As a son of a single mother, I have more respect for my stepfather than my biological father for stepping up and raising me by example. My mom and dad worked in the educational field and was loved by hundreds. Some of those students considered them mom and dad as they came from broken homes.

Princess Leia, you are the exception to the rule. Dating a single mom for most men is a bad decision for many reasons. Financial responsibility with no rights is one of the main ones, usually with a single mom, you do not have the ability to discipline that child and raise them the way that you want. The father could also become an issue in the relationship. You have no rights to that child where you invest your time, money and emotions and the mother could leave and take that child with them and you would never have any rights to see it again. These are just some of the reasons that it is not a good idea for most men raising someone else's son. When that sun becomes a teenager and does not respect you as his father, it can create a very toxic family dynamic. Again, you are the exception to the rule and I thank you and Gary are an awesome couple. We love watching you

It's sad that some people take their valuable time to waste hating on someone whom they know nothing about or their situation. They don't know how they are in a single parent situation. Single parents deserve happiness and love just like anyone else. We all need to be careful and choose wisely in our relationships and not let preconceived notions keep you from your very own happiness ❤❤

I was raised by an amazing single mom. My Filipina girlfriend is a single mom and she’s the most amazing woman I’ve ever known. I’m 54, she’s 45. I personally wouldn’t want to date a younger woman and not only does it not bother me that she has kids… her boys are awesome! For me, not only is that NOT a deterrent, I’m happy to have two amazing boys that I can hopefully help become even better men.

  • @pa4765
    @pa4765 Місяць тому +3

I did adopt & raise another man's child and found that DNA is very powerful for boys who will inherit many of the characteristics and personality traits of the father. Some traits are negative and difficult to alter. The biggest hurdle concerning male children is that the woman has to genuinely allow the man to lead as a servant leader like Jesus Christ. Some women will place the child ahead of the parents and even God. God is #1.
    Parents are #2.
    Children are #3.
    Extended family are #4
This is Biblical but not recognized by some filipinas. I believe it can work if the Man and women follow the Holy Bible and commune with God.
    God Bless you.

I haven’t dated since my wife passed from cancer. However, I think perhaps if I did, I would view a woman with a child as more mature, stable and settled down.
As far as raising another man’s child, what better way of being a good man in God’s eyes than to be a father to a fatherless child.
    God bless Sir.

That is incredibly pathetic these men act like they're absolutely perfect and they never made any mistakes. These are the type of people that the only way they can feel good about themselves is by trying to make other people feel bad. None of us perfect I have a beautiful 19 year old daughter that biologically is not mine but I have been there since she was 6 months old blood doesn't make you family and makes you related Love Is What Makes You family

I agree with Gary, some men over 50 want children, marrying a single mom or adopting, their choice. Also why put all the blame on the girl who become pregnant when the education and sense of responsability of the boy are lacking. By the way, are there no "shotgun marriages" in the Philippines? Or rather "bolo mariages". Filipinas beware, it happens in the West that sexual predators set up relationships with single mothers (often junkies) to have access to children.

I paused your vlog at 15:36 just to say this: I admire both of you. I think this is the first video of yours that I've watched. I admire a man who accepts responsibility for a single Filipina's child or children if he decides to make a life with that Filipina.
The viewer comments I've heard so far in this vlog sadden me. Leah (is that your name, young lady?) isn't "used" anymore than all of us in life, with or without children, are "used." And, yes, we've all made poor life choices (I know I have!), regardless of the reason.
Now, let me return to the vlog. And because I admire you both, I'll subscribe to your channel and eagerly follow your channel.
I hope you read this comment. We're not all judgmental. We're not all hateful.

Haters, they dont really hate, they're commenting while drunk, or they're jealous, or they're smoked off their feet, or they're consumed within their own upbringing beliefs.
I would like to remind you all that, we've all got our things to do, be you, do for you, and if you don't like what others do then, good, Don't need to tell the world about it, but try to find love else you'll have a miserable existence... We all have things we like and dislike.
There's nothing wrong with a single mom, nothing wrong with age differences, nothing wrong with anything if it's not wrong for you. Leah, your head is very grounded and I would have been honoured to have dated you and shared a balot...

I think you both dealt with this topic very well. It is true that sex education is lacking in the Philippines, but also Filipinos are not open to it. When I was still married to my Filipina ex-wife, I had "the talk" with some children in their puberty. I talked to them about taking pills and using condoms, they said yes and then went out and had unprotected sex which resulted in a baby. Sex education, like any other form of education, only works when they are willing to follow through on what you taught them.

