- JANE AUSTEN ROAD TRIP 2: PRIDE & PREJUDICE SPECIAL - This is where Mr Darcy proposed to Lizzy// Welcome back to our channel, We are so excited to share the place where Mr Darcy proposed to Elizabeth Bennet for the first time! Teigh Old Rectory was the home of Mr Collins & Charlotte Lucas and used as Hunsford Parsonage in the Pride & Prejudice adaptation by the BBC in 1995. It's a beautiful rectory in a small and romantic hamlet. Now a lovely Bed & Breakfast, you can stay there for the night and if you love Jane Austen, you will adore this place. The original wallpaper from the mini series is still to be found in the drawing room. A wonderful and unique experience which we will never forget!
On the morning we checked out, we made our way to Belton House, a beautiful National Trust property that was used as Rosings in the 1995 adaption. Really worth seeing! We hope you like our Jane Austen road trip! Kirsten & Joerg xx

Gosh guys I didn’t think I could love your channel more, but this time you have me over the moon 🌙. My favorite movie and the best script and actors brought to life in the homes and gardens. I felt like I was exploring CdB’s beautiful lane. I loved seeing Kirsten walk the green lane, almost surreal. Hey guys, you must now have a puppy (or sheep) in every video!! Yes they always sounded polite in the movie but there language could be very cutting. Politely passive aggressive 🤣🤣🤣 no swaer words. The tone of voice barely changing staying polite and calm at all times. I guess that is why they could be do cutting to release tension in the oh do politess of ways!
My favorite scene, where he proposes to Lizzy for the first time...this is where he really starts to think about his behavior. So wonderful that you refer to the scenes. Glad I got to see this. thank you…and yes, he is the one and only mr. Darcy

So interesting and beautiful. Everything looks exactly like it should. Perhaps a few things have changed but not so much really. You both have brought this to life for us and especially for anyone who has not read or had seen 'Pride And Prejudice'!
You and Joerg fit in like it were truly your own home! You both were so very comfortable there. Thank you for another lovely view of this home and the dramatic life of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet.. This has been a very exciting Jane Austen road trip online with both of you. I know there is much more to be seen and it certainly cannot all be covered, here, but you have done a fine job giving us enough to know it is a grand place for anyone who can, to take advantage of the time to see it all.
This is by far my favorite Jane Austen adaptation, must have watched it dozens of times but still shout out "Say yes, Lizzie!! " when he proposes! Thank you for showing us all the bits that are in the program and how they look now! Absolutely love your videos and this one is a gem, just want to book myself in to Hunsford Parsonage now! Love Mr Collins David Bamber is hilarious!! 💕
I have watched it about 100 times and counting. Just love the 1995 version. Wish they made another PP in follow up to Lizzi and Darcey wedding on. I know Jane Austen did not write further but hey we can all imagine.
Enjoyed this immensely. Still amazed at all these beautiful homes you visit. The little dog’s name should be Scruffy. So cute. Happy travels to Scotland. I read this week that Judi Dench does not like to be referred to as a national treasure. I am guilty of this. Uh Oh on me.🤪

It is the week's joy to be with you again and follow you in the footsteps of the characters of Jane Austen .I even framed Jane Austen's prayer(from a previous visit in the church ).The Colin Firth version is indeed the best. I am grateful for having the opportunity to see the house interiors and the lovely park. Ans so is your dress ! Keep my fingers crossed for you to have nice Scottish weather !
After last week's vlog I went straight to net flix to watch pride and prejudice it was my third time seeing it.Thank you yet again for a lovely vlog.

This experience for you both was memorable and we enjoyed the experience also through you, to imagine yourself living back in that time. The scenery was beautiful and the little dog PiP was so sweet. I will have to watch the 1995 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice to experience it for myself what an experience it was.

They just knew the right way to live. It makes it really hard to realize that modern times are so much different. I have to schedule my time leap back to Jane Austen ....

I have just finished reading The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow, written in the style of Jane Austin and a fictional story, intertwined with Pride and Prejudice, about Mary Bennet. It was wonderful. I read it with delight and now to find your video, taking me back to scenes from the BBC adaptation....I feel utterly spoiled. Thank you for this gem.

As a amiture historian I enjoy the 18th century home's you visit and like the way you and Joerg add the historical content. I've practically worn out my DVD watching Pride and Prejudice countless times over the years. It's my absolute favorite and the only version I will watch. I love it so much. This house is literally my dream house! It must have been so surreal to be there. Thank you so much for showing it to us!
