’t have morally correct soldiers questioning orders/rebellion.
It’s odd, but I like that we have to wait for the episodes weekly again. Not only is it a turn from the more rapid view ability that is common with streaming services, but it actually feels like I’m back watching Cartoon Network each week. It just feels right.

Absolutely! It creates a shared experience with the fans and allows each episode to carry more weight, even ones that aren't as important to the story. You don't get that when you binge the whole thing at once.

Yea I was surprised those clone deck hands didn’t disobey the order or at least hesitate when bombarding the city. After all, that was their only home but I guess the inhibitor chips did all the thinking for them

It’s actually a very neat way of showing that while some clones like Howzer and Gregor are questioning the legitimacy of the Empire’s intentions, some clones are still willing to follow them regardless
All in all, this episode was fire, however, my heart dropped when that CLONE OFFICER spoke to Admiral Rampart about letting the barrage open to Tipoca city, yeah, a CLONE, the ones who were defending their homeland from droids and Ventress r now letting it get destroyed

I like how crosshair tell hunter that they don’t leave own almost all the time which shows how heartbroken deep down that never tried to save him after order 66
One detail I notice in the lab, there are more pods than members of the bad batch, and echo was not modified there, and they are on some kind of conveyers system meaning they could be a rather large number of pods. I wonders if they are more modified clones out there.

Those last few ambient shots of Kamino were so beautiful! It truly was a fitting end for the city.
I have a bunch of theories to unload here:
1. The Bad Batch were cloned from Omega. I understood Omega's line in this episode to mean that she watched the Bad Batch grow in those tubes. How do i explain it; Omega is Bobba's genetic sister. And like Bobba, she was not given growth accelerant hormones. She aged at a normal pace as a back up plan. But the Kaminoans saw at an early age that Omega had a specialized skill/power, and experimented on her to reproduce more specialized soldiers. The result of the experiments were Bad Batch. Essentially she is their mother, this would explain Hunters familiarity with her, and Omega's excitement of seeing them in the 1st episode.
2. My wildcard thoery, if true that Omega having a specialized skill, and the fact she is Bobba's 1st gen genetic sister could mean Boba has a specialized skill too. Perhaps one that helped him survive the Sarlacc Pit. Like I said WIldcard.
Crosshair emotional speech to hunter is actually depressing but at the same time though very interesting.

Well George Lucas himself never liked Starkiller much anyway so no way they’ll make him canon….but I was hoping for a Kamino uprising..in KAMINO
But the assault on Kamino in TFU 2 took place on Timira City, not Tipoca city

The team is together again. but it's sad to see all the clones decommissioned and kamino destroyed, but it also gave us hope for crosshair since they saved him (from being killed). Hopefully next week we can them escape kamino alive.

Bro I watched this episode the second it came out and didn’t read the tittle so when the empire destroyed the kamino cloning facilities I thought that was the last episode and thought they had all just died and ended up crying lmao before I saw the tittle say finale part 1😂
Everyone myself included knew something bad was gonna go down when they arrived at kamino and the venators are pointed at the planet
Ships don’t simply point the guns at the thing they are supposed to be protecting
I absolutely love how when Crosshair helps his old squad defeat the training droids the Bad Batch theme went from sorta quiet to very loud cause for that brief moment the squad was back
this summer, I had a camp counselor that sounded so close to the AZ droids

Crosshair is probably one of my favorite clones. I’m so glad we finally got his perspective and I can’t wait for part 2. I will say though that I was hoping to get a clone rebellion
If Crosshair still has his chip that was turned up to 11 maybe it caused a flaw or his personality caused a deviation where although he is following orders he is following them in his own way. He seems ultra loyal to the Empire but killed his own soldiers, his "eliminate the bad batch" could be turn them to the empire's side in his way
Just like earlier Crosshair killed his own soldiers after they disobeyed direct orders. That could be part of his higher level of loyalty.

I think everyone forgot crosshair was always a smug jerk and had a elitist attitude at least imo. Maybe that truly is his legitimate feelings and personality. Especially being a unique genetically modified clone.

