I both love and hate these shattered legions rules. They seem really cool and you can definitely come up with some strong combos I bet but wooooooow the admin needed for them is crazy.
Yeah very very complex
It seems insane to me that you’re constantly adjusting each unit’s special rules depending on what models are still around. I think if you house ruled that each squad’s characteristics were picked at the beginning of the game and then remained the same throughout, it would still be complex but far more manageable. Especially if you only played two legions instead of three.
The Night Lords Dreadnought basically never being able to charge is the stupidest thing in the world though. Surely they have to errata that.
Love to see new rules getting demonstrated! While I'm a big Thousand Sons and Mechanicum fan, it's nice to see all these other legions that I don't normally see in my play group. Your heresy videos are always a highlight, love seeing y'all's enthusiasm and explaining rules as you go. Not every channel makes it as easy to follow.

In regards to the NL Dreadnought not able to charge anything:
In 4th 40K a Dreadnought was regarded as being the equal of ten models. HH 2.0 should take note of this.
Agreed would help for other things as well such as the night lords legion trait
I really actually love the Shattered legions rules - they feel a bit like outcast rules for munda (also by specialist design studio/specialist games/forge world), in that they have lots of complexity to try and create a crunchy narrative almost rogue trader-y experience.

i feel like the new rules writers have wanted to make a lot of changes just for the sake of doing something different than the previous twelve years of heresy rules writing. Some of the changes have been good, but changes like the new shattered legions rules… not so much. However I do love the solar auxilia add on rules for legion allies. So good. very flavorful and in decent rules writing there

this is one your best battle reports in awhile. do to fact no lopsided game. and both side take out few at time. where one side no behind whole game. need more games like this. so one side does not get so far behind in the game.

29:50 I'm sure you fix this but the squad lead has the character sub type so he doesn't need to take that wound "Characters and Wound: Allocation when allocating wounds, a player may always choose not to allocate wounds to a model with the Character Sub-type, regardless of how many wounds that model has lost or any other factors that would normally require it to have wounds allocated to it, as long as there is at least one other valid target model in the same unit to which wounds may be allocated instead." Page 198 of the AoD book.
But wasn’t he taking the wounds on the model With artificer?
As stated at timestamp 25:06 it was an artificer sarge but sergeants have character sub type so at 29:50 later he didn't need to pull him even though he had a wound. You can stop tanking wounds on him and it could go to others in the squad.

39:48 I think you missed a leadership check for the UM Cataphractii (lost 2 to shooting).
The Shattered Legion rules really don't look as complicated as everyone seems to complain they are.
It’s more for your opponent that the person playing them as they will get very used to it quickly. But when you need to explain it to your opponent it’s where the complication comes

I think the shattered legion rules are cool but definitely for practiced people. You really need to be efficient at keeping track of things and understand your army front and back, eveni in non-event games.

The Shattered Legions rules are overly complicated, slow and incongruent with previous depictions of Shattered Legions. How GW can expect players to pay money for the rules while also saying that the rules aren't suitable for event play is beyond me.
it's almost like there's more to tabletop war gaming then competitive play.
They're not too bad once you're used to them.
@@StephenG1991 I admit that since writing my original post, I am warming to them. Sure, you can't go all out and do the really cool stuff with them in events but for a small and slow game, they add quite a bit. I still have a bit of an axe to grind over the loss of legion-specific units but that's what allied detachments are for, I guess.
Its more then complex. 3k shattered legion games mirror would take 15 hours. Its ruined faction.
Which is extremly sad cuz idea of them is amazing for representing mixed fighting force. I gues you can prox mix force as blackshields or smth
