I’m a widow now seven years, but watching you two together reminds me so much of when I would bring in a tea tray for my husband. It was one of his favorite things. Because of the hours he worked, we had our tea tray in the living room in the evenings. Not every night but it would be a spontaneous surprise for him. We usually had cookies instead of cake, as I was quite the cookie maker in those days. It’s late now, but I think I’m going to have a cup of decaf tea and rewatch your video.
How cool it must be to know people all over the world feel like you guys are family. You just beam positivity and caring. And don't get me started on the comment community... Best anywhere! I see you guys smiling! 💕
My husband did doctoral research in Germany and his German advisor had us over for "Coffee" one day. We had STRONG coffee, at least 2 cakes, several candies, pastry, cookies...well you get the way this is going. His advisor said to us at this coffee, "The British don't know how to drive, they can't speak English and they don't know how to make tea! " He was a. Character! Today when I do a Tea or Coffee it is blended between England and Germany. Thanks for a lovely video.
How lovely 😊. I've been away for a while and haven't seen you guys at all. Jorge, )please forgive me if no got your name wrong) this is the most I've ever heard you talk! I began watching your channel more than a year ago, and it seemed you were almost painfully shy. You barely uttered a peep! I'm glad to see you've decided to change that a bit. You two've always been good company for me, and now it's all the more fun to watch. You two are just lovely. I so enjoy your shows. Thank you for your hard work and persistence.
My grandmother, who lived in Birmingham all her life, had a saying about the proper making of tea, and I share it with you here: "Unless the kettle boiling be, Filling the teapot spoils the tea." Glad to see you used boiling water to make yours! Fun video!
I love tea and tea parties! I now live in Sweden where everyone drinks coffee a hundred times a day! I'm now going to start drinking tea, like you, every afternoon....with cake! Thank you for sharing!
Hallo Kirsten, Hallo Joerg, i came across your channel by accident. I am so happy about this because it is such a pleasure to watch you in these difficult times. Thanks for nice moments.
I grew up with the powdered tea. Decades ago, I was watching Martha Stewart and she had a man from Special Teas on and I decided to order some loose leaf tea. When it arrived I took it to my mom's and made some tea sandwiches etc. for our family's Sunday get together. When I opened that package and the amazing perfume hit my nose I teared up and I said, "All the wasted years!" True story. I've been hooked on loose leaf ever since. That was 20+ years ago!💕
I miss seeing you twice a week but now I treasure Tuesdays even more. Friendship Onion in the morning and Kirsten and Joerg in the afternoon makes Tuesday my favorite UA-cam day. The cake looks FANTASTIC.
I can't say enough good thing about your channel. Everything is a pleasant experience and every place you visit is a wonderland. When ever you take us into your home we are so welcomed. As Dee Dee from Florida said you relieve the stress and chaos from our lives. I must admit I would love to live in the UK unfortunately that is not possible at the moment. Every so often I have a cup of tea to remind me of the east side of the world. Thank you for inviting us in. Much love and many blessings Kirsten and Jeorg.
In my chaotic life in Florida, with dogs, husband, and taking care of my adult child, who is disabled, I so enjoy watching a lovely, calm, immaculate and smart couple enjoying their life. In this world we are living in, I find peaceful solace in watching your videos and the normalcy it brings and for a few moments, I'm sure my blood pressure thanks you both! 😊
Hi Kirsten and jorg so nice to see you hope you are both well it’s so nice to see people having a proper cup of afternoon tea and a must have cake bit of both and to see a lovely table setting it makes you enjoy the tea more when the tab,e is set nicely not many people bother and it such a shame as it does finish it of nicely
It's interesting that the first two teas are Indian, but in India people make tea differently. They boil the tea with water and then add milk and re-boil again. For madala tea you add the spices with the tea powder to boil. While in many other places people simply steam the tea in hot water. Lovely set up, gorgeous roses, yummy looking cake! And of course, adorable host as usual! ❤🌞🍀
I loved the way the house smelled in the cold rainy fall weather. There was nothing better than a saucer of home baked sweets beside a warm fire, looking out on a rainy dreary day. It felt like a warm hug from your mom or grandmother. Blessings!