I loved how when Hunter wasn’t there to lead the team, Echo was the one making the commands and taking point. It was great to see him showcasing his natural leader traits, his brains, and his knowledge of battle tactics again! (For those who may not know just how smart Echo is when it comes to war, him and Rex created the battle tactics for the 501st along with nearly the entire clone army. TCW s7ep1 I believe)
I call BS on the Crosshair removing his chip...I think one of 3 things is happening
1. Crosshair is lying
2. When Crosshair was burn the chip melded with his brain
3. Due to the effects of the amplification of chip it had a more permanent effect on his mind so when he did remove it he believes it was all his actions.
I think it will be unremovable and merged with his brain. This could be a major plot point in season 2, and hunter could have a line he says to omega "and when the time comes, I'll pull the trigger" talking about when he goes into order 66 mode

Like it is there but it shouldn't be there because it isn't a naturally growing thing if I am correct (which speculative at best) the old Venator-class star destroyers ion engine that burned crosshair technically put him through intensive radiation therapy therefore destroying the chip.
This episode remind me of how much i miss these open space battles. Just the roar of that turbolaser made me like a little boy again. one of the better episodes. it kinda made me sad to see clones fire on the only real place they can call home
The distruction of Kamino is one of the strongest messages of this is truly the end of the clone wars
Honestly, yes I was a little disappointed with War-Mantle. But....this episode. This was TRUE Star Wars. Every moment gave me a feeling I haven't felt since the Mando S2 Finale. But geez, wow.

@@mesacake This was over the period of months. And there are still clones, this episode started that all clones on kamino were reassigned elsewhere. It's not like they were all phased out at once.

This episode definitely makes Canon and Legends parallel universes. The events in this episode show the Empire being smart enough to realize that the Kaminoans could plot against the Empire so the Empire shuts down the cloning facilities on Kamino, detains all of the scientists, and relocates the clones elsewhere. There may still be an opportunity for a clone rebellion which could be lead by Rex or the Bad Batch. Whereas in Legends, the Empire did not shut down the Kaminoan cloning facilities, allowing dissident Kaminoan scientists to create a clone army loyal to Kamino. I like the differences and hopefully the Old Republic/Sith Empire era may be explored since similar events take place in both Legends and Canon with Legends having the most fleshed out and beloved story for this era.
I have a feeling that when or if rex starts a clone rebellion, it will fail dramatically. This is why he will go into hiding with Gregor and wolffe (which will be the only two that survive along with himself)
Like the way Tarkin talks with a way of authority, “Very good Admiral. You may fire when ready.”
Somehow the events of the last two episodes makes you root for the kaminoeans to have some sort of secret military and navy to defend themselves and kick the empire in the balls. But thats not the case, the kaminoeans were too confident in the need of the empire to have clones, that they never bothered to make any military for themselves.
We know from episode 1 "Aftermath" that Rampart had Crosshair's chip enhanced even stronger. so that can't be true that it's removed. But if Rampart told Crosshair it was removed, then as far as Crosshair is concerned he'd be repeating what he thinks is the truth. He might honestly not know it's a lie. These are his batch brothers he grew up with, so it makes sense he would have feelings about being left behind.
This is EXACTLY what I thought would happen with Crosshair. Anything else would have been cliche. People agree and join the Empire willingly all the time. Crosshair can choose to allign himself with its ideology the same as anyone else. He is not lying about his chip being removed, that would be dumb.
Loving hearing episode 2 theme from the movie and it’s really sad to see everything destroyed

My theory is crosshairs inhibitor chip was destroyed on that destroyed ship that the bad batch activated the engine on

The silent shots of the rooms in the clone facility gave me chills. People first saw this in Attack of the Clones in 2002 and fast forwards 7-8 years later, we see it again in many arcs of the Clone Wars Series
I think Crosshair's chip might have been removed as early as episode 3. He had a procedure with Nala Se saying he's behaving "quite favorably." Tarkin's comment hoping he'd "stay that way" couldn't have been from just another chip amplifying surgery. Crosshair's chip was removed to see if he remained loyal to the Empire.
Almost everyone's missed the best bit in the lab. Re watch it. Omega said she was there in the lab when Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair and Tech were created. She is their big sister! She's 12 they are only 8 to 10 years old! Their accelerated maturation is probably x3 not x2. She has no acceleration so may be even older than Rex. She is not fan girling on clone force 99 back in EP1. They are her baby brothers. She maybe even clone generation zero.

I bet he had it removed when was in the medical center. He makes it sound like, a long time ago, when we saw tarkin enhance the chip just a few episodes earlier. The shots of the empty rooms was a fantastic way to show closure.

I think it's really important that they showed us 1 ES person escaped, I think the girl. They are probably going to use this as a plot point in season 2 where she will probably hunt down the batch and maybe crosshair for his killing the rest of the ES squad (Rip flamethrower guy that wrecker threw a proton bomb at in the venator.)
The flamethrower woman had a really annoying voice. Also, it looks like they recruited new members.
Does anyone else notice some of the sound effects from Force Unleashed in this ep??
towards the end when they showed glimpses of Kamino's common rooms, I started to cry a bit. I honestly never expected the Empire to destroy the facility. What's worse is that clones themselves had were piloting the cruisers and were forced to destroy their home. To think we got introduced to the Domino squad in Kamino first. At least the bad batch have reunited and they saved AZI as well. I really think the chip is still in Cross-Hair's head. By the empire lying to him, this will make him feel like everything he is doing is through free will, therefore securing his loyalty

The scene where the Batch are running out, as we see the barracks room, mess hall, cloning chambers with the music was really sad. The helmet at the end of season 7 was the coffin, but this scene felt like the final nail in the coffin.

