Hey everyone! Glad that so many of you are enjoying this! The song in the video is "Act Like You Know" by Matt Large (of Large District fame!). I did increase the speed of the song to make it sound a bit more upbeat. If you want to hear the original it is here - ua-cam.com/video/twF-JgiT1q8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=EpidemicChillBeats
Wow, how much more can the planet handle of us humans??!!
You must have spent at least 10 hours on this!!!😮😮😮👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
yo bro, is your PC fine? a city of this size must have fried your computer.
a city of this size must have 500k+ habitants
Any tips or tricks to get good
I can't believe Cities Skylines is already 200 years old, I remember playing the game in early 1830s, so nostalgic
Bro this looks like a gta 5 map 💀
Oh man It was so lit back then
Uhhh..
but that would mean it came out 1824
not 1830s
People who don’t play the game have no idea how impressive your skill and game knowledge is
You’re so right. That city looks so aesthetically
@jonapleseid7393 Meanwhile all my cities look like a 12 year old did it
What game is this? And how much on steam?
@Bearded Psycho alright will check it out. Although I don't own Xbox.
@renegade595 I thought Game Pass was on PC too, but I might be mistaken. I play on Xbox, but PC is definitely the way to go
Shout out to this guy for playing cities skylines since the 1820's!
Dude it means City Skylines years not rl years. I woud say a City Skylines year is around ten to twenty minutes

The sudden dark spots every now and then had me laughing 😂 it isn't Verde beach without at least one fire
i was about to comment the same thing! hahahaha the fires are everywhereee

Lol fr
I wondered what that was😂, should have guessed!
So many fires🔥

nah wildfire spreads a lot faster lol

I love how its been 200 years and the city is still using the same architecture and infrastrcuture as 200 years prior
Meanwhile I can't even make a city with 50k people without it having awful traffic
One way streets solve the traffic problem
I stop playing at 16k people because theres always some issue I can't solve or there are too many people and I can't see some of them and I am scared that they are not happy while I am not seeing them yk?? cause the map is so big 😅
I get you, but I finally got to 100k this time and I'm stocked !
mods make your whole life easier lol
Ive got 79% flow with 80k residents
What an amazing build, and an absolutely pleasant loop!!
On a serious note, it feels like yesterday when Phil was first expanding toward the downtown area. Time really flies...
As if it was 200 years ago !
@@ComputeCrashers It was over two years ago. But it feels like just a couple of months.
It was a joke regarding the 200 years of growth in the title
Yeah! Jesus, sitting in my heart makes me happy.
When this series finishes (please don’t end it until every possible piece of land is used) I would love and official tally of the number of fires burning palms has had
It doesn't feel right when there isn't a crazed irish man dropping meteors every 5 seconds.
Nice
Just turn the disasters off
Which irishman? Dan, kevin or jack?

Man I wanna see this for an actual city
Google Earth actually made something similar for a few cities! It is called "Google Earth Timelapse" if I remember correctly. :)

Fun fact: Without all the bureaucratic red tape it's actually just ten years of development.
I haven’t been able to unsee the camel’s head for YEARS
The fires every now and then are the most VB thing! Their great
This the type of city you'd see in one of those extremely underrated open world games
Been here since verde beach episode 1 💪💯 awesome content man. You inspired me to take up my masters in urban planning.
Love Verde Beach! Just got back to it where I left it on episode 93 when I saw Real Civil Engineer using Verde Beach in one of his videos. I had been here since episode 1! So cool to see the city grow like this.
Wow seeing such a tinelapse is unreal. How on earth did you create a video and capture everything so seamlessly?
And on top of that, incredible building knowledge and skills. I'm always in awe at what you manage to create and I hope I can emulate within my own game. Sometimes things are good, then other times I just kinda get stuck 😂
If i had to guess, i would say he loaded saves from different stages of developement. Then he took a pic from above, and made the video by zooming in on the pictures/videos in post.
Alternate title: Satellite view shows over 20 instances of fire in Verde Beach
Wish you had included something like a transit map into this! Nevertheless, fantastic build.
I'd settle for another short in the same style as this one but with transit instead, might be interesting to watch that grow and reform over the years 🤔
and then there's me getting to 20k population before my computer shits itself trying to simulate the city.
LOL
Happy 200th Anniversary to Cities Skylines!
Bros living in the 22nd century 💀
The music and the video goes so well together. It relaxes me
Look at all that beautiful cement !
I can feel the heat rising like 150dg
Would be cool if CS had a tech tree. Upgrade to newer building materials/styles and you would have to upgrade older parts of the city or leave them as historical sites.
hell yeah. I keep hoping someone chooses to one day make a city planning game that takes a Dwarf Fortress approach to complexity and realism. I also kinda wanna make such a game myself tbh
I hope that the next game allows for different start dates and unlock-able period accurate architecture.
I have headphones on while watching this and DAYUM does this song hit hard, the bass, the tune, the Instruments, the synched beats to each expansion. Is all perfect!
For some reason, watching this has a relaxing effect.
what is the name of that track? I like it very much.
sped up version of act like you know by matt large
Now imagine this as a playable map in a open world game
what would be gta 6 but miami sir.
imagine? there's a bunch of open world games set in city scapes
Oscar putting all his chips on fucking Jaimie Munguia is an all time De La Hoya Poker Move. This guy's playing chess! 😂🤣😂
props to the cameraman for piloting a helicoptor for 200 years straight to capture this
Thanks! That was satisfying.
Looking like San Andreas map
Zoo and nature preserve having a fire every episode
The beats synchronizes well with the video
What's the song, it sounds very calming.

