Although this is far from the best of Best it does highlight just how comfortable he was with both feet. A lot of his passes are taken very naturally with his left foot and on an absolute quagmire of a pitch!!!
50 years ago... He was a truly great player though. Would undoubtedly be able to prove that now, especially with the modern advantages they didn't have back then.
@@bobbypunkt8937 1969 was definitely within his best years... he won the European player of the year in 1968... he didn't start fucking things up until about 1972 ish.
“The ball was too heavy” that just tells you something about that era. Modern football fans love to say the game is better, tactics are better, etc. but we ignore the fact that these pitches were muddy and patchy as hell while today’s pitches are almost like an astroturf and the ball was that much heavier making some of the dribbling and goals we see today impossible. Each era has factors that made it significantly easier and factors that made it significantly harder
what you think mud is? it is not a bloody spike. if todays pl clubs played against them on their pitches and ball they would still be able to score 10 goals.
@@thebreathlessman3710 because of the sport science and tactical advances…. Something that that era didn’t have. Did you even read what I said? I said the tactics are better. Players are also more fit because they take the game far more seriously (they make millions from it whereas the old players didn’t). Each era has its advantages and disadvantages. The old teams had just as many talented players. The difference is they weren’t as organised because tactics like the ones we have today just hadn’t been made yet and their training equipment was nowhere near as advanced. Take Pele and give him the training they have today with the conditions and tactics meant to maximise his ability and he’d still be a goat-level player. Same goes for ronaldo and messi. They’d be amazing in any era. But each era has things that make it easier and more difficult.
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player You are the Best George Best Good bye the Belfast boy World legend Maradona Cruyff Pele George Best is the Best Danny van Strien Holland Europe
It's not 100 times harder when you have mud on your field. I played with worse balls and on worse fields. You are all speaking like you have a football stadium on your backyard.
How can he dribble like that on that pitch?! It’s like someone put grass over cobbles. What a player.
The thing with best is that he could play anywhere along the front line and he was a world class midfield player too.
Could have played in defence as well

He really didn't do anything this game though. Great player though.
Well done on this footage.
Post more of George Best videos like this.