Hello Leah and Gary. You are a great couple. I think like you, that a man that finds a great lady that has a child already, yes you find that she made a mistake at a very young life, and in the Philippines they young man usually runs. As an American who is Catholic, i have seen this even here, growing up in the 60s and 70's. Even with sex education in my country, things still happen, but not as much as over there. Yes the Catholic Culture in the Philippines has much to do with that and i don't blame the girl for the mistake. It saddens me that people are so narrow minded to have the attitude they do. This is part ofcwhy society today is so bad in the world. Thank you for the candid responses to people that thinknthey are perfect 😊

I found Garry’s channel shortly after it started and found Leah’s shortly after not knowing they were a couple. As usual, their exploration of this topic is right on! But it applies to all cultures around the world. Thirty years ago I married a woman with 2 boys, later adopting them and now even as adults they keep my name and consider me Dad.
It amazes me that those condemning the single Filipina moms would probably be the first in line to be with a promiscuous Filipina without a child.
I don’t often comment on any videos, but thank you Gary and Leah for always speaking your minds and sharing you insights! Much love from the USA!

Let me start by saying I am married to a Thai 20 years younger than me and we have been together for 27 years. First and only marriage for both of us and we chose not to have kids. You are correct that most women will want kids as that is what is expected but it is possible to cultivate and an amazing active life where kids aren't necessarily a good fit.

Some, in the case of the young lady I'm dating, lost her sons father , so don't be so hasty to judge the circumstance. These single moms have a lot to give and offer , and their child deserves a home with parents who love them, whether it be by blood or not. It take real heart to accept and love another child as your own.

I thought this was going to be about Gary's age gap video.
So, Gary is spot on. At my age I have no desire for diapers and teething. Doesn't mean I dislike having kids, though.
Also, I think a lot of negative views are based on American single mothers, and how (obligatory 'not all') the women act and treat any possible male partner. And to be fair, I would have to agree with their assessment HERE. I am not in the Philippines. So voicing an extreme opinion would be based on ignorance. The culture is different. The values are different. But I see nothing wrong with helping a child reach his/her potential. IF the woman is able to balance between the child and the man. It is not a topic I would die on my sword over, but that is how I see it. The child did nothing to deserve an absent father. That said, every situation is different. And if someone says they would never raise another man's child, ok. That is absolutely fine with me too. And I can understand why. But don't dump on someone else just because they see the world slightly different.
On a side note Gary, I've mentioned this before. You gotta keep Leah from wearing makeup in her videos. She is causing a rise in divorce over here. You are encouraging men to flock to the passport office.
Back on topic, if a man is able to deal with raising someone else's DNA, how is that a bad thing? Breaking a family out of the poverty cycle should be a point of pride. And that child is a reflection on the women. You can get a good understanding of a gal by how she is with her kid(s). Much quicker than if she was childless. Just don't get too involved with the kid until you are sure you want to be involved with the kid. They can latch on to someone quickly, and it isn't fare to them to be here today and gone tomorrow.

I look at it this way. All kids deserve a good father. Some people love kids & some don't. But those men who are older, but still want to have that extra bit of family in their lives (or at least don't mind it), that's a blessing to the Filapina, her kids, and the guy as well. The opportunity to positively impact lives is a gift.
Responsibility is something a real man picks up and takes on, like a job or a work that needs done. He takes it seriously and puts himself into the task.
If another man lays down the shovel, but another picks it up to finish...the satisfaction goes to the one who did the work. Work & responsibility are a real man's pride.

I look specifically for a single mom with one child. And I was lucky enough to find exactly what I wanted. She's mature, grounded, and settled, and absolutely the most beautiful person I've ever known. I have three grown children already, and now I'm lucky enough to have an early teen stepson that I can help my girl raise. I don't have much to do, and she's done a fabulous job raising him already. I go into it not expecting to become the boys father (unless that's what she/he wants), but to be a role model for him to see how a woman should be loved and treated. And I don't hold my girls past against her. We all have a past, she does, I do. As someone once wrote: we all come with baggage. We can spend the rest of our lives tripping over them, or unpack them together.

Judging others is a nagging flaw that everyone experiences daily. It complicates the matter that some of our "judgments" are opinions that guide us through life. I believe that judging others unfairly are signs that evil is nipping at our heels. It reminds us that we have to constantly maintain and repair our Relationship with God. We know that we are all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God and Jesus Christ is our Savior. I'm only pointing out the obvious Truth.

One thing the people giving you hate is not taking into consideration, is that single mothers in the Philippines are completely different than single mothers in the west. Different and better attitudes and morales are a big difference. Filipina single mothers make better wives than western single mothers.
Not just in the Philippines, it goes for most non western countries. I stopped dating western women in 1997, saw what they were becoming back then. Married my traditional Russian wife in 2000. I have 2 step sons that I am very proud of.
For me, I wanted kids but can't have them.

