THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! - Спорт
Mr Richard I've been fishing for 30 years and I've never fished for bass with live bait and I don't have any experience catching big crappie either. I'm new to your channel and all I do is watch your videos and I have learned so much and I'm forever grateful. Thank you for all you do!
Hey Richard, have you ever thought about taking that cooler up front with you to the front of the boat? My knees got sore just watching you go back and forth.
Made me sore myself lol
Words can’t describe how much you’ve taught me about fishing and how much you’ve helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. I’ll forever be grateful for that!
Richard--Thanks for all you are doing to make fishing exciting & enjoyable, hope to see you on the lake sometime...retiring Jan. 1, 2018!!!!! will now have time to fish again.
Thank you so much for watching them cquinn59! it means a lot to me!
Wow! Your baitfish are bigger than the bluegill and crappie I catch!
Lsey81 heck of a note, ain't it? lol
BuffFishGuy usually they are skinner than bream so easier to swallow and bream also have the big very sharp fin on their back
Only Richard Gene could make catching live bait look this sporty. I'm glad I found your channel, Richard. It is second to none!!

I've never seen that before big guy. Another great tip. Lots of folks probably wishing they had all the money back they've spent on shiners about now!
I know what you mean Rodney! They are just too expensive! Thank you for watching my friend!
I think there like 7 dollars a dozen here in Tennessee now.
My friend , thanks for the info. You can tell a lot about a person by their openness, you seem to care about helping other people catch fish. Thanks for being real.
Always love learning new techniques, that's why this channel is good fer ya 👍👍
Heck ya', I'm stoked! Can't wait until your next video. Hope you boat a Hawg!
They was a pay lake that I used to fish, that had them golden shiners in it, and some of them were huge too, I’m talking 10-12 inches long. We used Popeyes tipped with a wax worm to catch them and we’d catch them green sunfish too but that lake had some big ole Flatheads in it too and they loved those things! I remember a buddy of mine caught a golden shiner about 14” inches long and caught a 54 lb Flathead on it and the dang shiner was still alive after he landed that fish, so he rehooked it and threw it back out there and then hooked into a big ole bluecat, I think it was 34 or 36 lbs, something like that, needless to say that shiner wasn’t alive after that, them blues and channels will crush a live bait before they try to swallow it! Anyways I just wanted to tell you that, and you’re right my friend, they are excellent bait if you can find them!!! We also caught a bunch of them shiners from there and took them to another lake, where my buddy caught a 76 lb bluecat on one, of course I always thought that boy could throw in a mud puddle and catch a darn fish! Know what I mean, Vern?? lol! Or Elmer I should say!! Anyways, tight lines and good fishing to you bud!!
I'm ready to see the Bass fishing after that. Good lesson there Richard.
I so have to give this a go. Thanks for making the video. BTW, I appreciate you using a chest rigged cam. Head mounted ones drive me crazy watching them.

Awesome video! Love them wild shiners!
I grew up in California, golden shiners are not native at the lake I grew up fishing on. But they were there, someone brought them in as bait and they reproduced. The lake is actually named Bass Lake and when I was a youngster my family would go on vacation to this lake every year. I used to catch Golden Shiners from our dock using small white bread balls on a small hook, bluegill too. When I was about 11 years old I tossed one out and reeled it in, there were 5 big bass following it, you can guess what I did next. Well when I was about 22 years old I started going back to the lake on vacation, and there were no more shiners in the lake.
Have a buddy that takes his extending pole out with no reel and catches some skipjack to cut up whenever he is going catfishing the next day.
Thanks Richard for the video!

Richard you are the man!
I love this thanks
Your a beast fisherman I love watching your videos :)
Thank you so much Josh!
Looks like fun
Great video.
Thank you Sir. Another good video Richard. Can’t wait to see them bucket mouths you catch on them shiners. Neat way to approach and catch bait. Don’t know if our lakes in my area has any those. I do know we have gizzard shad. I usually take the kids, that are grown now, and go to the creeks and catch shiners and chubs with small live bait. Gonna have to try that very small jig though. Great video my friend, and if you used a casting net, well then that would have taken the fun out of it. Cause your fishinggggg when cannnnn. God bless my friend.
Thank you James! God bless brother!
Can't wait to see what them babies catch!!a

I remember having a ball as a kid by going down to small creeks with a tiny hook to catch little minnows.
cool and thanks
Thank you for watching Matt!
@RichardGene I live near a watershed where there are golden shiners, but theres almost no milfoil or really any vegetation to fish around. You can cast net them there, but its really difficult to get one.
Love those shiners. They will jump out if you don’t have a lid
👍 good times 👍
Caught my biggest on a big golden shiner at North Sauty bridge
They mite catch some monster Flatheads too !
That's what I was thinking !!
I 2'nd that thought....Ole' Mr. Flathead loves some shiners.
Fishing master to go and get what you're looking for.Shiners at that!
Richard Gene, I don't think that you're gonna catch any fish with those shiners. I guess your gonna have to take me along so I can see it !!
I would love to fish with Richard, he is a master of fish habitat.
Dang....just catchin them golden shiners looked like a lot of fun.....hey...you any kin to Tom Sawyer? He made white washing that fence look so much fun he just set back and watched everyone else work....lol....really enjoy watching and always learn something new.....sorry, but I gotta go......cant wait to see the Fishin Machine hook into a giant LMB using one of them fancy golden shiners.......have a great week sir....
One more great way to catch a great bait!
Looking forward to the big bass bite Richard. Tell elmo hey.
Elmo says hello David!
Hey Machine!!! Never ever seen anyone go after their own bait like you Do! Awsome...do you think your more successful because you catch your own bait verses buying it?
I'ma go fishin when I can cuz it's good for me..
Another great video. How do you keep them overnight? Looking forward to next video.
I just put an airrator in the cooler. Thank you for watching Greg!
How are ya Richard? Hey would you consider catching more shiners and going for some flatheads or channels for us??
you should do a video on carp fishing
Who are you kidding Richard ? The fishing machine dont need no fingers crossed
Richard, I was catching shiners down at the creek on a rod and reel. The first one I put in my livewell turned the water red with blood. I only hooked him in the lip not the gills. I’ve heard you say golden shiners are hard to keep alive. Why is this and how do you keep them from bleeding like that?
One year later this vid is sweet.
Is that rod tip sensitive enough to feel the bite or are you mainly depending on watching the float go down i keep trying to catch these gene but im having trouble i keep getting SKUNKED need some advise id really appreciate it
nice! love your videos, can you please write what kind of berkley jig is that and which line you are using?
It called a Berkley atomic fish fry. I was using 2lb high viz viscious
Now we're all excepting some biguns on the next one!!!!!!
I’m trying to catch shiners. How do you keep tha small bream away??
I use 1/80 oz jigs for shiners and I catch tons of Bluegill and Crappie same time.
What kind of rod/reel?
What kind of rod/reel setup are you using for that small jig?
What pole are you using to cast that far with such a small jig?
Where Could I Catch Some shiners? I fish in Cherokee lake Tennessee off of the little boat ramp shore about 24 ft down and the Little boat dock about 17 ft down, you could probably look up pictures, Anyway Please reply! Thanks In advance for your time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
We catch them on a tiny ball of soft bread , Roll it up tight and put it on a small hook with a small float. What is your biggest bass Gene?
14 1/4 is my best so far. Thank you for watching Brooks Pearce
