He looks good with the time period clothes that they wore in the 1795 episodes. He was a good actor, but I dont know much about him just that he was on Dark Shadows.
One of the toughest things for an actor to do is to replace another actor in a popular role, especially since Mitch Ryan did such a good job as the original Burke Devlin. I think Anthony George did a pretty good job as Burke Devlin too, although I have to admit I never really accepted him as that character. It worked better when he was able to create a new character (Jeremiah Collins) in the time travel episodes. And he had a terrific voice.
He did an admirable job as Burke. I especially like the chuckles and comments he gave when responding to Vicky's invitation to Barnabas to explore "the house by the sea" in the dark, and how he would light up a cigarette as his eyes narrowed in on Barnabas. I've been aware of Mr. George since his "Untouchable" days and the program, "Checkmate". He was an early hero of mine, so I was thrilled when he appeared on "Dark Shadows". The period clothes were very appropriate for him, as Jeremiah.

I have picture proof Anthony George was not gay even if he never married. He dated Actress Susan Oliver in the early 1960's. I can assure you he was very straight to the best of my knowledge. RMA; Bakersfield,.

"Burke", was the show's male anchor character, the go-to guy, before "Barnabas" came on the scene, and caused a sea-change.
