That table is one of the best tables I ever saw in a batrep. The dice rolls from each side were ridiculous (in different ways) which affected the game tremendously. Kudos to losing side (I don’t want to spoil) for being a sport and finishing. I watched to end and I loved this video! Both players were great!!!! More HH please. After two years, I finally have come to terms with the dumb rule changes from 1st Ed.
I don’t have the rule book in front of me so feel free to tell me I’m wrong but can’t wall of death only be triggered within 8in? So if he is out of that range he wouldn’t be able to use an over watch with the template.
@@betobrakmo9157 Sorry for the wait on this got swept up in life, but the other dude is correct. Specifically it states, " Template weapons can fire Snap Shots at any non-Flyer target. If a Template weapon fires as a Snap Shot, it automatically inflicts D3 Hits on the target unit, resolved at its normal Strength and AP value, as long as the target unit either has at least one model within 8" or if the target unit is resolving a Charge against the unit making the Shooting Attack. If the weapon is also a Hellstorm weapon then it instead inflicts D6 Hits."
Good game lads and the armies look great as always. 👌🏻. I’d be interested to know that page number regarding charging units that disembarked from a wrecked vehicle. As a world eater player it might be useful..👍🏻
@@RiftForgeStudio ahh of course that would be obvious place not the main shooting and assault phase sections.🤣. Cheers i’ll have a look at that later.👍🏻
Wait…I can ally knights with admech? Wasn’t there a restriction against that, something about not being an eligible detachment? I’m still learning and still finding all the fiddly stuff
You're correct. Per the v1.2 core rulebook FAQ, you can't take a Mechanicum allied detachment with a Mechanicum Primary detachment because they're the same faction. The only way to circumvent this is to make your warlord an Archamandrite Archmagos, which requires that your primary detachment be a Taghmata Omnissiah rather than a Questoris household or titan maniple. If he'd made the archmagos from the Mechanicum detachment an Archamanadrite and his warlord rather than making the Castigator his warlord, and traded one of the Vorax for a 6th Thallax to split the Thallax into 2 units of 3 so the Taghmata detachment could be primary, then the army would be legal. The Castigator, regardless of which Questoris upgrade it gets, would still fall below the 25% Lord of War cap. It's kind of a clunky pain to build Mechanicum armies. But they do look SO good.
We actually discussed this on the morning of filming, and rules as written, this is correct, but we played the game anyway because we thought the rule was dumb. 🙂
That makes sense, mainly I saw admech with knights and got my hopes up that either a rule changed or I had misread the rule originally (I’ve wanted to run a Thanatar and a couple Moiraxes for a while now).
The faq also mentions that you can take knights with mech because the diviso tactics lists are additional or optional detachments not allied detachments.

Ah thank you so much. Glad you liked it :)
As a Salamanders player, you can overwatch with templates at 12'. that is found in the "Wall of Death" special rule if memory serves

@@betobrakmo9157 Wall of Death has a specific clause that units that are charging the firing unit waive the 8" range limitation.

And blast weapons too, but not barrage weapons
Perfect to watch whilst fiddling with the new airbrush latee
Enjoy the convoy!
99% of DA army: *Absolute slaughter*
Corswain: *I'm still Standing" blaring at full volume from personal speakers*

Wounderfull battlerep. What a gourgeous table. Love seeing Knights so often.
Thanks a lot :)

Thanks mate! Glad you liked it. The rule in question is buried on page 213, right at the bottom of the section called ‘Effect of damage on passengers’

Murphy's law is "anything that can go wrong will." :)
Beautiful Dark Angels Army
Great looking knights!
36:50 isn’t the unit’s highest leadership 10 through Corswain?
The concussive check was on the Contemptor, not Corswain’s unit. So it is Ld9
Always excellent stuff! well done lads!
Cheers mate :)
great report ! lovely table, is the terrain available to buy?
Thanks! And no, I think Reece and Neil would be sad if we sold their terrain! 😅
Cool table
