Bad Batch Just Uncovered Palpatine’s Secret Cloning Outpost, Mount Tantiss (WAYLAND) - SW Theory

- With the release of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Season 1 Episode 16 “Kamino Lost”, the finale of the show, we got a major look at the future of Nala Se, and the ominous plans that the empire have for her after the age of the Clone Troopers. After snatching Nala Se however, she was taken to a mysterious facility, recessed deep within the mountain ranges, which actually may have some huge Connection to one of Palpatine’s secret storehouses along with his cloning plans, and even Grand Admiral Thrawn. So, lets break down the story of Mount Tantiss, on the planet Wayland, and how it will probably connect to the Mandalorian, Bad Batch and heaps more.

So as the finale of the Bad Batch comes to and end, we see Nale Se being escorted off of an imperial shuttle by a Squad of Clone Commandos, on a lush, mountainous planet with imperial facilities taking up space in almost every mountain face. As Nala Se steps off, she is greeted by an imperial operative who immediately tells her that they are very impressed with her scientific talents, as well as menacingly telling her that the Empire have big things planned for her. Now this is obviously referring to her cloning skills, which Palpatine is very, very interested in at this time, in order to further his quest for immortality, along with the obvious connections to snoke. If you compare the look of this planet to Wayland in the comics, you can easily see the similarities, on top of the fact that it also housed a top secret cloning facility for Palpatine, deep inside the mountains. So with Nala Se being brought here, its pretty clear that the reason is to assist in future Cloning projects.
To further back up that this is actually a cloning installation, is the fact that this Imperial Operative has the patch of the Imperial Cloners on her arm. This is the exact same patch that you can see on the the young Clone Troopers in Attack of the Clones, as well as Doctor Pershing in the Mandalorian, who we already know is heavily involved in cloning, midichlorian science and pretty much everything to do with the creation of new life. On top of that, the entire rest of the uniform is pretty much identical. To be honest, I wouldn’t even be surprised if this Character’s model has been based off someone that Dave Filloni and Jon Favreau have already cast for the Mandalorian Season 3, and will have some connections with that.
So this right here pretty much confirms that the facility Nala Se was just taken to is involved in Cloning and exotic sciences. Now another place that had deep ties to cloning and Palpatine was the planet Wayland from the Thrawn Trilogy. So although it was introduced in the old EU, Wayland has actually been brought back into the new Canon through the Vader Immortal VR games, which you can see on screen now. In the game you can view different HOlograms of some of the Galaxy’s planets, and when you view Wayland, you are specifically told that Emperor Palpatine has storehouses of treasure and other exotic goods on the planet, meaning they definitely have been thinking about these connections for a while. - Розваги

I know the grey marked commandos at the facility are likely in reference to the kamino security division, but there are some similar markings on palatine's personal lambda shuttle in Return of the Jedi which might be a cool connection

That also means, as some of Us have suspected, that The Bad Batch is part of The Mandalorian Saga, and it will be planting the narrative, lore, and world-building seeds that will bloom and flourish in the story taking place 28 years in the future. I'm not such a big fan of the new shows connecting to the sequels, but who knows. Maybe Filoni can somehow manage to make the sequels make more sense

I hope we get a tie-in with the Republic Commando game/book series characters. It seems like a perfect opportunity with their hunt for Kaminoans to stop the rapid aging process to link up with the Bad Batch. We also still don't know what happened to Sev so we could get an answer to that. Then seeing them live action in the Mandalorian with him running into their little Skirata clone sanctuary would be fucking sweet but that's a little less likely than a team up with these guys.
Omg connecting this to Thrawn and Wayland with Mount Tanntis and his secret cloning facility in the Thrawn Trilogy. If there really aiming for this in season 2 of the BB. This could be the start a new sequel trilogy, where thrawn is the main villain, Ahsoka, Luke, Grogu, and Din Jaren could all team up to fight thrawn and the imperial remnants.
The sequel trilogy as we know it now could take place in an alternate timeline where Ahsoka died to Vader in that Elise of rebels, but the new sequel trilogy is in the timeline where she survived.
That second part is not going to happen. The sequel trilogy will remain canon.
However I can definitely see the first part happening. There is a 25 year gap between The Mandalorian and the sequels. I’m sure we’ll have the team up against Thrawn in that time period.
That’s be cool, though I’d like to see a much better depiction of Thrawn, like even with the plot armored heroes rather still wins kinda thing, and forces the New Republic to come to the table.
I want Thrawn not to be a villain but if they want to, I want him to go all out like how he is in the books.