Which map is this?
its been a joy to watch this over time
One can only dream of making a city like this
How was this time-lapse recorded? It looks so cool

I'm guessing that he kept recording a lot of short clips of his city hitting milestones, then he put every one of them together in premiere pro, and then just added a rotating animation to that entire video
my guess is the probably used the multiplayer mod, used a second pc to record each session in full birds eye view
Love the growth ! Your music is always choice as well
Verde Beach was and remains an iconic CS build and a font of urban planning knowledge and wisdom. What a gift that we can access something like this series!
Ah. This reminded me that there is 1 mod in play for Verde Beach. It's either the one that unlocks the 25 tiles, or the one that unlocks all 81.
I myself don't use either, as my computer starts having issues when I get to 8 tiles, and when I have 9, it takes a good while to load.
The only 2 mods required to play on Verde Beach are 81 tiles and his parking lot mod, and I'd also recommend a mod to get rid of the fog.
@@saoirseislive His parking lot is a Workshop asset, not a mod. It is an asset I have used in many of my cities since he put it on the workshop.
The other mod is the purple pollution one I think. But yes 81 tiles with a custom asset for larking lots.
@@Fetch26291 Assets are mods
I love that after all this time the original park is still there 🥰
I miss this series. This was the best.
Bro is BALLING
I play SimCity but I still watch you play Cities Skylines, and your effort paid off!
This makes me want to play Cities Skylines, but i also know that I'd just make a block and nothing anywhere near good looking 😂
He made an actual city, no poop hole, no spaghetti roads, the people aren't drinking their own poop, no massive coal plant areas, no walled cities. The fact that his city has one of these makes it feel wierd
Verde Beach, we will miss you!
The days I used to pour into simcity2000 back in the day. I may have to get this.
They took "Verde is real fire you should visit it" to a whole new level 🔥🔥🔥🔥
非常に綺麗に街が広がっていってて感動する。
私もこんなふうに綺麗に作りたい。
I am impressed by how beautifully the city spreads.
I want to make it beautiful like this too.
Are we not gonna talk about how peaceful this music is
I really need classes on how to make cities, cities fill with traffic at 30,000-40,000 inhabitants.
This city gotta be the map of gta 7 (if they are successful in releasing gta 6 at the first place in my lifetime, i highly doubt that i will be able to play 7)
Always funny to look back and see how things started
Now that’s city-building music!
The sure attention to detail in videos like these is what made the game so intimidating to play for the longest time. I've finally been able to push myself into doing it and just going with the flow.
Very cool, and I love how u use that world
this looks beautiful, the river formation kinda reminds me a bit of Shanghai for whatever reason, well done!
I don’t know why mate but this song and the city give me some grand theft auto vibes and I love it so much.
What if the game was paused the whole time? 200 years worth of construction just suddenly appears in a second in front of you
When you realize this is still slower growth than what some IRL megacities experienced
A player who definitivt knows what he's doing. Good job!
Impressive, very nice.
Bro made Las Vegas 💀💀
I appreciate the fact the different pics are timed to the beat it makes this so much better
Such great work. This series was next level. I can’t to see a long build in City Skylines 2 but man do I need the tutorial so perfect timing.
This was so cool to watch! I watch your channel religiously and even bought City Skylines based on watching you!
This is why i love cities skyline.
It has no limit(of course there is limit on land) to build what you want
Bros making a gta map💀
It's amazing how much more realistic CS1 looks than CS2 from this perspective! I really hope things get better for CS2
It's pretty funny because they still used modern buildings for 200 years lol
Loved watching this city evolve!
It be really nice someone needs to make a mod where the architecture style changes for buildings built a substantial amount of time after the start of the game so building built in the year 100 will look different from a building built in year zero and a building built in year 200 will look different from a building built in year 100. It would also be interesting to see Marge add it so that once you reach certain paths of time i.e. 60 years into the game you unlock the ability to purchase a fusion power plant or unlock it in the tech tree, and other things like that where you get more advanced power generation and other transport technologies as you go forwards so it feels like the city has actually changed in 200 years rather than built with the same stagnant technology and architecture. Even better you can make the architecture be procedurally generated from the forms of assets and have it so that as the time goes on it prefers more futuristic looking assets over older looking assets but it does not mean that older looking assets will not appear again as you see in modern times sometimes every once in a while a building is built in the style of an older period. Idk it would probably be very hard to do 🤷♀️ mainly thinking about asset creation, as at some point there wont be any more technologies to unlock despite going forward another thousand years, purely because of the limitations of asset creation. Of course the solution if you are making a game with this idea from the get go, you would need to add an ending year, or an end condition, that way people don’t have the ability to discover how limited advancement is in a fixed setting.
CPP you're an amazing fellow! thank you for giving us a picture into your world! It certainly has made my day brighter on some of the grayer ones.
Bro the random clumb of boats at the harbor 😂😂
"all we had to do was follow the damn train CJ"
Omg, this is so hard gameplay. You win this game
verde beach, so lit rn 🔥
The fact that you played this game for 200 years is amazing
Bro built a whole new empire 😎
I hope, we as humanity, will get more progress in 200 years IRL
Bro made an entire island
My dumbass was trying to figure out what city this was irl XD
imagine a feature in cities skyline where you could rewind time, not to change things but just to look at your city and how it evolved