Totally agree with everything both of you have said about this topic. Very shocked at the comments you are responding to, seems there are a lot of immature closed minded men out there. I've had relationships with several single mothers and they've been wonderful. I've had a child with someone and unfortunately it didn't work out, but I happily pay child support and do all I can to help raise them and have a great relationship with my child. I'm also currently dating a Filipina with four children to two Filipino guys who disappeared on her. It's not her or the children's fault for the bad character of these guys. I'm with her for her wonderful personality and heart. She works and does an amazing job taking care of her children, and they love her to bits. No complaints here, I feel I've met a wonderful person and am very lucky.

Ignore the haters. When I got married the second time, she was surprised that I had no reservations about her two daughters. I told her that I had a son from my first marriage and it would be unfair to hold that against her. We've been married 37 tears now and I have no regrets. I know in the Philippines, you have to be careful, as divorce isn't legal yet and adultery can land you in prison. Always ask for proof of no marriage before taking the plunge. Take care.

The Children did ask for Dead Beat sperm donors to leave them. I respect and appreciate people who do marry single moms. Cuz it enhances the children's life, and You get to be with the Woman that You Love.
Today is Friday November the 22nd and this is the first day of come across your UA-cam website. I like it. Kudos to you young man. I respect you more for doing what you're doing for this lady's children. I'm also a single dad who I help raise two other women's children. For me, my biological children and my stepchildren are all the same. They're my children!

I'm 27 years old and I agree you guy's view on it completely. However, there still are certain behaviors that I won't accept from a single mother. I know that not all of them act like ass hats though. And that's why I would be willing to take care of a single mother.

Regarding Filipinas using expats as a retirement plan, I don't see anything wrong with a woman seeking the security that comes with being married in general and being married to an expat specifically. Filipinas, I imagine, are no different than Western women in that way. Security is something that a man offers a part of being married.

I'm gonna point out some differences. Single mothers in the Philippines (more than likely) the father left the mother. Single mothers here in the west (more than likely) the mother left the father.
Reasons fathers leave single mothers in the Philippines (both Filipinos and Foreigners) can via from being widowed, lazy, or she's crazy, and anything in-between.
I don't know what the statistics are in the Philippines. But here in the United States, 70% or higher of people who were raised in a single mother's home have been or are currently in prison.

love is love, dont let the past interfere with a relationship, I know it can be hard, but you all should stop punish people for their past mistakes or choices. If you love somebody you will accept whatever there is and go with it.

Having dated many women in the Philippines, the general consensus is that the best women to date if you’re looking for a relationship are definitely those who have already had children. Of course, there are many foreigners who will only date very young Filipino Women because they know that is likely the only opportunity to not have children because nearly 100% of women 25 years and older have children here. Just like you often hear the comment in North America. The best ones are married, similarly in the Philippines the best ones have had a serious relationship in the past, and have children. If you’re an armchair critic sitting in your basement somewhere outside Philippines, it’s easy to criticize but in reality taking on children here in the Philippines can be a joy. And of course, the woman you love is part of this amazing package

If you really WANT more kids, and not just accepting that responsibility to be with the woman, then maybe it can work out. The more kids you add to the mix, the more expensive it will be (hint: it will be a LOT more expensive than you probably thought it would be). On the other hand, why not have your own, if you really do want more? If retired, you even get a sizable SS supplement. Some dangers and potential hassles are: she may still be married, so you need a copy of her CENOMAR, and the deadbeat father might return at any time to make your life more difficult. While in love we don't think about these things. This is not meant to be a 'hate' comment, only a caution.

There are so many single mothers in the Philippines because a combination of lack of information especially from the parents and Boredom. If you live in the province there is nothing to do. In the US there is always a lot of babies born 9 months after a blizzards because there was nothing to do that day.

I was raised by a Single Mom so i know the struggles, and I am dating a widow who lost her husband at a young age. You should choose base on compatibility as there are so many Beautiful Filipinas I could fall in lust every day but falling in Love is a completely different story. And I wasn't sure but made a point to be open-minded as it gives you more choices as why would you want to pass on the Best person because of that is shrinking your options down allot asI wanted the highest quality woman with a good family that checks off all the boxes on my list. I am not perfect and neither will she be; so pick your best and be your best. Also Filipina single mom are much sweeter as Leah is as sweet in person as on the video; as Gary did get a Prize and she doesn't think that way and that's one of the reason she is so good.

I am 64 and been married for over 33 years. We chose not to have children and worked endless hours on our careers. I'm retired now and definitely feel mature and clear headed enough to raise a child. If I were single, my main requirement is that the child should already be getting trained good discipline and good habits. Those should already be evident before considering dating a single mother. Also, the mother should be showing love to the child and not inattentive to the child's needs. I should also be allowed to interact as normal parenting of the child. If those are all there then it would not be an issue. So, it's not just whether they are a single mother or not

Perspective: the comments can be categorized into two categories, secular category and a moral category. Most comments were from the secular self preservation perspective. That's just how they feel. The moral perspective feels a great man is one who sees the value in a single mother context while a secular man will despite such a context.
