- ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDENS IN BRITAIN// Last weekend, we returned to one of our favourite gardens in the UK: Bodnant Garden in North Wales! It's described as one of the most beautiful gardens in Britain and rightly so!! No matter the season, this huge garden is so dreamy and romantic and you should definitely put it on your list, should you plan a garden tour around the UK. We promise you will love it!!
Bodnant Garden was also used as a filming location for the 2020 version of 'The Secret Garden'. It was the first time it had been used as a film set but the idyllic valley and the running stream that's surrounded by the most beautiful flowers couldn't be more perfect. Kirsten & Joerg xx

I was just about to sit down for my lunch and I said, " ok Kirsten and Joerg should be posting a video" and wouldn't you know this was just posted. My goodness, my goodness, my goodness, how can places be so beautiful. This was spectacular. The Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camellias, Bluebells and all the others as well as the trees were absolutely gorgeous. I had no idea you guys had pine trees too. Your fish and chips looked so delicious. I feel that the different seasons and many varied weather that can happen from day to day in Britain make it even more beautiful. My Mum and Dad live by the coast in Kent and everytime we walk along the beach it looks different; almost like seeing some new beauty that's revealed in the landscape with the changing weather. We have been visiting Bodnant garden in early May every year for about the last twenty years - it is specifically the reason we go to Wales at that time every year and it is the one thing we do / we go to, no matter what else we do while we are there. When we originally started going the peak Rhododendron week was roughly centred on the second full week in May. In 2023 we visited in our usual week only to find that the peak of Rhododendron bloom was almost over - so this year (2024) we shifted our visit to one week earlier, the first full week in May, and found it closer to our expectations - so we will be visiting a week earlier, in the first week of May, from now on. I should also state that, with one exception, the Rhododendrons and Azaleas are the main reason to visit this garden and if you visit the garden at any other time outside the relatively short Rhododendron season, large areas of the garden are just a pleasant green park - the exception is the peak flowering time of the famous Laburnum arch which flowers late May to early June - Bodnant is by no means the only British garden with a Laburnum arch or tunnel but it definitely has the most magnificent example.