My late husband and I used to take our caravan to Germany to visit my relatives . Once , we used so many of Tante’s tea bags that we fetched our teapot and it’s Cosy so we could make the tea go further. They could not believe the teapot had it’s own hat! Such memories. 🥰🇬🇧
Hi guys, love the video, I’m recovering from cancer and your videos keep me relaxed, I love making cakes and drinking tea, quintessentially English, love how you love our country, I have a German friend and I love your country, if only the whole world was as nice as you xxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Fortnum and Mason’s too! The tea tins are reusable (love sustainable products), and for us North American travelers wonderful memory inducers. You can order online, but visiting the store is a must for tea lover tourists, don’t you think?
Yummo!!!!!!!! Lovely video, beautiful cake and two of my favorite people enjoying life. It’s the small stuff that makes us happy, like a little sweetness in a cup of tea, a slice of cake, memories and the love of your life by your side. 💜💜💜💜
Hello Kirsten and Joerg. We had the pleasure of visiting Shropshire last weekend in our Motorhome called 'Pippin' !! Ludlow was great and taking lunch in The Feathers Hotel was superb. We drove through some lovely villages on our way to Shrewsbury for a short stay before returning home. I can't wait to try this cake. Thanks from Dave and Sophie xx
I'm in the states and have had tea in Ireland, England and the states at various place including some places owned by English couples whom moved over and I must say one of my favorites was at Lincoln in the UK and in Bath in the UK. Will many Christmas markets be open this yr? If so pretty please film them.
Kirsten & Joerg. I'm a big fan of English Breakfast tea and I like Darjeeling as well. My favorite is Yorkshire tea. I haven't had Russian caravan sense the 1970s. I liked it. My Dad used to make bunt cake. Good memories.❤ I like when Joerg makes you laugh. We miss seeing you twice a week. Take care. Cheers Ron & Dovie
Ooo Russian caravan is my favourite. Just like Kirsten says the cake smell brings back memories russian caravan brings back memories for me. My mum would simmer it in a saucepan on the stove to make it very strong and it smells lovely. It brings back the image of a winter morning at my parents home with mandarins (clementines), avocado on toast and Russian caravan tea with milk (no sugar). I'm going to try and make your cake.
Very nice tea selections, I love doing Tea time with my husband we do English tea, and I have Turkish tea time with the 2 tea pots, I also have Indian Teas. So relaxing having conversation time and a dessert.
What a sweet video...awww...wish some of us were there, having tea with you. Definitely going to try the cake. I am a coffee drinker in the morning(decaf) but love my afternoon tea. Actually, I tend to have tea while I am watching your videos...just seems like the right thing to do. 😉 Thanks for sharing, take care.
Lovely! I am going to grate my apples and make a delicious cake today😁😳😍 I love "taking tea"...it makes you slow down, concentrate on each other, shut out the world....and make a little cozy memory, together. I have collected teacups, teapots, tablecloths and pretty dessert plates...for over 55 years! Most have been "found" at estate sales, thrift shops, antique fairs and tiny shops of intrigue while on little trips with my loving husband, cherished parents, beloved sister and bestie girlfriends. Instead of buying t-shirts while on vacations, I find nearest church rummage sales or thrift and antique stores...and go off on an adventure for "lovely treasures." Some become gifts for other "teatime lovers" and "old souls" and other "treasures" become family finds to enjoy.
An English tea (dont forget German twist!) with Kirsten and Joerg... made my day! I so enjoyed this video... but then I enjoy all of your lovely videos... thank you for all you do... you both have lovely taste in home decor (and clothing!)... it's so lovely to see you both having fun and sharing part of your day with us.. and I will make that cake! I enjoy tea too, I use my French press for loose tea, it's not just for coffee around here. I'll be making that cake, it looks so pretty with that dark edge, that sprinkle of powdered sugar had me thinking of Christmas. Have a wonderful week.