Personally I would rather have the Yuuzhon Vong as antagonists this time around. I’m tired of the empire being the center of everything when it comes to storytelling in Star Wars since it’s gotten soo old and predictable at this point.

I don't mind Palp's lores but I'm tired of every show has to set up for EP9. It'll be a while until we can get past that failed sequel. I hope there's an alternative route (the Rebels road) where Thrawn is the final boss instead of focusing on Palp.

I straight up SCREAMED when I saw Mt. Tantiss. I read the Zahn trilogy when it came out in the 90s as an 6th grader and absolutely devoured anything Star Wars EU from that point on, and to see at least a piece of that in the show, along with knowing Thrawn is coming to the live action, I'm just so happy. Filoni and Favreau need to just have permanent full control of Star Wars at this point (and if they brought in Zahn in some capacity, I'd explode).
Last thing I want them to clone is General Grievous I still want this guy in action again.
They could still bring Back NK Necrosis from Star Wars legends. He was a robot that reused Grievous body after he died.

This sounds more like they are headed toward the Heir to the Empire series of books with introducing Wayland, it could be very interesting if that is the path they are taking with the live action series.
@StarForceOne I had no idea about the history of Mount Tantiss, Wayland the involvement of Thrawn. The pieces of the puzzle will all fit together on the underlying theme of cloning. I suspect that Moff Gideon may be working for Thrawn, hence capturing Grogu to provide the source for possible super cloned armies? I have read other comments that Dr. Pershing may be the son of the female scientist shown at the end of the BB.

Okay so at the final moments of the Bad Batch the girl said that The Empire have big plans for Nala Se.I thought of something big.Maybe the project Nala Se's tasked with is to clone The zilo beast,literally a big creature and its an important and big project for the Empire.Maybe in season 2 we could have Nala Se controlling the zilo beast clone to wreck havoc on The Empire.Perhaps Vader would be sent to kill The zilo beast clone in season 2 of The Bad Batch.

I hope all this stuff isn't a bunch of Palpatine clones, because that pretty much just retcons ROTJ. It would be nicer if Palpatine was never able to clone himself before his death. So, when Thrawn discovers the facilities after the Civil War, he could clone himself the army with his templates. Maybe this would mean they are trying to erase the sequels.

I believe that Commander Thire is possible become main antagonist in Bad batch season 2, because he was loyal to Palpatine and The empire along with his squad Rys. This is where Palpatine's stonehouse at the end of Bad batch season 1.
Why would 1 corusant guard be the main villain my guess for the villains are
1. Delta Squad
2. Commander Cody
3. Admiral rampart

Just saying, Crosshair definitely still has his inhibitor chip in his head. In the final episode, he clutched his head the same way he did in the first episode right before the chip forced him to try and kill the squad.

@@neofulcrum5013 Death Troopers are genetically modified, but not to the level of Clones. At one point some Moffs probably wanted more funding to mass produce Death troopers but was denied.
I really don't think this is building to Palpatine's clone. I don't think that's the story they want to tell. I believe the empire is trying to create a force sensitive army that Thrawn will use in the Mandalorian.
It's not the official finale of the Bad Batch so I don't know why people just say finale because that makes it sound like that's the end of the Bad Batch. It's just the SEASON finale. Season 2 is rumored to come out next year sometime

If Palpatine was able to clone itself, it completely shits on Anakin' prophesy in the first and second trilogies... Feels like Disney is just taking a piss on George Lucas' story.
For ppl trying to say that Filoni could make the Sequels as good as the prequels, here's the problem... The sequels have waaaayyyyy too many contradictions and plot holes in their lore and storylines. And this is because off... *drum roll*
STORY PLANNING
The prequels had a consistent plot, lore and story with the original movies, people just DIDNT LIKE IT. There is so many holes within holes in the sequel trilogy that there is nothing you could do to fix that. So again, if Disney wants to keep going with these movies, they need to either, IGNORE it's sequel trilogy, UNDO the sequel trilogy, ATTEMPT to FIX the sequel trilogy, or (which is one I prefer) MAKE IT A PARALLEL UNIVERSE, that way sequel fans still have their story and the original story fans are happier with a better canon story!

The terrible thing is that all this awesome epic build up they are going back in time to write for the cloning stuff is just going to inevitably lead to snoke lamely and anticlimactically getting chopped in half in his chair like an idiot, and palpatine spending decades to create a final order than dies lamely and anticlimactically in a couple hours after it debuts. Like all these decades of research and stuff just to lead up to 2 lame idiots dying easily. What a waste. Hopefully they rewrite the sequels.
They won't rewrite the prequels. And I don't think that their deaths were lame. Snoke wasn't important. Kylo Ren was.