I fully agree, there's more to this chip in Crosshair situation. I don't think it's out. Why would the Empire do that after Howser? I think Crosshair is confused and delusional. There are tons of scenes with him ruminating after the Batch get away. Is the delusional confusion an effect/side-effect of the chip? Did the ion blast merely make it malfunction and put him in a mental limbo?
I love the way Omega has reinforced group unity and cohesion time and again. The droids may have made it harder for them to get out alive but it united them momentarily with Crosshair and gave them the distraction needed to stun him. Another favorite scene of mine was when she looked for the lost Lula in the beginning. Wrecker was distraught and this helped group cohesion by calling him down again.
I have a feeling Omega will pull a Fives and fly out to the shuttle on AZ and since she can fly it then pick up the Batch floating in the wreckage.

This episode was 100 × more emotional than the sequels.
Sequels are emotional, just in the wrong places for the wrong reason making it cringe.
@@annuitcptis1447 Agreed. Should of had much more emotion when Rey was discovered to be a Palpatine but even that was boring. Also the ending of TROS was the least emotional star wars piece written because the good guys win with no casualties except Kylo Ren.
I probably shouldn't of cried watching that city go. 15 years of my life that city made the best characters in the cw and bb.

Edit: It's Crazy to think that technically Omega is older than all the clones of the Batch, she even said she was there when they were being enhanced.
I like how this season was more focused onto the introduction and not the actual action, in the way it was more of a story, and yet it wasn’t boring at all, unlike rebels🙄…
Finale gave me goosebumps, seeing Kamino’s destruction was painful to watch, but still I love how Rampart appeared as a true ruthless villain, which made him one of the best villains of the show.
As for Crosshair, he kinda redeemed himself in some way. He may not have switched the side, but he grew in my eyes as a villain and a character overall, and is definitely one of my favourite star wars characters. Hope we get more of him in season 2.
Oh man, we're finally here Part 1 of the Finale of the Bad Batch. We finally get to return on the planet of Kamino, more emotional scenes of Hunter and Crosshair (but unsure if Crosshair is lying or telling the truth) plus the return of AZ-3 who was hiding in Nala Se's secret laboratory.
Can't wait for the Season 1 finale and the outcome of all of this.
Crosshair isn't wrong about being left behind but he did attack them. Also, Crosshair is lying. He doesn't have a scar.
If he got it out prior to getting his burns, the scarring from the burns would likely cover up the scar from his chip.
When the droids died they also made the same sounds as the purge troopers did from the force unleashed when they died.

If the kamino uprising would happen on a diffrent planet, then technically, the sentence in star wars battlefront 2 from 2005 that said "officially, there never was an uprising on kamino" would have more meaning at this point

The elite trooper who escaped turns out NOT to be Iden Versio because of age, but she could be the death trooper leader from Rebels "In the Name of the Rebellion" episode.
Damn I was really hoping for kamino vs the empire all the clones vs the stormtroopers
If you watch crosshair in the clone wars episode you see he has not changed at all and does not need an implant to make him do order 66. if yo saw the second clone wars episode they were in you also will have spotted the mirror tags early and knew the trick shot was coming. This also means the Nala Se faked the chip repairs in from of Tarkin in episode 1. Crosshair and the bad batch were Nala se's wild card from early on.
While we know Season 2 is happening, it doesn't mean the whole squad will be able to escape Kamino. Maybe at least one of them will be killed 🤷

I mean, in Legends he died when the rebels assaulted Kamino, so this means he is still alive and possibly lives up to the New Republic
Crosshair still has his chip, i think by some of his dialogue & actions compared to previous action he has done, i think he was partly manipulate the chip in a way to give a chance to be rescued. I think the damage from the ION engine to his head is what allowed him to gain some control over the chip, but the chip is still has the edge after it was enhanced.
I think part of the Kamino base will survive under water(after all, they are on a water planet, so contingencies)& Seeing how AZ is the same droid who removed Fives chip & they will have access to the equipment at the base, they will be able to remove Crosshairs chip.

If I was the batch I would keep a eye on cross hair unless he decides to make a point of finding the Admiral for leaving and trying to kill him then that would be interesting to watch
