- This is the latest video in my series of Dark Shadows actor & and actress tributes. This time it is the lovely and talented actress, Kathryn Leigh Scott, who portrayed Maggie Evans and Josette (among other characters) on the gothic soap opera. I've used most of these photos in my other DS videos..but decided to group them here in as tribute to this amazing actress. I hope you enjoy this...please rate and comment if you do! As someone who has gone to the DS festival and had the honor of meeting her she is as nice as she was beautiful and the thing is she was even prettier as she got older guess it's true something get better with age

I remember watching Dark Shadows after school. I`m not sure if I understood everything that was going on in the story line but I knew Katherine Leigh Scott would make an appearance sooner or later. I had a huge crush on her. I was also captivated by (in love with) Natalie Wood. They are both very beautiful women and look similar. It`s no wonder I married a woman who looks much like both of them. The only drawback to marrying a woman with looks like this is trying not to be jealous for 38 years and counting. Both Katherine and Natalie aged very well and kept their stunning good looks. So has my wife. P.S.- Rest in Peace Natasha. 1938-1981

This woman was not only a fine actress and great in all her roles on DS but her publishing work beginning almost 20 years ago helped keep DS "alive".

She was really good in all of her roles on Dark Shadows. She was very pretty. I love Dark Shadows.
KLS was stunning as Barnabas captor and as Jpsette, her look was iconic and such chemistry with the alluring Barnabas
She has such lovely eyes. I read that she did her own makeup, particularly her eyes, during much of the show's run. The color photos of her and Joel Crothers show the warmth they held for one another as actors. Nice shots of Maggie and "young" Barnabas in HODS-- the walk in the woods--and I especially loved the blue-tinted one at 4:39 showing her gorgeous wedding apparel and his 18th century coat and cloak. Another fine tribute, Baron.
A lovely tribute to a lovely lady as well as the original cast of Dark Shadows. Ms.Leigh Scott had the most beautiful speaking voice...it was like hearing a nightingale.
I remember when I watched DS as a kid. I remember thinking that there were so many pretty ladies on this show. Women like Lara Parker and Alexandra Moltke, but I just adored Kathryn Leigh Scott. She was so lovely. I also wanted to marry Quentin Collins....memories! :)
Thank you for sharing this lovely video tribute to Kathryn Leigh Scott! I always called her the mistress of the melting look...such beautiful eyes used so effectively. She charms everyone's socks off each time she appears at the annual DS conventions. Very down to earth and friendly! It is so heartwarming to see that so many of the DS cast are good friends.

Kathryn Leigh Scott is a warm and lovely person aging beautifully and gracefully I had the fantastic pleasure of meeting her at a dark shadows festival in 2008 returned in 2010 she was lovely to my husband remembered me and was as sweet as ever looking forward to hearing from you someday Catherine I really like that very much stay well

Other than Barnabas Collins ( I think Ben Cross made an intereresting Barnabas)-I think like Dracula there may be no definitive BC; but it was the great fortune of Dan Curtis to make DS in NYC at time when he had such talent with both young and more experienced actors. I do not think anyone can ever replace Catherine Lee Scott, Louis Edmonds, Humbert Allen Astredo, Joel Caruthers, Mitchell Ryan, Diana Millay, and most of all Thayer David and Lara Parker.

I'm watching Dark Shadows for the first time. It comes on at midnight in my area.... so fitting. The series is up to the part where Barnabus is attempting to make Maggie his bride. I'm so disappointed in the wedding dress. It made her appear very pregnant. I would have loved for her to wear a soft flowing victorian dress.... not a puffy starched one. A low victorian neckline would have shown off the extravagant diamond necklace, which Barnabus gave her. The dress in the portrait appeared to be so much prettier. She was so lovely and her dress should have complimented her beauty and figure.
The Victorian dress wouldn't have fit the era as Barnabas was alive in the late eighteenth century.
