  • Many years ago I saw an advert in a fifties copy of ME and thought "that looks useful" so I made one. The advantages are obvious having no projecting external clamp.

Very cool tool! There's been a few times I could have used that exact tool. Looks like a good piece to have cut on a wire edm. lol Thanks for sharing! Mike

There's some machining in those pieces! I think that might be handy for when having to repeatedly deal with the same sized part.

Hello from Canada - Came across your video while searching for information on Offen & Co, since I recently purchased a small watchmakers vice stamped with the Offen name. The vice is a neat bit of kit, and from your video it seems like they made some other interesting things too. Was Offen & Co. well known in the UK? Actually it was the swivelling ball and socket positioning workholder mounting arm on the vice that made it unusual. (Brit. Pat.535305). It appears that Wilton in the USA stole the idea for their Pow-R-Arm workholder from Offen who had patented it earlier.

I like that a lot Chris -- might well be something to make sometime. :)

Why not actually prove it has uses and show us how you used it.....
