A Tribute to Virginia Vestoff (aka Samantha on Dark Shadows)

- I know that I had said that I was done with the individual Dark Shadows actor & and actress tributes because I didn't feel I had enough photos to make a fitting tribute for some of the actors...However, a dear friend of mine ( M0m3nt0M0r1) has sent me some additional photos of Mrs. Virginia Vestoff and now I finally have enough to make a video tribute for her. Virginia Vestoff portrayed Samantha Collins (wife of Quentin) during the parallel time story line on the gothic soap opera. I've used most of these photos in my other DS videos..but decided to group them here in as tribute to this amazing actress. I hope you enjoy this...please rate and comment if you do! I could also use some help in boosting my view counts and YT channel...so if you know of anyone who would enjoy my Dark Shadows videos..please pass my url along. Thank you so much!!! :)
Virginia was not only a great and brilliant actress and a force of nature, my good baron, she was my friend and my colleague. We were on stage together at Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival appearing both of us in a classical play from La Comedie Francaise of Moliere starring herself and the great Jack McMartin - the star of Follies... She was a joy and so much fun to be around...I miss her with all my heart...Arthur
The photo at 1.10 is from A Man With a Load of Mischief. My cousin, Alice Cannon, starred in that with her, which is how I first heard of her. You can find songs from it here on UA-cam. That is a great show that deserved far more attention than it got (it has gone into revival in recent years). When I went to see the film 1776, I instantly recognised her name. She was incredibly talented, had a superb voice.
Just now discovering her on The Doctors. She was very lovely.
@WePrintAnything: Hi, I'm the one who found some of the 1776 original production stills and such...some of them can actually be seen on the musical's website, but I found them in various lots and snatches through extensive searching...Virginia's pix in almost ANYTHING are very hard to find, but I'm working on a biography of her, so I've sort of made it my mission to find shots...
Samantha was a fiery match for Quentin Collins. When they sparred, it was wild. Ms. Vestoff had a presence that, when she swept into a room, you knew this woman meant business. Even when Samantha was brooding about her relationships with first, Quentin, then Gerard, she maintained a cool composure. She was no weak-willed ingenue. She should have been added earlier on in the show that we could have more performances from her. I endured 1776 when it came out, only because she was in it.
Hi socrates640...you know, I did not know that she had passed. I just looked up her bio and am deeply saddened by this news...she was only 42 years old. I will be 42 myself this year come November. She certainly has left a lasting mark on the hearts of all of her fans....
