    The beautiful thing about Death Becomes Her is that the action is so outrageous that you don't even notice the slight imperfections in the effects. Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis are a hoot to watch.

    As a ten year old when it came out, Death Becomes Her's effects and the way they pulled those effects off absolutely blew my mind and yes 29 years later, it really does hold up.

      The animation for the motion especially on Godzilla was really bad. They moved unrealistically fast, nothing like in the Godzilla movies.

    As soon as Sam mentioned 1980's visual effects I automatically thought of Inner Space. You should totally react to it! It won an Oscar for visual effects that year and it was nominated with only one other movie, Predator.

    Unless it's already been done, the Paddington movies have some amazing attention to detail that really brings the little bear to life. Facial expressions, interactions between real life objects and animation, lighting, details in fur and materials, for a family movie I think it holds up really well.

      Yes. It holds up so well still. Some of the color for the dinosaurs is a little bit off but it is not distracting.

      Oh, yeah. Dig into some of their other videos. He goes on about Shardblades multiple times and once named a pair pf batter packs "Kaladin" and "Kelsier". It's the greatest thing.

    Peter Jackson, Robert Zemeckis, Michael J. Fox... I'd love to see a breakdown of the VFX from The Frighteners (1996). They're somewhat cartoonish, but they were pretty awesome at the time. And the beginnings of Weta before Lord of the Rings...

      Weta Digital actually began in 1993 in order to produce the visual effects in Heavenly Creatures, which is another film the Corridor Crew should break down.

    Concerning photoreal water I really love helicarrier takeoff from first Avengers. Way it's sucked into engine is, well, marvelous. Also Avatar scene when Jake emerges from water... Anyway, been wondering if you guys would cover Love Death and Robots at some point. Both seasons have some really mindblowing CGI.

    The scene in Matilda when she first unlocks her powers and is causing everything to fly around in her living room. I think it's a blend of bluescreen, rotoscoping, and reverse shots that makes it all look ridiculously good for 1996. Please tell me how they did it.

      Watched it as as kid and loved it, but I rewatched it during the Lockdown and let me tell you...that movie is DARK. It's a little crazy that it even got made, but if it's 1991 and you've directed Back to the Future and Roger Rabbit, I guess they let you make whatever you want.

      If you are already in it then good for you. Otherwise It's a life draining profession for the detail obsessed. Some stay single until its too late. Because it's a travelling life as well. It's great to travel the world and have freedom but there will come a time when you feel left behind in real life. And a CG artist spends most of ones life in a dark studio.

      I'm a VFX artist as well (althought I don't like the term artist in my case) but 2D department, not CG. But yeah, the fear of being single too long is real. You have to put lots of work and efforts in your job, extra hours that are not paid sometimes, makes you wonder if you can find anyone who would be willing to follow you with a life like that. It's not the kind of life for an epicurean that's for sure, but there's cool things that comes with it.

      @@SamuelNormand_Burgunday Yes! The positives are that with a good reel and good communication skills you can get jobs in other countries and travel. 6 months to 1 year gigs. Just remember to always think of composition and framing before you take those precious travel photos or videos.

    Please please please do a vfx artist or animators react to the new season of Love, Death, and Robots on Netflix! You can do a whole episode on the 2nd season every episode has different animation and story. If your only gonna do one I’d recommend the episodes either Life Hutch or Snow in the Desert

    I think I'm even *more* impressed that they somehow blended CG water and real water together... water ripples are so complex and difficult to predict. I have no clue how they made it so seamless!? Amazing.
    Beautiful Wet ass Sand Scanline VFX! Awesome.
    Another name to thank for some of my favorite films.
