Offer to actually buy them something, like a sandwich (or a blanket, clothes, etc) or try and find a service/place that helps support the homeless. Although I wouldn't just advise you to buy someone something, just in case of things like allergies or health issues, always ask first. Any scammer isn't going to want actual help, they're there for your money. Unless they're really committed to playing the long game and their role, most won't accept such help.

it’s always the people that don’t need it. i was given 500 in donations after i was illegally abandoned by foster care after being abused as a disabled very sick teen after being homeless for a long time while battling a tumour and a huge surgery. that 500 got me on my feet. now i live on 700 a month. sorry i’m just pissed these kinds of people get donations that could cure me and make my life whole again (as in adequate care to continue my highschool career and get a job even)

I remember this story. His image was the MAIN draw, although the story played a part.
Since Kaitlyn(?) and her BF would've gotten 2/3 of the take, they should've given him AT LEAST $125000. They STILL would have gotten the lion's share, but it wouldn't have been so glaringly obvious that they ripped him off.

AND THAT is one reason I Never share money with individuals or organizations. Save the Children did a Christmas Drive about 10 years ago. Familes in need were to get all they needed to cook a holiday meal, turkey, potatoes, the works AND the children were to all receive books I believe in the power of reading. Long BS story short - The Children Never Received Their Books🤬
Third reason I don't share money: The pregnant homeless woman, after a good days haul of cash, went down around the corner, down an ally, got in her Benz and drove to the home she owned where no nursery was prepped because she was Fat, not pregnant!
I'm in my 70s, disabled, in failing health, make do on $1,000. a month and get Testy when young able-bodies walk up to me in my WheelChair to beg money😠
Well now, that was bottled up and shot out like a 🍾champagne Cork😂
