- This is my second 300 gram roast, I am starting to get it figured out on where to set the heat in manual mode to get the rate of rise and bean temps to roast a good tasting coffee. Still plenty of room to learn much more.

Yes you can hear first crack, the machine could definitely be more quiet

How is the smoke?. I can't use my Behmor inside which gets pretty annoying in the winter where I live. Is this one better?
I use the chimney pipe to the stove hood vent. So I'm not sure it the smoke filter works.
How did it taste?
Pretty good, but it was roasted a little to much for my taste, lost some of the character of this coffee.
Something is wrong. I suspect it is C not F - double check that.
If it IS set to F then the readings are garbage - roasting temp in F are 380 to 450. If it is "roasting at 300-350 F" then the numbers are useless
I think the temp probe is put in a sweet spot for a full 500 grams, so it may not be reading correct for a smaller roast. Or the temp is reading just reading low.
WHY DO YOU HAVE A FAN IN THE BACK ?
